What Drive pedal is it..?

The Blackstar should work on that laptop, but he'll probably need to add an ASIO4All driver to get it recognised. It can be downloaded (free...) from here ... Asio4all.org ... That's about the cheapest way to go, assuming that he already owns the BlackStar. Other than that, a second-hand audio interface such as the very popular Focusrite Scarlette 2i2 or similar will do fine, too. The laptop will be fine for running Reaper (free for 60 days, then a one-time 60$ fee...); I used a low-grade laptop for years with no issues. Hope this helps.

Of the 268 files in my 'Beatles Remastered' folder, I had already made a personal 'Yes, I'll listen to those' folder, which contains exactly 61 titles. The others I don't really care for, or should really delete. There's at least a couple from most albums, but nothing from Abbey Road, for example. Even from my 'Favourites' list, I wouldn't want them played in a repeated loop. A quick play of one or two, now and again in the course of a year, suffices largely for me. I consider myself to be a fan, generally, but not fanatically so. S'not all good to my ears.

Two options... Play only Slow Blues, or Free Jazz. For neither of these is precise timing an issue. Nowt much else, I'm afraid, sorry.

Speaking for France, this is already a non-starter. All gigs are 'off', end of, at least for the next two weeks, and, in all likelihood, for much longer than that. If the UK has not yet announced similar measures, I'd take it as 'said' that it won't be long at all before the same measures are imposed. If there are gigs beyond this coming week-end, I'd say that they are already effectively cancelled. Maybe France is a little bit more hard-line for the moment, but the UK will be, in a very short time, in the same state. Stay at home. Don't go out, at all, except for very specific, essential things, such as getting food or medicines. Gigs..? We'll see about gigs later on, when Summer's passed, I reckon. Sincerely hope this helps.

I've already ticked the 'Thanks' thingy on the right, but it doesn't seem enough, so 'Thanks' again, for sharing this link, and a shed-load of 'Thanks' to the musicians making music like this, with the fantastic bonus of making it available as a free download in these strange times. One may contribute, naturally, and it's worth giving back if one can. We're away from the 'normal' (can one say that of these Masters..?) renderings, closer to (but distant from...) the 'Shakti' era than 'Birds Of Fire', and present a refreshing aural bath for ears too often assailed by 'pop' tunes and empty advertising themes. This stuff will never (unfortunately..?) become mainstream; it'll not be played over any FM station I've ever heard (although John Peel would certainly have reserved it a fair chunk of air-time...), so lap it up whilst it's offered. Do yourselves a favour, and, even if it doesn't fit your listening right now, don't just junk it. Give it another go in a year or so, then again, and again. One fine day (or evening; whatever...) it'll 'click'. Quality will out; just give yourselves time to show itself to you. Thanks for listening, and taking time to comment. 'Comme Elle Vient' is a very popular piece from the French group 'Noir Désir', who, despite certain trials and tribulations, created many songs which get immediate and positive reactions from most of the concert-goers that we play to. Not quite in the 'head-banger' league (but not far...), and with pithy social comment as their trademark lyrics, their rather deceptively simple construction make these a joy to play (although I'm getting physically 'past it', and can no longer sustain several of these consecutively...). Our rendering segues 'Comme Elle Vient' into 'Tostaky', from the same stable; we have to follow these with something a bit 'lower key', so that I may recover somewhat. The last track ('11 Homm_Pres'; 'L'Homme Pressé'...) is from the same source, same epoch. A quick search on Youtube will bring up both studio and 'live' versions of these songs, for those wishing to get a flavour of our inspirations in 'covering' these. No, even better, here they are ... Good Stuff..!

Does this count..? First Isle Of Wight Festival, Godshill ... An unforgettable line-up of acts which went on to shake the world (or so I still like to believe...). Happy daze (very much pre-dope...). That festival changed my life forever, and I'm darned glad it did..!

No problems with cases of the sort, for basses, guitars, and even my precious drums. Not suitable, maybe, for world tours with huge backlines, but well up to professional or domestic use. If you're worried about stuff moving around, pop a towel or equivalent in there. I have a couple of real flight cases (for my cymbals, for instance...), but they're more of a pain, really. Thumbs up for these foam cases from me.

Try ringing out an octave harmonic. Just about any tuner will pick that up. You can also tune by ear, you know. It's very accurate, too. Harmonic at fifth fret against next string up should confirm your pitch. Tuners are great, but ears are good, too.

Indeed. Much as I like (muchly...) a lot of prog, fusion, jazz rock and much more, this didn't ring any bells at all; not the slightest tinkle. Badly-mixed drums weren't helped by the seemingly endless and pointless slatherings. No points from me, I'm afraid; sorry.
