I click on 'Share' in Soundcloud, then select the link text in the box that follows. I paste this into the BC post and... Voilà..!

It's so that it doesn't look stupid.

That, in essence, is the solution adopted, but using the Behringer UFO-202 instead of the X-Air (£18 instead of £400...). OK, maybe a few less options, but the music gets into the PC, which is the objective..!

Once you've seen it done, it works, but to the inexperienced, it's not so evident.

Gentle leverage with a thin blade. Here's a picture ...

More likely not 'the wrong way', but a narrow strap with shoulder pad, like this ...

I concur, on all counts, with the proviso that Superior Drummer 3 is far more expensive. Worth it, for many, but far more expensive just the same.

The pink sections are the non-4/4 bars (2/4 and 5/4...). There's a metronome click to help illustrate, with a slightly stronger '1'.

It sounds OK when Guitar Pro plays it.

Are there any other features of EZ-drummer type plug-ins that I should take into consideration? No, not really, for what you're doing. EZ-Drummer can be played from an e-kit, 'live', or recorded from such a kit; I don't know if that's the case with Impact or not. Am I making a mistake to dismiss MIDI loops and mic placement ? No, except for the ease of using a MIDI loop as a basis for 'tweaking' to one's needs. I often do this, as what I'd do from scratch would be close to what's in the MIDI file. All I need to do, using a MIDI file, is change to what I really want (dynamics, subtleties, accents, 'more' or 'less', depending ... MIDI Drum files can be sourced from anywhere, though, not just EZ-Drummer. Mic placing is of limited use for the type of stuff you or I are doing, I suspect. I do use the Mixer a lot, though, to change or eliminate 'bleed', or add/subtract 'ambience' mics. Nuances, though. Any other thoughts/advice on the topic? If what you're doing ain't broke, don't fix it. There are dozens of 'rabbit holes'; choose wisely. Is it easy to obtain packs of drum his with velocity layers for my Impact? Here, at PreSonus..? About £30 a pop, I think. Here's one... Tom Brechtlein Drums Vol.1 - Stereo ... Hope this helps.

Hmm... If you try to count 1.2.3.4. all the way through, there'll be moments when the '1' is no longer the '1'.

Singers who don't understand how music works

Well, it's well known that The Monkees were clones of the Fab Four, anyway, so it makes sense. ... -
Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?

Early days. Have patience, Grasshopper. -

If there's a demand, I would suppose that venues would open to accommodate that demand. It might take a little time, though, and may well be a bit different to pre-covid days. -
Here is my contribution to the July 2021 Basschat Composition Challenge, inspired by a picture chosen by the previous winner: Leonard Smalls. Nature has a way of responding to misuse and abuse of her bounty. Now abandoned by those hoping to make a quick (on Nature's timescale...) profit from this area, winds whistle and howl through the broken panes, rattling anything left loose, echoing in and out of the cisterns and tubes, pipes and wires; anything to display some disapproval. Are they voices, or is it our heightened imagination..? Heavenly choirs or shrieking demons..? Let your conscience be your guide... Organic synthesis here, using Reaktor tracks for the first time. A few presets, chosen for their fit, and lightly tweaked in some cases (too harsh, or too persistent...). A Kontakt 'Blue', mixed further back with a very convincing Roland Space Echo for the 'voices', all in Reaper, mastered with the Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain, using the Silky Highs And Lows preset. Thanks for listening, if you already have; if you're about to, enjoy.

That's an anacrusis; examples for illustration (explaining to someone how to do it, for instance...)... At the beginning of the Beatles' "Yellow Submarine", "In the" is the anacrusis, while "town" falls on the downbeat. At the beginning of the Beatles' "All My Loving", "Close your" is the anacrusis, while "eyes" falls on the downbeat. -

Some folk are more cautious, for whatever reason, concerning the risks of catching or spreading this virus. -
[Mod's Hat On] Enough bickering, and no rudeness, please. Trade definitions if you will, but no insults. [/Mod's Hat On]

You might like less the beer prices.

Typically, I've just found mine (to be truthful, it was Our Youngest that came up trumps...); I'm assuming you won't be needing it now..?

... which is exactly what we want..! Win/win..! We play the free gigs we're invited to, the others play the paid gigs we're invited to that we don't want. Great; I'm glad that's now settled, then..! Edit : It's been mentioned 'What do 'pro' (paid...) bands bring to the party that we don't..?'. The answer is 'choice of repertoire'. We play the songs that we want to play. We don't play stuff just for folk to dance to, or happen to be currently popular. We've chosen the songs we want to rehearse (and hone to a high standard, in our own view...); the folk that invite us to play are happy with that, generally, or will be, if they don't already know us. We don't get boo'ed off stage for being rubbish, but we don't play requests, or 'first dance' stuff. It's Bowie, Radiohead, REM, Noir Desir, Bashung, SOAD, RATM, Floyd and more. We don't know 'Brown-Eyed Girl' or 'Sex On Fire'.

Please be informed, then, that we (The Daub'z...) also play pop/rock covers in pubs, local festivals or fêtes, charity events or self-promoted concerts. Much less nowadays, as I'm not getting any younger, but still keen to do the few gigs left to me, as long as health permits. I've been playing drums for over half a century; for some years as a 'pro' in variety bands, either fixed or depping, and usually got paid (little...) for those dates. I also played most week-ends weddings and other functions as a duo, whilst building a career in IT and raising the family. All this while I've always been involved in various activities, as a volunteer for festivals, playing in 'ad hoc' groups, jamming with buddies or playing in our 'family' group, The Daub'z. I don't need the money (I never have counted on playing to live; I live to play...), and claim the freedom to be beholden to no-one for what I play, nor to what 'standard'. This has served me, and the folk I play with, well as a philosophy for all these years, and I'm pleased with the pool of family, friends and acquaintances I've accumulated over all this time. The financials have never been a consideration, in this as in other aspects of my Life. I'm not alone in this, and maintain that there can be more than monetary reward, for many activities, either professional, personal or familial. One other 'upside' is not needing the services of an accountant nor financial advisor. Having little is, to me, an advantage, as I want little. Complaisance..? Probably.

Fixed.
