  1. A simple plug adaptor won't do the job, unfortunately, as the Zoom input is not pre-amped for a mic. If there's one 'on hand' it's worth a try, but the results are more than likely to be less convincing than a webcam. No, an audio interface with a mic pre-amp is the way to go, if the webcam doesn't cut the mustard.
  2. Your Zoom doesn't have the necessary socket, nor pre-amp, for plugging the mic into, so that's out. If you've any other mic, such as a webcam, you could try that straight into Audacity; it might be good enough for BV..? If not, it's down to the shops onto t'web for an audio interface. Always useful anyway, so not a waste. Hope this helps.
  3. I'd wait for further reaction from folks with better ears than mine, really, but to hear what's going on in the Fx department, I'd plump for isolated bass. It wouldn't change much what I hear in a band situation, though, as, to me, once the carnage revs up, it's all much of a mushness. It's just me; I could never master disto, fuzz, overdrive, whatever on guitar, either. Maybe that's why I'm a drummer..? No, change nothing until others offer their views, but thanks for asking; that's cool.
  4. Well done for shooting the video, with the incrustation and overlaid texts. Completely wasted on me, as I have cloth ears, and 'bass is bass is bass' to me, so the nuances don't come through to my brain. A fine effort, to be commended; I'm sure there's an audience that can appreciate these subtleties, but it's not for me. Disclaimer: I'm not a 'shouty-metal' fan either, but that's not your fault. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Good evening, BB, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  6. Whatever is most convenient in the allotted space. It makes no difference to the bass or guitar.
  7. You got dealt a tough break there, lad. I hope and trust that you get successfully patched up. Onward and upward, despite the setbacks.
  8. Yes, and it's not difficult nor complicated, when taken in conjunction with other basics. S'not really a 'subject' in its own right, but, as stated above, is an important part of the journey. Don't skirt around it; embrace it with the rest.
  9. PA for FOH and another for foldback (monitoring...), unless you're going 'In Ear Monitoring', which is a whole art in itself. 'Stereo' is not essential, but useful. Rough guide..? 2 x 500-1000w for FOH, n x 200-500w for monitoring. How many Aux channels on the mixer..? More is better, to enable a mix for the singer and another for the rest; sometimes a mix each is asked for, in which case a digital mixer and powered monitors would fit the bill. All-new gear can be expensive; s/h might be worth a look if some bands sell up, given the current climate for gigging. What makes..? We have been using HK for some years and find it worth its price, but we're not raucously loud. Many swear by RCF. We don't use subs (FOH for voice, mostly, and acoustic guitar, some keys; no bass in FOH...). Some need subs, though; they need more power and take up space in the venue, in the van and in storage. It's a choice. Other than that, what's your budget..? That'll dictate much. Hope this helps.

  11. Good evening, Toby, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  12. It seems I wuz wrong (second time this century..! ). I've voted, but can't now 'undo' my vote; the 'Show Vote Options' button has gone. Maybe see if @Skol303 can sort something out..?
  13. Good afternoon, Emerico, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  14. Bottom Left of the 'Vote' screen, there's a button 'Show Vote Options'. That should bring back the screen that allows further votes to be added. Three maximum, of course... Hope this helps.
  15. @Skol303 : PM replied to. Hope it works out OK (and a general 'Thanks' for running this stuff...).
  16. She got a bargain at 7€99, though..! ...
  17. Good evening, Dan, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  18. Good evening, BRD, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share. This isn't the right section for 'Wanted' ads. You'll get better response posting in this section of the Basschat Marketplace... Items Wanted (NO TRADES) ... It's free.
  19. Try Audacity (it's free...). There's better, but try that first, and see how it goes. Hope this helps.
  20. Now you come to mention it, I can hear nothing else..!
  21. Too many to list here, but top of the list would be my trusty Hofner Comittee, which has a lot of story attached. One day, around a warm fire, with a cup of tea beside, maybe I'll regale the company with its telling...
  22. OK, OK, 'my bad', as they (who's 'they'..?) say. '... in my mid-twenties...', obviously. Mea culpa; enjoy your belly-laugh at my expense, they're rare enough. ...
