  1. There were many acoustic and electric guitars made in the '50s that had chunky necks and no truss rod that are still fine today (early Hofners, for instance...). From the dimension given, I'd see no problem in stringing that up. Any tension that'll bend that would need an iron girder to counter it, anyway..! Our Eldest is building his very first electric, and has chosen a fine double-action truss rod for it, but the neck is far slimmer than your db neck. I'd suggest 'No truss rod'; it'll be an unnecessary complication for no real benefit.
  2. The only music I've bought this century has been CDs issued by members of this forum. I'm not sure if that's a Good Thing or a Bad Thing.

    Hello

Good evening, Twanger, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  4. Dedindi... May I offer you, as some (OK rather unfair...) sort of comparison, an old title from an early Fairport Convention album; the idea being to give some notion of dynamic and dissonance. Hope this helps; your stuff is fine; could be better still, in my humble opinion. Enjoy (..?).
  5. OK; maybe the topic title needs changing to 'The most musically popular musician of all time'..? Apparently it's synonymous with 'talented', so...
  6. Here's the view of The Musical Quarterly, 1915... The Measurement of Musical Talent ... ... if that helps (which I doubt...).
  7. "Who knows where the time goes..?" (Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention...)
  8. He ripped his leg on a protruding nail. There were tears in Kevin.
  9. You mean... write out a TAB..? ...
  10. Here we are, then; my 'cover' version of a song from my distant past... For those interested, here's the background story...
  11. I'm putting the finishing touches to mine, which I'm pretty certain no-one will have heard before; I'm not even sure it was ever recorded..! Those who saw The Alligators ( a group from the Chertsey/Weybridge region, early '70s...) might have a chance, but that's it. It's a song I've been toying with in my head for all these decades, and circumstances were that I did 'my' version (read: re-write...) this summer past, so here it is. Within the rules..? Dunno, but I'm an anarchist any way, so...
  12. +1 ^^ (Although polystyrene Stonehenges wouldn't put me off completely, opening pods that don't open would, probably...)
  13. It's just that it's the personal touch that's best when you're closer to Kevin.
