  1. Also... Select your login ID (top right...); there's a menu entry 'Manage Followed Content', where any or all topics followed may be seen and edited.
  2. A 'standard' palette is 1200 x 1000 mm (so diagonal of 1562 mm...) That's 48" x 40" in old money, diagonal of just over 61". How long is a 'standard' bass, in its case..?
  3. You can enter even if you've nothing but a kazoo and a wax cylinder..! The material used is immaterial; if you could see some of the stuff we've been cobbling up over these past years..! Just jump in; the water's lovely, and welcome.

    Hi folks

Good morning, Spikey, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  6. +1 ^^ (although I'll admit that it took a while before I could listen to all of '200 Motels' in one sitting...)
  7. There's plenty of books out there explaining why the Earth is flat. It doesn't mean they're right.
  8. The semantics would have it that three notes are needed to be a 'chord'. Two notes together are, technically, an 'interval'. The loose expression 'power chord' has crept into modern parlance, and is grudgingly accepted with a nod to rock folks, but definitions are definitions, so, pedantically, one would say that three notes are needed, at a minimum, to have technical 'chord' status. The debate will doubtless rage on, however, and the tectonic plates continue their voyage.
  9. The previous version of the forum had the same anti-cuss filter, but would simply replace the offending expression with a series of '******'. It was decided that, with the new software version, it would be just as efficient (at not letting bad language pollute the forum...), but more 'fun', to replace the words with 'lighter' alternatives. It may not appeal to all, of course, and is irrelevant if one doesn't use such language on a family-friendly forum in the first place. Hope this helps.
  10. Wikipedia's topics 'Dyad' and 'Power chords' are worth a glance, too.

  12. ... but it can be rendered inoperative; I select 'Repeat' (an icon at lower left...). I'd rather have the current track repeat than have a random whatever spoiling the mood. Sod, 'em, I say; sod 'em all.
  13. The same could be said of pretty wall all of the components, if going down that route, and about pretty well all manufacturers. It makes one wonder how the bass got bought, if it didn't sound good with the strings it had on it.
