  1. Good afternoon, Marshall , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  2. The poll only accepts one vote, not two. 'Finger trouble' from an inexperienced pilot, I expect. This probably explains why I'm not picking up all those 'secondary votes' I'd been counting on. I call 'Swindle..!'. Harrumph..! ...
  3. These two notions are often lumped together (maybe rightly so..?), but are, in fact, quite distinct. One's prowess at reading does not impart knowledge of theory, harmony, musical styles (although helps considerably when studying those...), any more than the inverse; the study of music theory does not automatically make one a good reader, even less a good sight reader. Both skills, plus, of course, a degree of playing ability, are very useful indeed, but separate notions. Just sayin'.
  4. I heartily agree ...
  5. Another urban legend, I'm afraid.
  6. Good evening, Jason, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  7. It's 'sistren'.
  8. Who knew..?
  9. It takes a whole month just to read the magazine titles..!
  10. Quite often, I don't like the original.
  11. God YES..!!! How could I possibly have forgotten those 2-3..?
  12. Strength: I'm a drummer. Weakness: I'm a drummer.
  13. Good morning, Andy , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  14. Good morning, Lazarus, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  15. Ah, but did you start off with the same number of each, eh..?
  16. You've obviously never heard me play.
  17. 'Stiff cost optimization' is the marketing-speak for 'cheapskating'.
  18. And were they right..?
  19. As long as you mop up afterwards.
  20. (... but no kissing, OK..? )
  21. Side_mounting is the answer, and would cost very little, especially if done oneself. Anyone bashing a bass in that fashion can hardly be precious about drilling a hole in the side, I'd have thought. Once done (and it can easily be done neatly...), no more jack problems. The string-breaking will continue, though, until the OP gets fed up with that expense. Kevlar jacks or unobtanium solder connectors are not the way forward.
  22. Creating music using programming is as much art as is anything else. What's so special about stuff being 'art', anyway..?
  23. Maybe they've all been 'floored' by whatever got to the singer, and the word has spread..? ... Good luck with the next gig.
