I tried 'bass preamp 3-band blend' in an Ebay.co.uk search, and found loads. I had to change a preamp on a bass a while back, and bought a fairly inexpensive one from Ebay. It works just fine. Is it as good as an East preamp..? Probably not, but it does exactly what I wanted it to do, no problem. Hope this helps.

'Sgood for oneself, though, even if they're never seen by the unwashed masses. Seeing and hearing how one plays can be quite a surprise. It's worth doing, if only for that, and, whatever the 'quality' of the technique used, it's a benchmark for when it's wanted for public consumption. I use my Logitech webcam, which has a built-in mic. I convert to Youtube format using VideoPad, but there are on-line converters, too. No expense involved, and the 'quality' is easily good enough for my poor playing. Good experience, though, and very instructive. Have a go..?

On the other hand, one doesn't have to buy instruments at all, as there are so many excellent Vsts out there for free. A great many wonderful libraries too, of course, at all price points, but one is not generally limited solely to what comes with the DAW; expanding one's sounds need cost very little indeed. I started out with a very low budget, and got by for several years (with Reaper, but that's irrelevant, really...) with no expenditure at all. I've made up for the difference, of course, having since bought (too..?) many instruments ..!

+1 ^^ Saw them many times, back then. Harvey (Richard, I seem to dimly remember..?) was a recognised top-notch player of recorder and penny whistle, a real virtuoso. The drummer's 'gimmick' with bells on his jester's cap for cymbal hits was comic, but only just, though.

They only look like black boxes when they're being used. These are small boxes. Why can't they be put in a cupboard, or sideboard, or wherever until you're wanting to listen to them, then taken out, plugged in, enjoyed at their best, then tidied away when finished..? At worst, make a cardboard, or ceramic, or sculptured 'something' to slide over them, thus hiding them from view, then expose 'em for listening. Scope for 'out of the box' thinking here, I would suggest, so as not to too compromise the acoustic qualities that are the 'raison d'être' of such an investment. Doubtless there'll be some reason why such an approach doesn't meet criteria , but that's how I'd go about resolving the issue. Hope this helps.

It does slow down half-way through, then picks up again. If you look at the trees in the background to the right, you'll see that they're being gusted quite a bit, and the clouds are going at quite a pace, considering their altitude, so yes, there's a fair breeze blowing. I suppose a video of a windmill when it's calm, and not turning at all, would have little televisual appeal.

I'd get them looked at, if I were you... On another note, our daughter is a paediatric nurse at the equivalent Paris hospital (Port Royal...), specialising in neonatal extensive care. It's absolutely amazing the stuff they can (and do...) do, these days, with, unfortunately, the occasional heart-rending story of impossible odds, too. Their work (and the St Mary's staff, of course...) is beyond value; the progress that has been made, in many fields, is remarkable. Best wishes for a positive outcome for the mite; be sure to post coordinates and links when you get your charity single out (a current link to the charity concerned wouldn't go amiss, either...). Well..? Don't just sit there..! Get writing..! ...

Personally, I don't see why cussing is needed in written text, nor conversation, at all. I'll make (slight...) exception for when a heavy engine part falls on one's foot, for example, and maybe (just maybe..?) for some (rare...) comic effect; other than that, there are, in my view, plenty enough decent words for expressing one's sentiments. And no, it's not a religious things, nor ignorance of the wide panoply of uncouth expressions that do abound; simply that I find such language to be mostly puerile, weak and generally not nice to read or listen to. I'm quite used to being alone in my views, though. Still, it takes all sorts, I suppose.

Indeed, but 2800 W for an acoustic duo with a budget..? Excellent stuff, certainly, but overkill for the needs specified (unless rich as Crésus, of course...).

What about the children..? Who's going to think of the children..? ...
