I had a Puma 1000 and the Big baby T handles it no problem. I now have a Puma 900 and a BB2 on the way. The RH750 is a totally different sound. Tecamp has that more modern, wide open thing. I bought an RH750 and tried it with my Big Baby T - the RH750 went straight back.

Just back from a BP service station meet up with Dan - great guy to deal with and a nice easy transaction.

I've been toying with a *slight* downgrade for a while and have just taken delivery of a Puma 900 which is more than enough oomph for me (being 600W into my Big Baby) plus it adds a headphone out and aux in which is very useful to me. No issues, no damage and I've always run it in its carry bag which does a great job of keeping it clean. Fan only comes on when you power up, after that it goes off and I've never got it hot enough to make it cut in. So basically its silent as a mouse. You can take it out of the bag if you want to be pushing the full 1000W at a hot sweaty gig for 3 hours. I realise there is another one for sale at the moment which is unfortunate timing as they are a very rare amp! £525 posted, payment by bank transfer.

I'd be happy to volunteer for this because: a) I'd like to try them I've got space to store them c) I'm in the SE However, Ipswich area is probably not very easy to reach and I imagine Cambridge or something closer to outer London might be better?

Like Nige, this comment is meant to be constructive, although it may present challenges. Much like a band (IMO) it is about the sum of the parts and not the individual. Making a band out of "dream" musicians might create something amazing. Or it might create the most unmusical pile of bollox ever. It's a tough decision because there will always be a small amount of risk that a custom instrument ticks all your theoretical boxes but turns out not to be "the one". Ultimately this is why I feel trying first (ie buying second hand or hanging up on the wall of a shop) means you get to de-risk the process. I've bought plenty of basses unseen, but never custom ordered. I'd recommend trying a few Mike Lulls

Oh, sorry to hear that you couldn't get on with the neck after all. For those reading - being a fat-necked-P-bass-person I didn't even notice that the neck was wide and thought nothing of it. It was only when we met for the handover that Clarky asked about it...at which point I thought "dunno what width it is, never really noticed" so we went ahead anyway as the neck is nice and shallow front to back so Clarky was hoping it would be ok. Cracking P bass. Covet not thy neighbours Pino, covet his Lull instead -
My advice is go second hand and try the thing out first. That way you know what you are buying and you won't lose any value if you decide to sell it on. Good luck!
100% agreed on this. Buying custom shop/boutique should significantly narrow down the chances of getting a lemon, but it doesn't guarantee it will feel like "the right one"
I can only endorse what Jas said. Its a fabulous acoustic bass, the best I have played. I only sold it on as it wasn't going to get used in my band. Its also in minty fresh condition
Thanks for the comments mate. I don't really have a use for this either, but I'm certainly not upset about looking after it for a bit longer
Why did you have to post that ?...
Sorry, it was well intentioned but naughty all the same...

I used to own an RH450 (with various cabs TC/Berg etc) and really liked it. I was considering going back down that route as part of a downscaling exercise, but the RH750 I just bought is sat here ready to go back to the shop on Monday. I don't know if I've just become so accustomed to the Puma 1000 or what, but I immediately missed the wide open, low end push that the Puma has. Pity really as I think the feature set on the RH series is great - and for those that don't know TC also have some sort of Xmas deal on their website where you can get a free gigbag and RC4 foot controller if you buy a new RH450/750 at the moment. I've now got a Puma 900 on order instead (not much downscaling but it does have headphone out and aux in that I need etc, which gets rid of my roland microcube) so I will see how that goes.

I took this in partial trade for my Mike Lull P4 deal with Clarky recently. Primarily to release as much cash as possible and intending to sell it straight on, however it was so nice it's taken me this long to put it up for sale. Great sounding bass, lots of projection (for an acoustic), nice DB style tone and good quality. If anything its actually made me want a proper DB again (doh!) Previous thread here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2245139 Exactly as it came to me, looking to recover £525. Collection from Ipswich area preferred, but a meet up is possible, and I can bubble wrap and cardboard the hard case for postage if necessary.
