1. Mine is fine and has never shown any signs of this. Sounds like the one you have was defective from the start or has had a very hard life...
2. More pics and info available please?
3. I don't know of many companies more helpful than Sadowsky so I'd recommend contacting them. Whenever I've rung I it's usually Roger that answers but you could always email them or post on the Sadowsky forum. I'm sure they would have some advice on the issue.
4. Bet it sounds well beefy...
5. Both of these have been cut (a little) to fit a Precision bass but neither has had more than a few hours play at home/studio, no sweaty gigs so both sets in good nick. Pyramid Gold Flats £26 posted DR Hi-Beams 45-105 £18 posted
6. I am forever going in circles on this one - I can never seem to decide what strap length suits me best. I guess the aching is likely due to using the muscles slightly differently, as long as it never becomes pain I would stick with it and give it some more time.
7. Another update required. Few gigs under my belt with this and I am really coming around to it, once you are live and loud it sounds amazing. Everytime I pick it up I giggle a little at how light and well balanced it is, and now I've sanded the neck properly as advised by Roger (320 grit stearated paper) its even better than the neck on my Pino. I'm totally sold on it Now, if only I could play it as well as it deserves...
8. Very nice! I went to see Air playing at Somerset house last week (awesome gig) and watching him play stuff like La'Femme D'argent on his mustang makes me envious of this little beauty
9. I always liked the look of that bass - congrats

No pics, no bass... As they say
11. Did I mention it looks retro? Cool? Green & Black? Bump
12.
Just had a look at the Pyramid range, are the Gold's not, er, gold?
Nope sorry, not gold
13.
... You'll be getting rid of that nasty horrible Sado bass in my direction then!
Keep plugging away boyo! Actually I just got back from practice and took the Pino & the Sado so I could A/B them...somewhat to my surprise I'll be taking the Sadowsky to the gig this weekend. Who knows what might happen. Sorry to derail, carry on Gareth
14. Gareth, as you know I've owned one or two P basses since getting sucked into the world of BC. Beedsters Kylie, a lovely '74, a very good Jap 70's RI, the TF fretless, a Sadowsky Metro and now the Sadowsky NYC. Hands down my Pino is my favourite by a long shot - yes they are all P basses, and yes some of it is in my head, but its the fattest, warmest most comfortable to play and played with a pick it has a massive presence. Totally my go-to bass. None of the others I've owned have lasted as well. If the house was on fire and I had time to grab one bass - it would be the Pino. I reckon what you have is already great, so you can either try changing pickups to adjust the tone or settle on knowing that you won't be happy until you get a Custom Shop... I have a suspicion that the latter is what you want to hear
15. Bump - too pricey? £20 posted then
16. I had a quick go on what must be one of the newer versions of this that you mentioned (it was hanging up in the Bass Merchant). Very different bass, I really liked it although the combination of lines and dot markers completely screwed me up as I'm used to the dots "on" the lines on my fretless. This looks so cool I want to buy it just to stare at it! Best of luck Ped
17.
Sh*t the bed, man... what are you using for straplocks on that Fender? They're like something from Plumb Center!
That would be the industrial strength Ernie ball straplocks. I like something serious as I often want to shove my bass behind my back when playing the keyboard so its gotta be good for that
Very nice Jas. The Sadowsky looks lovely with the chrome cover on
Thanks mate, its certainly a posh looker!
18. These pictures were just taken for insurance purposes *ahem*
19. Bought this recently and made the mistake of buying it a bit too short for my needs...oops. Totally mint still. Lovely quality 10ft cable in a cool retro green/black style. £22 posted *SOLD* thanks
20.
I asked a luthier about this not long ago.. Jim Fleetham (I think his name was) in Ripon. My Cort funkmachine had a gloss-finished painted neck that I didn't like, he simply said take some 1200 gauge wet and dry sandpaper and rub it down. Believe me, it's great now.
I think you mean Jim Fleeting I was at his sisters wedding, nice bloke!
21.
Let me know on that TF Fretless by the way...should you ever want to sell it.
Will do, an imminent house move might force my hand soon as I'm now looking at another 25 year mortgage sentence!
Hey, if you ever feel like letting that UV PJ4 go, PM or email me first. MY PJ wouldn't mind a sibling on her side. (Or if you ever consider the possibility of swaping for a NYC UV J4)
Never say never
I keep looking at this...........
Andy, maybe I better get some more photos up for your benefit then! If you come to the Music Day at Christchurch Park you can see it in the flesh (at a distance admittedly)
22. Never say never, we all like a change sometimes
23. I've decided this thread needs a little update Initial impressions were good, after that I sort of lost my way a bit and wasn't quite sure about this bass. Having recently stuck the TI flats back on it I'm totally loving it, there is something about rounds and modern sounding basses that I can't quite get my head around. I guess its just not the "tone" that I'm looking for. So I've recorded and rehearsed a bit with this and really enjoyed it, just need to gig it now for the full picture. I'm considering it a keeper after all...the tony franklins future is looking a bit iffy
24. Totally, that looks awful now I was very tempted by one of these basses, certainly not anymore
