No idea what that rig is, but I'd recommend that it be repaired. Bloomin' awful racket from beginning to end, even taking into account that it's a 'phone recording. They finished (not too soon...) on one that I actually recognised (yes, 'Killing...'), as we 'cover' that in our set. I prefer our one, by a long chalk. Still, if it pleases some. Much ado about nothing, as far as I'm concerned...

Of course one bass is fine for a great many (most..?) folks. I spent several years with my Verithin into a Fender Bassman 50w and 2 x 15, our youngest now plays our Douglas (yes, I know..!) sixer fretless, Hiwatt 200w into HH 2 x 15 horn cab. We have a bass floor pedal gathering dust, as we find that 'one size fits all', and have never had complaints (rather the opposite; we're often complimented on the bass sound...). Our repertoire is varied, the guitars do the 'heavy lifting' tonally, and have racks and all to cope, including swapping when they feel it's required, but the bass remains the same. RATM, Jeff Buckley, AC-DC, the Floyd, Muse... they all sound good. As an aside, I have also been playing the same drums for nigh-on fifty years, now. All sorts of gigs , bands and orchestras. I've never felt the need to have a Ludwig Oyster Pearl kit, but have never needed to change kit for salsa, rock, folk, pop, waltzes... One kit (as long as it's a good'un...) does it all, and it's the same with basses for most players. I'll admit that, for getting a 'tribute' sound, or for deliberately wanting to create something especially 'out there', there are many reasons for changing instrument, but for the most part, any decent bass will do a darned good job in the right hands. Not likely to be popular with those following trends or fashions, I know, and maybe a blow to the global economy, but that's how I see it. Yes, a 'P' is fine. So is a 'J', or an Ibby, or a Riccy, or ... Snobbery is not (yet...) dead,though.

I'm surprised, reading all of this, that Sir Macca ever got anywhere at all. A Precision is all there is in the Bass World..? I'm only a drummer, so I wouldn't know, of course, but I still say 'Poppycock', so there. You really are a funny old lot, sometimes.

A piece comes to resolution (and therefore sounds comfortable...) when it returns to the tonic sound, and comes to rest. Very many (not all, but very many...) pieces of music finish on the tonic note or chord. Think of major orchestral stuff, at the end going, apparently endlessly, through those repeated big orchestral 'hits' until, finally, settling on 'Ta-Dahhhhhhhh', followed by applause. That's the tonic (as in 'tone', not gin and tonic...) of the piece performing its role as resolution.

+1 I concur heartily and entirely with the above. Excellent work, could still be improved. Well done all. (I found that the 'trick' with having a section 'jump out at you' is to have a slight volume increase for a second or so, but it actually subsides to the 'regular' volume, ready for another go. It's unusual (but maybe an artistic choice..?) to have such a disparity in volume between the sections. A [i]slight [/i]difference, with a subtle 'surge' for a bar or so is, in my view, more effective. Just sayin'...)

He'll fit it all together, solderless for future upkeep, and it'll come back 'tiptop'. I wouldn't recommend messing about with sticky tape, except to try something out 'quick 'n dirty'. Get it done properly by the Expert; your bass is worth it, no..?
