  1. I'd get them looked at, if I were you... On another note, our daughter is a paediatric nurse at the equivalent Paris hospital (Port Royal...), specialising in neonatal extensive care. It's absolutely amazing the stuff they can (and do...) do, these days, with, unfortunately, the occasional heart-rending story of impossible odds, too. Their work (and the St Mary's staff, of course...) is beyond value; the progress that has been made, in many fields, is remarkable. Best wishes for a positive outcome for the mite; be sure to post coordinates and links when you get your charity single out (a current link to the charity concerned wouldn't go amiss, either...). Well..? Don't just sit there..! Get writing..! ...
  2. [Robert Robinson]One of the Mods, you say..? Ah yes, but can you trust 'em eh..? There's the rub..! (taps side of nose, knowingly...)[/Robert Robinson]
  3. On the other hand, the video (alone...) would make a fine animated Gif avatar.
  4. ... and some folks still defend vinyl disks..? It sounds like Rice Crispies at times..!
  5. Aye for the first; Wonder why for the second..? ...
  6. ... or a photo of a basket of kittens..?
  7. Personally, I don't see why cussing is needed in written text, nor conversation, at all. I'll make (slight...) exception for when a heavy engine part falls on one's foot, for example, and maybe (just maybe..?) for some (rare...) comic effect; other than that, there are, in my view, plenty enough decent words for expressing one's sentiments. And no, it's not a religious things, nor ignorance of the wide panoply of uncouth expressions that do abound; simply that I find such language to be mostly puerile, weak and generally not nice to read or listen to. I'm quite used to being alone in my views, though. Still, it takes all sorts, I suppose.
  8. Indeed, but 2800 W for an acoustic duo with a budget..? Excellent stuff, certainly, but overkill for the needs specified (unless rich as Crésus, of course...).
  9. What about the children..? Who's going to think of the children..? ...
  10. In that case, he should be directed to the 'reacted' post, and not the first post of the topic (unless they're the same, of course..! )..? Just sayin'.
  11. Towards the end of 2016, I had quite a few plans for 2017. Things took a very different route. I'm making no plans at all for 2018. Day by day, week by week for now.
  12. Your Linda Carter ...
  13. +1 to all of that. Our eldest was a member of Kiemsa for several years; I did their sound, then their lights for a bit longer, even. They had a keen and growing fan base, started playing in local venues and self-promoted concerts, and gradually climbed up to festivals and headlining bigger places, playing every week-end of the year and more. They called it a day after their very successful second German tour, and the 'Adieu' gig was jam-packed. In all of those years (over a decade...), only the sound guy (Vincent...) got a 'salary'; all the rest of their revenue from concerts, CDs and merch was ploughed back into the next venture. They parted excellent friends; I still see 'em now and again, and none regret the time, energy (in spades..!) and money poured into it all. Net result, as far as 'living wage' is concerned..? A huge negative. It was (and, I believe, still is...) just about impossible to be a musician in that category and get a mortgage, run a car or send kids through school. Great for the young, but not an easy career choice. Great times were had by all, though; I've the scars to prove it..!

Good evening, Othy, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  15. He may be disappointed if he was expecting Lynda Carter..!
  16. Ah, those memories of tea under the pier at Brighton, eh..? We all have 'em. OK, I see it now. An even better joke. It's our old friend, the Cuss Protector at work..! Nice one..! I tried, I really did.
  17. Oh, I don't know; most record companies are rather revered for signing bands, I'd have said. I think you meant to type 'loath' or 'loth' (unwilling...), instead of 'loathed' (detested...). Just sayin'.
  18. Good evening, Nobby, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  19. You've bought a kazoo..?
  20. ? ? ? Optimism, eh..?
  21. Quite, but it might be. 'Tany rate, it's all there is, for now.
  22. Those that are reticent, or 'shrinking violets', may not, by their very nature, be willing to enlarge upon their choice; you may be disappointed. Just sayin'.
  23. Is this not enough..?
  24. Hat's..? Can't abide hats. As a school kid, I picked up a trilby found on the grass, put it on my head and got stung by a bee that was in there. Can't abide hats. We are all nurture, as well as nature. Much of our character is set in stone before we're weaned.
