Continuing with my need to reduce the amount of gear accumulated, I would like to offer my David Eden WT550 traveller up for sale. Its a 2003 model, hybrid tube design rated at 750 watts at 2ohm, 500w @ 4ohm or 300w @ 8ohm. Dimensions = 12"W x 3.5"H x 12"D Weight 20lbs I bought this from a fellow Basschatter a few months ago with a view to running two pairs of 8ohm cabs, but never got round to experimenting, as it sounded more than loud enough with just the one pair Its been well gigged and there are a few marks on it as you would expect, but its in perfect working order and sounds terrific! It comes with the Eden gigbag in the picture. I would rather the buyer collected from Swindon, but could get a quote for shipping if necessary. I'm asking £395 which is my bottom price, but its priced to sell as I need the space and the dosh for my sons Kart racing exploits! I would consider a trade for a Schroeder 1212L, but wont hold my breath! And I know it defeats the object of what I just said above, but you cant let the kids have all their own way! Cheers Andy

Some of you may be familiar with this cab, built with great care and attention by Dave Perry, (build diary HERE), but sadly, due to a shortage of gigs, and my lad taking up Kart racing, I have decided I need to reduce the amount of gear I have accumulated. I have enjoyed gigging this cab over the last year or so, its been 100% reliable and coped easily with any situation whilst sounding brilliant. Surprisingly easy to move about and load up too. Hardly a mark on it, its been protected by a superb quality Roqsolid fitted cover. I bought this off of Hamster, on here, for £300 about a year ago For sale thread here so after a years light gigging its still gotta be worth [s]£275[/s] £250 of anybody's money. Hell, for the money there's nothing that comes even close, and I'll be lucky to get a set of tyres for that, but its priced to sell . Collection from Swindon, possible deliver or meet halfway depending on time/distance Bill Fitzmaurice O15 web page Check out the above links for more pics and specs Weight: 41kg Height: 103cm Width: 53cm Depth: 50cm

I'll nip down the local store and check one out! Cheers Andy
This will do what you need. EDIT unless you need something everyone can hear, in which case this probably painfully little use to you at all, and I'm sorry. http://www.korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=234
Yeah, its actually to enable practice with the guitarist. I should have been a bit clearer, but thanks for the response Doesn't need to be loud, just small!

Found myself in this situation a couple of times. Arrived at the gig, gear set up and waiting around with the band in the dressing room. A couple of last minute changes to song endings, or perhaps or a new song that needs a bit more polish so the guitarist brings his guitar along to the room and runs through acoustically. Its just about loud enough to do the job, but there's no chance hearing a bass, as you will know. What I'm looking for is something like a fag packet sized, battery powered amp thingy, that wont sound like a fart in a cullender, if such a thing exists. Anyone got any ideas?

Speakers are very lightweight and easy to carry. There is normal usage wear and a few scratches as one would expect, but overall in great condition. The only issue is the power amp bridge mode switch is not working, but I have never had a reason to use it bridged, and could easily be replaced if needed. Only reason for selling is band has split, and I need the space. I will be sorry to see it go. Play the song in Windows Media Player, go into the VIEW menu, select ENHANCEMENTS, then PLAY SPEED SETTINGS, where you will find a slider to alter the tempo, as well as fast, slow and normal buttons.
Ah, OK, that makes sense, but, if you'll excuse my ignorance, it still strikes me as a little risky. Is there not the possibility that a neck will get to a certain point at which only working the wood will do the job, i.e., that by increasing the tension on the rod as you've done you run the risk of pulling it out of its housing? C
Possibly, in which case you'll end up with a neck that cant be adjusted......Which is what you've got anyway!
-
Ever thought about building your own? a BFM Omni 10.5 can be built for a fraction of the prices mentioned above, and would probably out perform them.
-
I think over time, the pressure of the truss rod nut against the wood compresses it, requiring additional turns to achieve the same level of relief, and its also likely the wood dries out and shrinks a bit. The method above enables me to achieve a few more mm of threads. On a decent neck its probably not an issue.
Interesting, glad it worked for you. Do you think it's a safe strategy, it kinda pre-supposes that the neck can be infinitely tightened? I'd be interested to hear what luthiers think? Cheers Chris
You sure its not the Little Mark 250 at that price?
