  1. ? ? ? But basses can play all of the 'black notes' (sharps and flats...) anyway with standard EADG tuning, so that's not really a valid explanation as to why that bass was tuned down. A gentle bit of plonker-pulling, no..?

  3. Using that same 'logic', all Australians are Fosters-swilling, cork-hat-wearing, culture-less surfing loafers. Slightly reductionist, no..?
  4. Clothes..? No, that's the photographer's handkerchief; she's not wearing clothes.
  5. To be fair, I don't think one could describe Scarlett Johansson as 'new', and in some photos appears to have a twisted neck.
  6. No, we use a Venn crossover depending on the frequency of postings on the subject of sustain. It filters the 'Hi..!' part to the Drunk thread and the 'Low' part to the Depression topic.
  7. Make a nice pair, though, wouldn't they..!
  8. Be worried, then; be very worried. I've never heard of half the bands mentioned here..!
  9. Surely, as a 'syndrome', there should some medical connotation, as in 'suffering from GAS'..?
  10. You bash the strings so hard the bridge moves..? Remind me not to lend you my bass..!
  11. Good evening, Alex, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  12. Good evening, Caretaker, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share. @Funkfingers Innuendo..? Can't think what you mean. Reminds me of a little tale, though... A doctor made it his regular habit to stop at a bar for a hazelnut daiquiri on his way home. The bartender knew of his habit, and would always have the drink waiting at precisely 5:03 pm One afternoon, as the end of the work day approached, the bartender was dismayed to find that he was out of hazelnut extract. Thinking quickly, he threw together a daiquiri made with hickory nuts instead, and set it on the counter. The doctor came in right on time, as usual, took one sip of the drink and exclaimed, "But this isn't a hazelnut daiquiri..!" "No, I'm sorry," replied the bartender, "it's a hickory daiquiri, doc."
  13. I found my horn was a bit of a devil to play.
  14. To sound my horn, I had to develop my embouchure.
  15. @SpondonBassed I polished it up and I started to play it, in spite of the neighbours who begged me to stop.
  16. I once had a whim (and I had to obey it...) to buy a French horn from a second-hand shop.

  18. Good afternoon, Produkt , and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share. (but you knew that anyway, I suppose..! )
  19. Good afternoon, Tim, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  20. Not entirely convinced by the 'LIke most...'; I'd have preferred 'As with so many ...'
  21. I'm afraid I can't remember for sure, but the name seems familiar (old age, you see..! ). At such prices, though, it's really not much of a financial risk. It's more the hassle of installation, but I found my one to be easy enough, and wouldn't have baulked if it had turned out to be less good than it did.
  22. You'd still be criticised; you just won't know what that criticism was, that's all..!
