1. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I pointed them to this thread and it turns out they've had a great time. Not sure where they've been yet though!!
She'll undoubtedly visit Abbey Road and with 3 of her friends hold up traffic...
. Thanks again!
 2.
100 Club
Would have been spot on for me - London Blues Week!
 3. Thanks guys, plenty to keep them out of mischief there...

 5. So my 18yr old daughter (who is an inspired beginner bass player) is spending this weekend in London, with a group of (non bass playing but music loving) friends and is looking for some interesting music related places to visit. I've suggested Denmark Street (or what remains of it), but at a bit of a loss for anywhere else. I don't think something like the Bass Gallery is likely to enthral her friends, however interesting it would be for her so I'm looking for ideas to entertain them. Any good music pubs around the Northolt area? All suggestions welcome Cheers Andy
 6. Here's a screenshot , if you're on Facebook you might be able to message the seller.....
 7. This? https://m.facebook.com/groups/298259546971359?view=permalink&id=958531427610831 Not mine btw!
 8.
It surprises me that considering all the love for ACG there's not a great deal of footage of them on youtube. There's a couple of videos but not a lot. I am looking forward to trying one out though, if I don't manage to take up any of the several offers I've had from BC'ers on this thread before hand I'll be certainly getting my grubby mits on one or two of them at the London Bass Guitar Show.
If you're in Manchester you could have a look at the Bass Lounge in Worsley - their web page indicates they have a couple of ACGs and Alpher in stock...
 9. I would have been gigging this by now if my Dingwall had sold a few days sooner! I sold the Dingwall a couple of days after your original ad was pulled so I ordered a custom bass ......could have kicked myself when it reappeared, especially at the lower price! I'm really surprised this hasn't sold, have a bump on me...
 10. Dunno if this fits the bill..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/184621401586617/permalink/1185952728120141/?sale_post_id=1185952728120141
 11. This is how I packed a bass I recently sent to Slovenia. Arrived safely in 4 days with UPS via inter parcel. I used a gig bag, loads of cardboard and large bubble packaging that came with a bit of Christmas shopping from Amazon. All packed inside a bike box. Oh yeah - my camping roll mat was sacrificed for the cause too! I would always put a copy of the shipping labels inside the box too...... 12.
Ordered a stock short scale Elwood and just received the confirmation from Adrian, should have it by Friday - cannot wait!
Nice one!! Does he supply his instruments with a bag or case?
 13. Its good practice to pack away the mics and drumsticks as soon as the last note stops ringing, 'cos everyone is a singer or drummer after a few shandies! If I have my decent bass, that goes straight into the gig bag too..
 14. Just completed the sale of my Dingwall to Simon, and I have to say it was a real pleasure and all went without a hitch. Don't let the fact that he lives in Slovenia put you off - it took less than a week from the Bank transfer to delivery. Simon is a thoroughly nice guy and is as good as his word. I would happily enter into a transaction with him again in the future. Deal with confidence!
 15.
Final specs sorted, order form revised and submitted, go-ahead received, deposit paid... YAY! It's happening!!! Now... to forget all about it until *that email* with the sofa picture arrives
Did you use "Transfer wise" to pay? Is it easy to use? I'm a couple hours behind you....😉
 16.
hey! stay away, don't distract him from MY order!!!
17.
roughly 12 to 15 weeks BUUUUUT that's worse case scenario ... you could possibly get it in 7 ...

Mines currently at about 13 weeks, but I'm aware that this is unusual for Adrian. Wood In Black got his at 7 but was quoted 12. So that can happen.
Something to look forward to over the winter....... Email sent this morning, awaiting response.....
 18. Any idea what the current waiting time is?
 19.
don't worry about your B. They're really integrated to the rest of the bass.
Thanks! I am on the web site right now!! High probability of an expenditure in the very near future!!
 20.
Shipping is included. Both my B strings are as they should be, in that they feel and sound just like the other 4 strings. That's running a 120 on the Elwood L5 and a 125 on the Jake. I came to these from a 35 inch scale Lakland, which was the first B string I was really happy with, and they're both at least as good.

All the instruments that I've owned. The best B strings have been on a Stingray 5 and a Lakland. I'm not sure why as we all talk about scale lengths and those 2 have different ones. I think it comes down to construction/pickups and strings. A tought B string I think comes down to many factors. My Maruszczyk has just as good a B string as both of those instruments.
Thanks, that is reassuring.....
 21. So you guys with the 5 string instruments - hows your B? I've had hit or miss affairs with B strings on Fender type basses and the inability to try before buying worries me..... Also, am I correct in thinking the prices of the stock instruments on the website include shipping to UK?
 22. Bump!!
 23. More pics as requested
 24. And replied.....😃
 25. I find an unlined board easier to play and you have the added bonus of not having the guitarist pick up your bass in rehearsal, twiddling about at the dusty end and pronouncing "it's bloody easy this bass playing lark!" 😉
