The ad now says: 'This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing.' Wrong price, probably.

[quote name='chrisanthony1211' timestamp='1508173987' post='3390269']... Pictures to follow when I find a site that will let me embed photos, photobucket is not what it was!... [/quote] Using the BBCode link supplied by an external photo account such as Flickr, Imgur or Imgbb is a good idea; the photos are better presented and it uses no BC server space. I use Imgur (it's free...); here's what it looks like (the correct link for Basschat is in green...) ... Others are similar (assuming use of a PC; I know nothing of other devices...). Hope this helps; meanwhile... Have a nice day Douglas

[quote name='Steff' timestamp='1508158016' post='3390113'] I understand it's the forum rules but maybe leave at least the name of the member when deleting comments? As long as the said rule breaking comment isn't displayed anymore, it's not gonna hurt and I'd be able to actually contact the guy and discuss whatever he's got to offer. [/quote] You're right, of course. I used to copy the entire illicit post and send it back to the perpetrator, so that he/she may compose a PM with the same information. Why don't I do that any more..? There's too many of the blasted things, darn it..! Am I getting slowly more and more grumpy in my advancing years..? Quite likely, but I've less and less time left to do stuff on this planet, so I am beginning to pick and choose. Just for you, and just this once, the offer came from [url="http://basschat.co.uk/user/40446-chris-tommo/"]Chris Tommo ...[/url] If it was serious enough, you'd have received a PM directly by now, though. Good luck with the sale, however, and thanks for posting.

There seems to be a different target audience, I'd say. Some have dancing in mind (a Saturday night out at the pub...), others more of a concert attitude, with a (preferably seated...) audience listening and watching. In my (distant..!) youth, I can't remember ever having assisted at the former, but spent (too..?) many late nights at clubs, concerts and festivals of all sorts, watching and listening to 'live' bands. I can't really imagine folks getting up to dance to Pentangle, for instance, or Johnny Winter. Originals bands are in the latter category for the most part, I'd suggest, so choice of repertoire and pick of songs to do (including some covers; it's often done, and allowed...) have very different criteria. Maybe things have changed with the advent of discos and raves and such, though; I wouldn't know.

... and what do your second keys, second guitar, horn section and percussionist have to say..? Are they up to it..? What..? None of these..? It's basically a drum solo, then..? If your drummer's [i]really [/i]up to playing what that bloke on Youtube is playing, [i]he's[/i] in the wrong band. Those sights are very, very high, and if the full orchestration is not there, personally I can't see the point. It's a funny ol' world, right enough. You're in a high-flying ensemble; make the most of it and fly with 'em, but remember the story of Icarus.

It's the absence of the apostrophe which is more worrying.

Of course it's quite reasonable to expect hits from the '70s and such to be played on bass guitars, in the same way as Schubert is still performed using trombones. However, if the question means 'What's the future of bassists in future music hits..?', I'm not so optimistic. I reckon the bass 'sound' will still be a component, but there'll be less and less 'real' instruments of any kind, except maybe as samples. Bassists will still be around (although aging...), still bemoaning the long-gone heady days of 'slap-fests' and 'heft'. The world will move on, despite such acrimony, and 'Any good for metal' will no longer be recognised as a valid, grammatical phrase. 'Wodja mean, metal, innit..?' will be the future response, coupled with scratching the top of the head.

[quote name='lowdown' timestamp='1507902451' post='3388701'] In post # 2, although no F sharp is written on the clef to indicate the key is 'G', it is indeed 'G'. (same as record). In post #11 it has two flats, but should be one. Tone down from above. But I think you know that and are just testing us all out, you crafty senior, so & so... [/quote] 'Fraid not. I was just trusting that if there was no other indication, t'would be in 'C'..! Dumb or what..? I did look it up (I don't know the piece...), and all I saw was in 'C', too, so maybe I'm not the only dunce. Whatever; the second post is the first (in 'G', if you say so, but missing the sharp in the key signature...), but down a tone. Ignore the extra flat in the key signature (play just the Bb one...) and it'll be fine, no..? Edit: There, at least, is one advantage of Tab; it's correct, whatever the key signature booboo..!

Some people are born miserable, some people attain misery; some have misery thrust upon them. -
[quote name='casapete' timestamp='1507887750' post='3388529'] The part in post #11 looks like it’s in B flat but is actually in F?! [/quote] What key is the part in post #2..? It's supposed to be in 'C'. The post #11 version is a tone below that. If any other key is required, it's a matter of minutes for me to change it. Just say how much higher/lower than the post #2 version.
