We know; we can feel it from here. It's just triggered a tsunami warning in Java, too. -

Is there power available, or would you be entirely autonomous..? You'd want condenser mics, and a sound card with at least two mic inputs, both with phantom power. I'd use small-diaphragm condensers, such as the Superlux HI10 (inexpensive, robust...) or Behringer C-2 Stereoset (idem...). We recorded a stunt-car event a couple of years ago, using a Motu Traveller, with several mic's along the length of the track., which worked very well. Unless you specifically want to record the tappet noise from the motor close up, I'd say you'd be best a few feet away, in general. Try your rig out on your own (super..?) car first, to get some idea of what you want to capture, and how..? Good luck with the project; photos here, when you're done, maybe..? Hope this helps. Edit: Anti-wind noise bonnets may be a Good Idea too, depending on weather conditions.

Here is my contribution to the January 2019 Basschat Composition Challenge, inspired by a picture chosen by the previous winner: SH73. The thrill of the chase, for whom..? This is my interpretation of what it means for the horses involved. Please be careful with listening levels, especially with headphones; it may get loud (well, from the start, really...). Bass and guitars played by myself, I also did the drum programming. Horses were involved, of course, to keep the rhythm and express their feelings. No animals were harmed, however, in producing this work. Below, I've added a couple of photos as a mini-'making of', with a short description of the methods involved. Recorded 'live' at home into Reaper, and mixed with same. Fx..? Just a few, with the exception of the kitchen sink..! Thanks for listening, if you already have; if you're about to, enjoy. I took this opportunity to test, in brutal fashion, an amp I'd bought a few months ago now in the UK. It's a valve stereo power amp (a Kittyhawk; thanks again, HJ...), 2 x 60w, and turned up pretty loud. Plugged into my Bassman cab, a 2 x 15 upgraded with Beyma 300w speakers, modified to be switchable as two separate HP's in the same cab. Being a power amp, a pre is needed; I used our Boss GT-6B, as it has stereo O/P's. I'm (ab...)using a friend's Stagg bass, and it's recorded through an E609 mic. Here's the pictures ...

Quite the opposite; thanks for that, it sounded good, so I looked up the film, which looks even better..! No chance of seeing that in a cinema near me, so I'll see about acquiring the video somehow. Good Post, cheers. Edit: 8€ from Amazon, delivered, t'would be criminal to turn it down..! Bought (delivery tomorrow..? Somehow I doubt that..!:)

On a PC: Select the drop-down menu from your User ID and avatar, top right... Select 'Profile'... Select 'Edit Profile', top right. Scroll down a little, to find 'Location' in the 'Personal Information'' section... Add any other information you wish to divulge whilst you're here ('Birthday', 'About Me' etc...). 'Save' when ready. Et voilà; hope this helps.

Monster bass playing from Julian Crampton.

Not being an utter fan of funk, slapstick, disco and the like, I don't follow regularly these posts, but I do like to tempt the devil on occasion, and give summit its chance. Well, today, Chance has been on my side, as I gave this a whirl, and, not only did I not regret it (s'often the case, unfortunately ...), I actually thoroughly enjoyed this splendid rendering of bass virtuosity. This fellow makes it appear so simple and evident, too, with his eyes wide shut..! This time, I can sincerely say 'Thanks for posting'..! Good Stuff. -
Keeping it short, there are two things you'll 'need' for doing this. The first is an interface between the instrument and the laptop, the second is a Digital Audio Workstation (abbreviated to 'DAW'...); a programme that'll take what comes through the interface and record it onto your hard disk. Taking the interface first, have a look at this one, to give you some idea; it's a popular one which will do the job very well... Scarlett 2i2 Interface ... Once you've looked at that one, have a look at similar ones and choose one that suits you and your pocket. For a DAW, have a look at this one ... Reaper DAW ... Similarly, when you've read through that, look at others of the same sort and see if you're still inspired. You may have other questions once you've done that, but you'll get answers here. There is an excellent '101' guide in the Recording section of the Forum, here ... The Beginner's Guide to Home Recording ...which is recommended reading. Detail stuff, such as cables for connecting, which connection system (USB, Thunderbolt, other tripe...) will be dealt with as and when the situation calls for it. There, short enough..? Hope this helps.

In France, the retail inspectors would issue warnings, then fines, if prices were not correctly displayed on the goods, for shoes, food, instruments, cameras, toys... Everything has to have its price displayed. I suppose the commercial conditions are similar, so why should this not be practised in the UK..?

I'll tune the 'A' first, then tune the others to that ('E', 'D', 'G', then 'B' if the fiver, and lastly 'C' if the sixer...). I'll tune my drums differently, though. Bass drum first, if starting from scratch, then low to high toms, and snare lastly.
