I bought them all and they are very good indeed, in their genre. This 'closing down' price is a steal, a no-brainer.

It's 'old school' nowadays, but was common 'knowledge', 'back then'. A Marshall head was rated at 100w, a Marshall cab would have four 30w speakers in there, so 120w. It was 'normal' to stack two cabs, for 240w, and still speakers would regularly get 'blown', if the amp was 'cranked'..! It's not quite the same these days, with solid-state amps having overload protection, and cabs with better heat dispersion, but 400 valve watts is a lot of power; such an amp is capable of creating lots and lots of 'magic smoke' if it thinks it's being abused.

OK, no worries. If you're content to continue the use of your, what can be construed as 'abrasive', manner, carry on. Peace.

There are so many Resize options available, either as software or online, I don't see why you'd be posting big pictures at all. Another option is to host the pictures on a hosting site, and post only a link to the picture on that site. No BC server space taken up at all. Are these not easy enough options..?

I'm not sure that you've thought this through. 400w of valve amp is going to want double that in speaker cabs, if you want to turn it up at all. It's not at all like 400w of solid-state, and the cabs that would be suitable weigh as much, or more, than the amp itself, plus the sheer volume (in cubic metres...) that they take up, whether you're playing or not. It's really not feasible for general pub gigs, or any venue, really, except stadiums. A good bragging point, of course, and a great amp when used at its full potential; when are you next playing the Hollywood Bowl, though..? Does it go Loud..? Yes, in spades, with the set of cabs to match that power, but you'll have to factor in the cost of the Transit van, sturdy sack truck and a couple of burly roadies for the event when next out. You asked; you are now forewarned.

It's not only the advice given, but the tone of this advice; 'snarky' snide comments are not conducive to sympathetic reception of your core messages. A little less sarcasm and a touch more empathy may help; it's up to you if you wish to be more valued as a participant in this Forum.

Setting his track to run at 0.98 speed should do the trick, maybe..? I often do this to get random samples to line up (using Reaper; other DAW's are available, I'm told...).

Any picture of the car showing that one cannot see the bass should be fine, I suppose..?

I lent a SmoothHound transmitter to David as a temporary 'fix'; he's sent it back in a timely fashion. A Good Egg; cheers. Douglas

Your beaming smiles..? ...

Not as odd as all that, I'd say, and an excellent opportunity for a little 'networking' (assuming you're available to accept, of course...). No fee..? If there's no financial cost involved, to you, I'd just do it as a favour, and Karma can take care of the rest. Feel flattered that they've asked you; they definitely think that you're up the the task..! Jump in and 'break a leg'..!

He's probably the only one daft enough to still have this 'problem' for so long. Most other folk learn, evolve and move on.

I'm an anarchist; I do as I think fit, and accord this freedom to others, of course. If the bloke wants to bash his teeth on the mic', despite others trying to help, let him; it's his choice. I don't understand it, but... if that's what he wants...

Gum shields, then.

I was going to suggest sacrificing a cut-up tennis ball over the grill, but if even a 'pop'-shield is no good for 'looks', he'll just have to carry on his amateur dentistry. Vanity, eh..?

Quite, so the ideal monitor would be a pair, at 45° each side of the lead singer's feet. One would do, but best off-centre, at 45° (better for hearing it, too...). Make sure that the singer doesn't 'lean into' the monitor, ever, too. -

It's a better mic for lead vocals, anyway, so can't make things worse. Worth the money if the singer has a 'voice'; not so much for an 'Oi' punk shouter, though. -

Can you try a Beta 58A instead, for the vocals..? It's a supercardio, so will reject more from off-centre. A definite improvement on the trusty SM58, and a tried and tested staple in FOH voice mic'ing. Just a thought. -
Have a search for 'SM58 pop filter'; this will bring up a series of foam covers for the mic' dome. Inexpensive, but would probably need replacing quite often. If he's biting the dome, he's far too close to the mic', of course, but, if that's how he sings... There's a big difference in performance, too, between an SM58 and a Beta 58 (the Beta is a far better mic', and the dome grill is deliberately more dent-resistant compared to the SM58...). It's not a Good Idea to replace the dome completely, as it's there to protect the capsule, so a 'soft dome' would protect his teeth, but not the mic'..! Hope this helps.
