1. I've posted this before: 'Fat Angel'. The very great Jack Casady doing what's needed with two notes. Beautiful time shifts, and delicious pacing from the expert touch of Spencer Dryden on drums. Beautiful, 'live' playing... http://youtu.be/O8M1oNgWhtk
 2.
... *sigh* Then we will have arguments over whether blackthorn is better than chrome plated steel for needles.
There's no argument to be had, there. Spines from Pacific sea urchins or nothing, obviously.
 3.
... I'm currently listening to Autonet insurance's hold music......
I know I shouldn't laugh, but ...
 4.
Are you all watching on PCs or something?...
What else is there..? (Shows himself up as being an old git, falling asleep on the bus and missing his stop, again ...)
 5.
...but you can't beat a good studio with a great engineer when it comes to making a great recording.
Typo fixed.
 6. Good morning, DB, and ... [sharedmedia=core:attachments:167528] Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
 7.
That's why you moved to france then? No need to understand anyone anyway? Rocking circumaural acoustic enhancement devices?
Yes, it's turned out nice again.
 8.
Updated first post with a photo now....thanks Dad...
... and a nice wide-angle view it is too; well done.
 9.
... is the bass sounding better now?...
Indeed it is; well done on that score. Still timing issues that need working on (that hammer-on, for instance, is far too fast for you right now...). You're playing above your weight. Not in itself a bad thing, necessarily, as long as you're also spending time on just playing correctly, using exercises or much less demanding 'play-along' tracks. Still, I don't want to discourage you; you're doing fine, really, but could be doing so much better if those fundamentals were better in place. Keep it up, of course; thanks and 'Bravo' for sharing.
 10. (Just to say 'Thanks' for the Mickey Baker stuff...)
 11.
I still don't think they're going to make any appreciable impact. There aren't nearly as many LEDs in the bulb in your OP as there are in the American DJ lamps for a start. You will notice them if there aren't any other lights on with them okay but not much more than that. Another thing about the lamp in question - you may well lose some of the LEDs. They're not the most long lived of LED products available.
On the other hand, they're not very expensive to try out. I had similar qualms when I acquired my first cheap leds, but, so far, I've not been disappointed with any of 'em, including workshop floods, main tube (ex-neon...) lights, outdoors auto-lights and several other types. They might go duff in two days, but I doubt it; if they did, their cost would be reimbursed. I've worked with pro lights (I was lighter for a band for several years, and assistant to a buddy with an events company, so I've seen a few...). No, they won't rival with Martin lights, but will provide a backstage wash in a pub or small theatre. Just my tuppence-worth, though.
 12. Good afternoon, Mark, and ... [sharedmedia=core:attachments:167528] Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
 13.
I already use ADJ par cans that are very bright and cost quite a bit for main spots. As I indicated above I was wondering if these may be a good option for a back wall wash
The answer is 'Yes'; be aware that you'll need 'line-of-sight' for them to obey the remote, though.
 14.
I suggest that anyone who is contemplating spending money on a serious home studio has a good read of my cautionary tale before getting out their wallet and credit card.
Would you have listened to that excellent advice, back in the day..?
 15.
hey congratulations I do believe you're deafer than me, I too have the fall off a cliff at 4K but goes back up for 8K
25 to 3, but it might rain. Take a brolly.
 16.
... Anyone used them in band or at home?
These ... Ebay: Led Floodlights x 5 ... I use these (in white only...) at home, as workshop lights, and 10w is very bright indeed. With the colour changing you'd lose a few lumens, but easily enough for a pub stage area, or back-lighting, as you suggest. True, they won't use your current fittings, but they can be stood on the floor as they are, or easily fixed to a stand of sorts, or clamped to PA stands for side flood. As a bonus, they're waterproof for light rain, at least, so could be risked outdoors. I'll be getting a set like this for our next gigs, if I get well enough to gig again. Certainly not 'pro' quality, but those that I have are well made and reliable. Being LED, they are pretty well shock-proof, don't heat up much at all and last a very long time. Just my tuppence-worth; hope this helps.
 17.
How do you go about proving the existence of a verbal contract?
Witnesses..?
 18.
...this is a far better test, mimics what audiologist use...
Indeed, far more accurate. Here's my result (Yes, I know; I'm deaf ...)... Far from the 'Under 25' that the other rubbish test gave. Jokers..!
 19.
...Is a J Bass going to be any easier to learn on than the current Schecter?
I'm not expert in the matter, but I can't imagine for one second how a J-bass is going to be any easier (or harder...) to learn on than your current bass, except for the purely subjective notion of motivation. If it pleases you to change, there's no problem, but they're just as hard (or easy...) as each other, as far as learning to play the bass is concerned. Your call, of course, and well done for wanting to get started on lessons (always a Good Thing...) but don't delude yourself. I'll pass on my usual encouraging remark, though... It's the first forty years or so that are the hardest, after which things sometimes tend to get (slightly...) better. Good luck, whatever you decide.
 20.
...it's not jumping out at me how to do it...
Here's a short video tutorial; there are many others on t'tube... http://youtu.be/72ewbraagj8 Hope this helps.
 21.
I'll have to ruminate on that one.
Oh dear..!
 22.
Indeed. I hear they are lovely in a stoat and kidley pie too.
A kid'll eat ivy, too. Wouldn't you..?
 23.
You're kidding!
Virgin goats don't kid, obviously.
