1.
... He just doesn't/didn't seem to have a clue.
Somewhat summary as a critique, I'd say. I suppose we are to gather that you don't like something about his style. And your drumming heroes are..?
 2.
I have always assumed "comping" was a abbreviation for accompanying as in :- During the flood grandma floated away on the grand piano and grandpa accompanied her on the double bass . Carry on OT.
That's my interpretation, too, but I believe there's local variation, and sometimes, context breeds differing uses of the same term.
 3.
No, you misunderstood. I was using the Ringo element as a metaphor, much in the same way as GH only got a song or two. I know full well it's a Harrison tune...my mumma didn't raise me as a mouth-breather.
OK, as you were. Just struck me as odd, s'all. Carry on regardless...
 4.
Oh great pic!
+1 I hear an Alberti bass coming on...
 5.
I remember a bloke I used to play with always said that they had to give Ringo a song, more out of sympathy than anything else, but for love of whatever where were their heads at to include Within You Without You on the album?...
Ringo Starr..? Wikipedia: Within You Without You ...
 6.
in fairness that is from a drummer, sorry, drumber, so the fact he can even hold a pencil puts him in the advanced class
7.
...with the exception of Within You Without You. It just ruins the flow of the album and had my finger hovering over the fast forward botton. Shockingly awful.
One had to 'be there'.
 8. All of this, although technically fascinating, is, in my view, complete overkill for domestic, amateur use. Of course, if one can do more, one can do less, so it's all useful info, but it's going to be a long time before I need more than my i5 proc or SSD. Not knocking it; if I was Cresus I'd probably bite the bullet, but my meagre resources don't spread to these 'cutting edge' techniques. I don't feel handicapped at all by my modest 'lean' system. Just sayin'.
 9.
Disraeli gears Surrealistic Pillow The Doors/Strange Days Are You Experienced/Axis Bold As Love Procol Harum Piper At The Gates Of Dawn There must have been something in the water...
Snap, so +1. Yes, I still listen to all of those with great pleasure (as well as more recent, and much older (Schubert..? Bruckner..?) stuff...). It's all good, but special mention for 'Surrealistic Pillow'. S'been a long time comin'; s'gonna be a long time gone.
 10. 33..? Some of us here are already twice that..!
 11. And the winner is... WILD FROG SHOT..! [sharedmedia=core:attachments:167486] Here, then, is your Winner's Certificate (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... ... which looks like this (but bigger, of course..!)…
 12.
How wrong you are...
Gets my vote; his best work yet. Still not enough cowbell, however.
 13.
I'm watching this now in iPlayer....
+1 Post of the week. Excellent review, spot on in all respects. Respect.
 14.
Have I missed something here? What's mr. smalls done?
You're new here, then..?
 15.
I'm really struggling to vote. Every song has something unique about them. Would it be fair to say I'll give my vote to the three that received lesser votes?
The criteria for attribution of your vote are entirely up to you. There is no 'Skol Force' about to swoop down on those deigning to ignore the suggestions, despite all his bravado and bluster. Do as you think best, decide how you wish, invoke the hidden Punk in you, and be satisfied that you've made at least someone happier. 'Does it fit the picture..?' was the original notion, but we've come a long way down the anarchy trail since then (sic Lenny. and a few other rebels..). Feel free, old chum; feel free...
 16.
see this this is exactly why it became a running joke that means I'll always use the wrong spelling...
It's taken me several years to get used to 'teh', or 'TIM' (and I still wake at nights, mumbling and shivering, at times...), and now there's a new one to provoke ripples in this millpond. Oh, well...
 17.
... Have you ever thought of putting together a series of videos regarding this, as a sticky, maybe ?...
Modesty forbids it.
 18. ... and no-one will get hurt. Here's the stuff; just do it, you know it makes sense... Skol's Reminder ... Pop to the Top and chill out.
 19.
...and find that I'm still doing it...
WELL, DAMN WELL STOP IT..! ...
 20. Am I allowed to pedantically suggest that it should be 'cue', as in 'that's when to come in', rather than 'queue', where one waits in line to get served..? Just sayin', no malice intended.
 21.
... Don't know how to make YouTube window...
Remove the 's' from the 'https' at the beginning of the link, s'all. Nice solo, too; not too long..!
 22.
If you don't run Reason, you need Reason
I'll consider this once I've worked out what Reason can do for me that Reaper can't, and I have €369 spare. That may well not be next week.
 23.
...and the custard shop had only recently started...
Their basses were 'la crèmé de la crème', I suppose..?
 24.
In just seven days, she can make you a man ...
It took my mum nine months, I think.
 25. 'Fat Angel', Jefferson Airplane with Jack Casady on bass, or... 'What to do with only two notes' (OK, and a couple of grace notes, if you insist...). A lesson in parsimony... http://youtu.be/O8M1oNgWhtk
