  1. Remind me again; you're not a marketing man, are you..? No..? Thought not.
  2. Is the selling of a bass with an unauthorised logo on it against the law, or is it not..? Your posts up to now seem to suggest that it is. Therefore BC must not allow them, or risk becoming 'second defendant' in a court case. Yes or no..?
  3. That's the spirit..! Now it you could only lead one or two others towards the exit, that would be very helpful; thanks in advance.
  4. What..? And infringe H&S regulations, to boot..? Are you mad..?
  5. This sounds like a plea for the Ric solution, 'just in case'.
  6. ... which leaves unanswered my question: How do I know that it's not 'pukka'..? That's all that counts; if I can't tell (and I can't, and nor can anyone else...) I'd just class the Report as 'Closed', that's it. Where's the proof of 'illegal' in any particular case..?
  7. I'm not 'into' pragmatics; if stuff is illegal, it's illegal. Pragmatics dictates that this topic never got started, as the rules you're now defending have been in place for... Well, quite a long time. We should all move along, pragmatically (unless there's anyone calling for the Ric solution..?). That's all; end of story. Now don't all leave at once, and use the multiple exits to avoid the crush. Thank you all for your time; until the next time... Goodnight. (... and the last one out turns the lights off, please...)
  8. We've already established that 'intent' is no defence. I'm a Mod here. If a sales gets Reported as being an illegitimate logo (of whatever company...), what, pragmatically, should I do..? I have no means of knowing if it's true or not, no way of checking whether the Seller's item is licensed or not, nothing but the Report. Do I delete the ad (that the Seller has paid for...)..? Take it to Higher Authority for adjudication (and leave the ad meantime, or 'hide' it..?)..? Sit on my fingers hoping the door doesn't get blown in by some SWAT team or other..? Unless there's a ruling on this, the whole topic is useless, for me, as a Mod. Do I allow the forum to break the law (that's now been pretty well established...), with no means of detecting 'real' from 'fake'..? The 'nuclear' option is one which guarantees that no more infringements take place. Any other option will be called out by someone or other as 'condoning illegality'. I see no middle ground here. I shall enforce, as a Mod, whatever stance the Admins rule on this; until then, I see nothing more to add.
  9. This is the original post (not a fake..!). The question posed was 'Should Basschat not allow inappropriately marked (ie: illegal...) items to be sold in the Marketplace..?'...). That's all. Well..? Should BC apply the law (which implies the Ric solution, to be certain of letting nothing through...). Well..?
  10. Have you tried rushing to the first fret of the 'D' string..? ...
  11. A set-up on arrival is usually easy enough on a bass, however it was wrapped up. That's not an option for this Pianet. which will be a beggar to tune, and will lose its pitch at the slightest bump or knock. Insurance won't help tune it. I still recommend taking it by car, oneself.
  12. No, they only address 3 channels (thus R, G, B...).
  13. Yes, but savoury porridge (sea salt, black pepper, herbes de Provence, sometimes dehydrated onion...). Porridge (or porage; a whole new subject for debate...) has properties beneficial to diabetics, apparently, helping with the use of insulin by the body. Tastes good, too..! Sweetened porridge, on the other hand, would be less good for me. That boat sailed a while back.
  14. Ah yes; that was it..! Fish fingers. I have my own recipe of sorts, putting two fish fingers to brown slightly in a spot of olive oil and a twist of lemon, whilst whisking up two eggs, a hefty splash of milk (seasoning, of course...) and two and a half measures of rolled oats. This goes over the fish; I turn down the flame, cover the pan and allow to simmer. I'll usually turn it over when nearly done, to crisp the top. Two mugs of Earl Grey. Delicious. Either that or a grapefruit.
  15. There were searching questions raised concerning Trump's hair being fake, but it turned out to be fake news, apparently. That's about all I can remember (but then again, what did I have for breakfast yesterday..? )
  16. Yes, that's almost an 'all singing, all dancing' solution, but quality gear just the same. At the time (decades ago, now...) I took the laptop route, using a Sunlite Dmx box, and it's very good indeed (I still have it...), but it's overkill for your needs, and doesn't, 'native', have foot switches. I was using it as the dedicated lighter for the band, so had my hands free for the keyboard..!
  17. Take the pills. They give 'em to you to help you. Take the pills.
  18. The only way to enforce a 'zero tolerance' policy would be the Ric method. Whether or not I, you, we or anyone approves of the practice or not, it can only lead to a total ban on pictures of trademarks of any kind in the Marketplace, as one can never be sure of the legitimacy on a forum such as this. That, to me, is the key element. It may not be a nice thing to do, or even legal, but to stop it being displayed on the forum: don't allow 'em to be shown. I don't think there's much point in organising a vote on the matter (even if the forum was ruled by democratic process, which it isn't...). Status quo, I'd say, unless someone can suggest better..?
  19. Well 'Hard cheese', as we used to say in my school days. ...
  20. ... and I guarantee that it'll be populated by some with 'Upstairs' or 'At home' or the like..!
  21. How did you get that filmed despite the court order..? ...
  22. This... Chauvet DJ Foot-C 2 - 36-ch DMX Foot Controller ... will do what you want, and is a good brand. Thomann have a similar product, less well noted by its Users... Stairville LED Foot 8 DMX Of those two, I'd go for the Chauvet. Hope this helps.
