Bass is looking really good.
I'ts turning out really well, isn't it
How's the BFM going?
I'm so impressed that I'm inspired to build one myself. Well, two 10.5s' actually. I've had the plans for a year now and never found the time or space, but the wife and kids are off to Cyprus for a couple of weeks, soon, and I reckon I might be able to do one of them, and have time to clear up the mess before they return

Wanting to add a tube preamp sound to my rig...
andyonbass replied to OutToPlayJazz's topic in Effects
I've just put this up on the for sale forum - probably underpriced it http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry111765 -
I'm not really using this pedal enough these days, and what I really need is one of Dave's compressors, so here it is up for sale. Its about a year old and hasn't been out of my gigging case for a while. Look them up on the 'net and you'll see users rate them very highly. You will need to get a psu if you don't have one, as it doesn't run on batteries, but you probably know that anyway! I'm asking £65.00 (plus postage)

Thanks for the positive comments, guys, hope to have some more pics up soon
Very nice indeed! I'm possibly considering something similar! Si
I would highly recommend giving Alan a call, his prices are very reasonable, and the quality is brilliant. His customer service is first rate, too!

That is pretty much all the woodwork done, just the frets to be levelled then its on to the finishing process. I'm really pleased how this is looking

Zoom H2 - and here's me thinking my (not so) subtle hints had fallen on deaf ears!! I now need to find a couple of hours to read the manual!

Just spotted this bargain. I'd have it myself if I didn't already have one. Damn good basses, very underated IMO Check it out http://wwww.trade-it.co.uk/AdRef/TW747C5HG...llAdDetails.asp Now that with the villex treatment would be very interesting
Finished tested briefly - work really well with my 15 speaker
What 15 are you using it with? I've got a nemesis 15" cab at home and I've been wondering how well it would work with an omni 10.5 for a while, now
-
My justification for 3 basses is that I take 2 to gigs (main bass + back up) and one left at home in case the others get stolen or someone rear-ends my car and totals the contents of the boot (again). But what if that happens and my house catches fire? Perhaps I ought to get another and keep it round my mates............

I'd be inclined to try a decent set of strings on first, I've had sets of strings from quality manufacturers with one or more duff strings, so the odds of a budget instrument having a dodgy string is bound to be higher. It might solve your problem but if it doesn't, you're always gonna need strings!

I have a BFM Omni 10 cab, its the first one built by Bills authorised builder, Thumper, whom some of you may know. Being the first attempt, there are a couple of minor flaws, such as the handles are slightly off balanced, and the carpet finish has got a bit untidy if you look hard enough, but that doesn't worry me, because it sounds F*cking Brilliant!! I've been chucking it in the back of the car twice a week for the last few weeks, for gigs and rehearsals in rooms of varying sizes and this cab has never failed to deliver a decent sound. What strikes me is the clarity where every nuance of your playing is heard, there is no harshness at the top end and it has handled the lowB without any farting out in normal playing at gigging volume. I would say this is the best 2x10 I’ve ever used, and it outshines my previous Schroeder 1210 in so much as it doesn’t have the annoying (to me) mid bump, yet still cuts through the mix in a band situation. I use it with a LM2 head and a DHA VT-1 purist. I’m in Swindon, if anyone wants to have a go with it, preferably before my kids go to bed! I really rate these cabs and I know Thumper has sorted the balance out and I reckon the build quality and finish is now comparable to (and probably better than) high-end cabs at nearly double the price. If, like me, you haven't the time/space/inclination/skill/tools etc, its the ideal solution to getting a quality hand built cab at a very reasonable price
Although you might not expect it to, "Whipping Post" by the Allman Bros always goes down well in a rock trio I occasionally play in. Cheers, alun
Ha! Thats just prompted me to dig out the ZAPPA VERSION again!

tascam mp3 bass trainer or boss micro br
isn't itunes an odd filetype and not mp3?
i'm thinking that you could probably use songs that have been ripped from a CD using i-tunes but you can only play songs downloaded from them on an ipod. I guess you could connect an ipod to an auxillary input on the tascam if it has one -

Same principle as in the link above.
