Komplete software and hardware bundles on offer at absolute music, ends today (10th July)
Ordered, but the payment process has got stuck, not recognising the delivery method (downloadable software, so...). I've sent off a PM to 'em asking how to proceed, we'll see what transpires.
Over the last dozen years I've listened to all their albums...
Some folks get nothing from opera, others cannot understand the popularity of rap. There are even those that never 'connect' with folk music or free jazz (or so I'm told...). Well, that's just the way of the world, innit..? Enjoy what you enjoy and leave the rest if it's not for you.

You may like to cast a glance at the numerous offers the the forum Marketplace ... Basses For Sale ... Some bargains (several nice instruments at £300 or less...), many (or most..?) are already well set up; there may be someone local to you, too. Worth a look..?
...or not!...
No, that's too cruel, and really unjustified. There is, somewhere in the Universe, on a far-flung planet, a place for music of the sort. There, Capt. Beefheart is revered, the lyrics of Doors tracks are fully understood and Canned Heat drones resound endlessly around the vast plains. Meals are taken out on the gun emplacement, thus avoiding unnecessary queuing for a seat on the quarterdeck. No anger, no violence, no angst, just the incessant driving forward (or not...) of the musical boundaries that encircle that globe. Yes, it is in rapid expansion; inevitably our dear planet Earth will become, in time (probably 4/4...), engulfed in the raucous circus of it all, and we'll thank Lenny for having brought it to our ears first. Or not. Mighty meaty, matey; thanks for sharing.
... Here's a soundfile of Alicia's Keys piano playing a low C note through it...
That sounds exactly like my very first all-transistor guitar amp build, back in the late '60s..! I did, eventually, manage to fix it, though; I wish you the same success. ... (Incidentally, we have an old D110 rack synth module which has lost all control; we use it (occasionally...) for genuinely random sounds. Sometimes bleeping like Telstar, ramping up and down the frequencies whistling, or imitating a stranded blue whale; we never know, nor can produce twice, what will come out. Useful, sometimes (but not often, I'll admit. More nostalgia value, really...).
... Will appreciate any help on that topic.
You could do worse that this, for the very modest cost... Mickey Baker's Complete Course In Jazz Guitar .. Don't be put off by the title; have a look inside (or buy it on 'spec; it's worth every penny, whatever...), and give it a go. I bought this (in ignorance, at the time...) nearly fifty years ago, and still go through it now and again (I've bought it several times over, as copies got lost or worn out...). There is a Book 2, which is equally excellent, but start off with the first one, then go wild and splash out on the follow-up when you're ready. Just my tuppence-worth; hope this helps.
...super happy with how this has come out!
...and rightly so. I'll freely admit that this is far from my 'speciality subject', but NIN and Marilyn Manson would not be disgraced in producing stuff of this quality. Two special mentions: the drums are very, very good, nicely mixed in their 'sweet spot', neither too buried nor 'in your face', and the cymbals cut through very well indeed. Congratulations, too to ol' Leather Lungs, whose pipes are in full working order. Incomprehensible lyrics, which is probably a shame, but that's quite the norm, it seems, in this vein. Nevertheless, stout vocals, again superbly placed in the sonic field. The rest..? No less admirable, and equally well served by the mix, allowing the wall of sound to support the themes and evolutions tastefully, and more than competently. Yes, I include the bass in that, although my old cloth ears are unable to unpick the weave and weft of the arrangement. Nothing sticks out, though; no broken threads. Oh, sorry; that was accidental. 'Broken'. Apt, but involuntary. Nowt Broken there; carry on like that and you'll (all...) become famous one day. Good Stuff, well done all concerned; thanks for sharing. . -
Well, no dad. I'm not attempting to defend these vocal effects, its just an observation?
The ' ' smiley that I often use denotes, I hope, a certain languid, 'tongue-in-cheek', sardonic intention, usually (but not always...) for posts supposed to be 'dead-pan' humour. I understand that this does not, in every case, get interpreted in that fashion, for which I apologise. No malice intended; respect. Cool.
-
I hope you're right, because there does seem to be a growing trend of using these heavily processed effects on vocals in both chart and non chart music...
Slightly less so in operatic circles.
-
stupid question time , granted probably theoretical due to accuracy issues , but supposing you re-recorded the bass line along to the original , inverted this wave form and mixed together , would that not eliminate the bass track I'll get my coat
Yes (theoretically...), along with any other stray frequencies shared from the other instruments and voices. Nice try, though; 6/10 for effort.

Yes, they'll fit OK, it seems. As to a 'Jaco' sound, any Jazz will get somewhere there with adequate strings, a nice amp and reasonably competent playing. A 'Wal' sound would be a different kettle of fish; I don't think that there's much short of a Wal for that, but could be wrong. Not sure if any of this helps much; the real answer's a lemon: suck it and see.
It's for a six sting. ...
This ... Bartolini M44S-B/T ... ... seems to be the equivalent (it's a 'Singularity' design, like the P46...), but it's 100 mm long. What p/up cavity do you have, and what p/ups are presently in there..? Would routing pose a problem to you..?
-
So to be more specific with the 'kind' of sound I'm after...
It says in the clip that these are P46 p/ups. Isn't that close enough information for what you're after..? A search on the Bartolini site brings up all the variants of that p/up.
