+1 to all the positive comments above. I have an RH450, RS210 and an RS212. Whilst I use the RS210 for rehearsals due to portability. For smaller gigs I have A/B'd both cabs (same venue) as a single cab solution and whilst both perform well, my preference is the RS212 as it provided a tone that sat better in the overall mix of the band. As I say, personal preference, but it might be worth checking the R212 as an alternative single cab solution(?)
Any suggestions regarding the ideal cabs for the RH450? need something very light and portable, I am looking at the TC RS112, has anyone tested these yet?
Hi, I've just recently done a couple of small gigs with my RH450. For one of them, I took my RS210 only and for the other, I took the RS212 only. I know that rooms, acoustics, etc can change, but the RS212 was fantastic on it's own. Depends on the sound that you want but I was really impressed with it's all round capabilities compared to the RS210 which was good but less versatile on it's own. Sounded great with both my Jazz and the Status. Cheers, J
Nice, was that the one off ebay ? If so you beat me to it, I'd asked for some better pictures but they didn't come through in time :-(
Yes, it was. I admit that the pictures weren't great but I decided to take a punt anyhow. It's actually in pretty good nick and all is good.....but I guess you didn't want to hear that Cheers,

So, here's my latest arrival. I'm reliably informed that it's a 1994 Series II - Graphite body, Blue Sims LEDS. Taking it to rehearsals tomorrow night for a good blast. I doubt it will replace the Miller Jazz as my main bass but not bad for a back up and encore bass! Cheers, Jim

Hi, Following my decision to move to 2x10 and 2x12 cabs, I have these two great cabs up for sale. Bergantino HT112 and a EX112 bought from Bass Direct in 2009 and in excellent condition. Both cabs are each 350W @8ohms. They will also come with the original Bergantino covers. I used to use one for rehearsals and then both for gigs. I'm based near J13 M25. Cheers, Jim
Hi grayn Nope, haven't got it yet They couldn't guarantee next day delivery unfortunately and it's currently in a Leeds service centre. Should, hopefully, get delivered on Monday. I'm getting the Artist model in trans red. It will be a bugger waiting for the amp but I've crippled myself financially to get the bass and there's no way I can get it before the end of the month. I do have a good external soundcard I can plug into though and some recording software so I'll be able to hear it through my headphones/monitors hopefully. As soon as I've got my grubby little paws on the bass I'll let you all know what I think. B
I think you will be happy. The finish on mine (exact same model) is excellent for the price. I took it out to rehearsals last week and it is one funky bass. I play in a soul / funk / R&B band and I used the MM p/u for the funky numbers and then the Jazz p/u where I needed a more rounded sound. The weight is good and it feels substantial. Only thing that I might change is that it comes with light gauge strings which I've not used for a while but I suppose it does give me an alternative to my heavier gauge strings on my Jazz. IMHO, you need to spend a little while with the 2eq to find what you are looking for but after that, it's a real plug and play bass. Enjoy when you get it!
Review added. I thought I'd do this after band practice last night (full electric) as I should probably be thinking about other things during the gig this evening Think of it more as an "initial impressions" rather than based on months of playing the bass. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=0#entry1166665
Nice review ead. I'm hoping to take my Aspiration Artist out for a full test run at rehearsals next week so maybe I can give some feedback on that. (loving the J/MM pick up config though! ) In the meantime, here's a pic.
I'll leave Fenders to the Fender experts, but the Lakland Skyline series comprises basses designed in the USA, with most of the physical construction (body, neck, bridge, tuners, etc.) carried out in the Far East, and the part-finished basses then shipped to the USA for completion, usually including all the electrics. The theory is that you get cheap Far Eastern build costs married to American QC standards. I've had three Lakland Skyline basses and, IME, the theory works pretty damn well. The one thing I'd love to try now is a full-on US-made Lakland, to see whether it's really worth (to me) three times the price of a Skyline.
I think that with the Fenders, it was a change in production factories that motivated the change from 'made' to 'crafted'. As for the Lakland example that HJ refers to, this is also a similiar princicple that we are seeing with the Overwater by Tanglewood basses - lower cost and higher volume production combined with local QC and brand protection.

Following on from other threads, the spring clean continues and here's a few effects that are sitting idle. First up is a boxed Tech 21 VT bass. Bought this to get the Ampeg tone which was great but not used it since I bought the TC rig so I'm moving it on. Box and instructions included. (velcro attached to back of pedal) £85 posted in the UK - SOLD Next up is an EBS Octabass pedal. Good condition with velcro on back of pedal. Price is £65 posted in the UK - SOLD Finally, a Boss ME-20B Multi effects pedal which is an ideal starter to effects with a wide range of sounds to test out. It comes with instructions and the Boss PSU. Slight used markings on the dials. Price is £65.00 posted in the UK. - SOLD pending the usual Cheers, Jim

Hi All, A couple of straps that are surplus to me. First up is a genuine Comfort Strapp. I'm not sure of the official size of this but I've just measured it at full length and it measures 125cms / 49" end to end. Price is £20 posted UK. Secondly, a Levys Leather Strap which is tan with a black edging (see photo). This measures approx 45". Price is also £20 posted UK - SOLD Cheers, Jim

Hi All, As part of my sping clean, I have an Ashdown After Eight 15W combo amp that I've previously used for home practice. I even kept the box and the instructions. Ideal for home use. I'm looking for £40.00 and I suggest at this price, it only makes sense for collection only. Pick up is near J13 M25 or I can meet within reason. Cheers, Jim

Well, I waited until the end of the day the Bass Guitar show (a little bit quieter) to have a go of the deluxe, jazz and artist. These are seriously nice basses and in my opinion, have set the bar for this price point. Nice and punchy with a very good feel and a good weight. My personal favourite was the Artist, based purely on the fact that it appeared to be a bass that I could grab hold of, roll the p/u pan towards the MM bridge pick up and play. Simple and very funky. Also, the J p/u was good and the bright switch (volume push/pull) did exactly what it says on the tin. So impressed, I'm now collecting mine this week !
