  1. I still have the Sunlite interface from my Lighter daze; our current band (The Daub'z...) doesn't 'play out' much these daze, but I've a set of four LED PARs which I run from a laptop. It enables me to choose between sound to light or more ambient Fx, such as synchro strobes, very easily. It's not a faff if you've been doing it for a couple of decades (and if you like that sort of thing...), but sound to light works well, too. S'good to have a 'blackout' option to hand, though.
  2. Back in 2017, I posted a video of my 'Pica Studio'; it can be seen here ...
  3. Have you a source for that statement..? I'm no expert, but have read this (and maybe got it wrong, of course...)... Changes to VAT treatment of overseas goods sold to customers from 1 January 2021 ...
  4. Good evening, Alex , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  5. Quick..! I need a dose of Music..! Now..! Please..! ... And breath..! Ahhhhh..!
  6. Indian Heavy Metal or African Heavy Metal..?
  7. How would we know..? Everything sounds dreadful the same through a Future Impact pedal, as you prove to us each month. ... .
  8. If by 'metal' you mean 'bagpipes', the answer is 'No..!; otherwise : 'Knock yourself out', 'Fill your boots', 'Go for it', 'Try your luck', 'Garn, I dare yer'... (or, the short version : 'Yes, if that's what it inspires in you.').
  9. Being a bassist is not a pre-requisite of Forum participation, or even lurking. (I'm a drummer, so..!...). We're always glad to hear from you, and would hope that maybe some of the posts and subjects here could be of some interest, and worth reading. There's always GuitarChat, too..! Good luck, in any case; meanwhile... Keep well, stay safe Douglas
  10. [Mod's Hat On] Strike One ... We're wavering on the cusp of another Lockdown. Stop picking the scabs, and stay on the Topic, please. [/Mod's Hat On]
  11. I looked up the Tariff, and saw 2% for guitars (and 20% VAT...).
  12. Well, when they want some decent drumming done, I'm available. Edit : I just looked up an 'official video' of Future Nostalgia'. I'll look no further. Carry on, men...
  13. I expect it either 'logs in' and checks for a still-valid subscription at launch, or has a date stamp somewhere that expires after 30 days. Many of these subscriptions are for $x/month, but paid upfront for 1 year, so outlay of $x*12. Others set up a standing order for the bank (or Paypal...) to pay monthly. This is not from experience, however, as I don't buy things that way, so may be wrong.
  14. Do you not see the inherent contradiction..? ...
  15. I'll reply when I've heard it. Is the drumming better..? Not just a 'Big Beat' 'One-One-One-One'..?
  16. A shame, too, as they're darned good..!
  17. Good gracious, but that was painful..! Stripped down..? Shame the drummer was stripped out..! Maybe it's better (that's to say : radically different...) with a 'live' drummer, but that awful, awful beat..! Yes, the third track passes muster, but by then I wasn't really interested, I'm afraid. Dreadful..!
  18. Well done, lad; that''ll help the next person, too..! Have fun with it all. (... and, of course, a Happy New Year to you and yours ...)
  19. Is that absolutely certain..? I've bought, privately, RC 'plane kits from the USA, from individuals. I had to pay import duty (into France...), but no VAT. There were no invoices or such, simply the customs declaration given to the US postal services. Individuals are not VAT registered, either as sellers or buyers; how would The System deal with that..?
  20. So do Thomann charge UK customers for UK VAT or not..?
  21. Oh yes you can. It's not only easy, it's inexpensive. Tubes come in many sizes; I'd guess that 50mm tubing would be plenty strong. A couple of 2m sections, a few 90° bends, a tube of PVC cement and a hacksaw does the job. Probably no more than a tenner or so, and can be done on the kitchen table, or in the hallway. If you able-bodied enough to load the db into the car like that, you're fit and able enough to lash up a cradle, I reckon. Or use pillows, of course.
  22. OK, but it was worth a try. To stop the db moving about, would inflatable pillows do the job..? If that's too much of a faff (a technical term...), ornery pillows..? I make RC 'planes, and have seen Club members make up a rig, or cradle, from PVC tubing, to hold their 'planes in place in their van or the like. These rigs can be easily taken apart (the tubes just plug together...), so don't take up much room when not in use. Any good..?
  23. Is it totally out of the question to change for a more suitable car..? (Serious question, not flippancy on my part ...)
