Good evening, Dave, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  2. Aha..! Kick-a-Richard..! Makes much more sense now; thank you.
  3. When you type 'can', is that really 'can' as in 'tin can', or is it another euphemism I've not yet heard of..? That's the trouble with all this slippage; once the basic rules are gone, there's no foothold, so it all goes to pot. If it continues, we're doomed as a species. Doomed, I tell'ee; doomed.
  4. Just testing; a short simulation to see what it could become. As you were, folks; move along, please.
  5. Good evening, Maplestiltskin (there's surely a story behind that..! ), and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  6. 'They' probably can't, but entry may be refused if failing to comply.
  7. Indeed, I'm using Opera, and switch between English (United Kingdom...) and French, depending on context. Check your browser options, perhaps..?
  8. Good evening, Patrick, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  9. Now, now; that's only until next week. Not exactly a two-year hiatus. You'll survive.
  10. It often means that they're about to utter a horrendously racist remark.
  11. A bit atypical, I'm afraid; it's a Hofner Verithin bass (glimpsed in my avatar pic...). Bass or treble p/up both work fine. I use the Sonuus for adding string bass, bass clarinet or French horns; stuff like that, in an orchestral vein. Not very 'rock', really, but I have no tracking issues. Works for guitar too, of course.
  12. It's true that I'm not a 'speed freak', on bass nor anything else, but my Sonuus copes with anything I ask of it. One of the benefits of being old and doddery, maybe..? (That's me, by the way, not the Sonuus..! )
  13. I'm not sure if we've been here before, but still... 'I couldn't care less about alcohol' translates to 'I have no interest in alcohol' ('It would be difficult for me to have less interest in alcohol as, by implication, I have none'...) Therefore, in opposition, 'I could care less about alcohol' means (to me...) 'I am very interested in alcohol'. Maybe this explains some confusion here. A strange expression, which seems to have come to mean exactly the same thing, to some, despite their being opposites. It's no wonder that World Wars flare up occasionally.
  14. Whatever method is used, the answer will be forty-two.
  15. OK, but try listening yo the others, not just mine.
