This is (roughly...) where the bridge should measure 43.2, hence the 'front' of the bridge at 41... Hope this helps; subject to completion, correction and/or contradiction from others.

Yes, the 4 x 10 cab and 2 x 10 cab will absorb the same power. At full whack, each 4 x 10 speaker (yes, I'm that old...) will be taking 150w/4 (37.5 each), the two in the 2 x 10 will each have 75w to dissipate. As each speaker is rated at 100w, in theory there should be no problem. That, however, is roughly where the maths runs out and the ears (and brain, listening...) come in. You'll hear if there's a problem.
... As for the set list...
Our chum will doubtless confirm or deny, but I don't think it's that hard to have a set consisting of blues/rock stuff in that ilk. I would imagine that these are not two-minute punk utterings, probably more like five to ten minutes. Red House..? Cocaine..? Sunshine Of Your Love..? Knockin' On Heaven's Door..? On a really hot night, Europa..? The American jazz scene has the whole Real Book to choose from as a repertoire; I'd imagine that these bar bands have an equivalent portfolio of '60s/'70s blues-rock numbers; we all know them. No-one has to 'agree' anything; the front man (or lady...) calls one out, and they play it. How hard can it be to put Voodoo Chile under one's belt..? Twenty numbers for two hours, rinse and repeat..? Swap 'em around a bit..? If someone has been playing this stuff for a couple of years, I can imagine that a hundred tunes are easily available and on tap. S'not the same as a 'democratic' pub band all eager to do different genres. As a drummer, I could play any of that stuff for two or three days and not repeat a title. Most of that drumming is basically 'Ting-Tingty-Ting', anyway. Maybe I'm wrong, though...
I think Dad's puzzlement is perhaps more due to this thread being about Lady Gaga playing the role of Cilla Black (or not) rather than about Cilla Black.
Indeed. I suspect that the 'tongue in cheek' aspect of some of the posts has gone unnoticed. No qualms, myself, concerning the cheeky scouser; she was right up there with the Dusty Springfields of this world.

Most often, big filter caps will show physical signs before failure, typically bulging and/or leakage. Many caps have 'escape vents' that pop if there's a build-up of pressure inside. Often, these caps are spec'ed close to top limit. Other than that, if there's no sign of deterioration, it changes nothing to swap 'em out; new caps can fail, too. My Hiwatt and Fender still have their original caps, with no symptoms. I'm well qualified for changing them, and wouldn't hesitate if there seemed any risk, but for now, all is well. Still, if I'm not heard of for a few weeks, maybe someone could come and pull me free from the smoke-filled room, please..?

Some of the above are overlooking the existence of other forms of gig than a rock concert. For variety orchestras, there is a clue in the name: variety. A typical evening would cover a wide spread of musical styles, most apt for dancing, but not all catering for the same dances. There would be a session of waltzing, some quick-step, a few tangos, some rock'n'roll, a bit of twist... The evening would be an event for the whole village or town, and entire families would attend; the music reflected the mix of generations. Many a couple would be formed with these social occasions. It's not all rowdy pubs and punk; there are other gigs. Typical ambience... Just sayin'.

Posted in 2014, but seems appropriate...
There are all sorts of events on the periphery of the annual Printemps de Bourges festival here in France. Our band were invited, with 4 gigs and a showcase to play, all in one day. We hadn't even thought about PA until, arriving at the first bar venue, the bloke was astonished that we hadn't brought one, as he had nothing. Our tech had to hunt up in double quick time a system (mid-festival, it's not easy to find any 'spare' gear locally..! ). We did the gigs. For the anecdote, in one tiny bar, packed to the hilt, the enthusiastic audience reaction was such that all the tables, bolted to the floor with cast-iron Art Deco legs, were busted right off, leaving potentially deadly spikes sticking out of the floor. The LL wanted us out, but he got convinced to let us finish if we could keep the crowd under control. I ended up as 'bouncer', trying to fend off the fans with PAR 56 cans..! Hectic, really hectic. Yes, the whole event was tiring. Happy days.

Here's mine ... BC Noodle 2016, May ... A quick check-out of our OLP Baritone guitar, tuned as a bass. One take, no treatment whatsoever; I didn't even check the tuning..! Both p/us, fully 'open', played to a 'click' at 120 bpm.
So my band finally released a single...
[sharedmedia=core:attachments:167486] Nothing to add. Nothing to take away. Nigh on perfection. Special mention for (well, everyone, really..!), but I do like that discreet blast beat punctuation from the drums. Bass tone..? Ideal for the job. Guitars..? Suitably panned, suitably together, suitably apart. The singing..? Spot on, including BV's. Best production job I've heard in a fair while. Good, solid lyrics, perfectly audible, splendid sober video... I could go on, but you'd only get even more embarrassed. Well done; congratulations to all involved. Edit: I could comment on the grammar of this topic's title, but I assume that it's a deliberate, provocative jest, so I won't.

in '74, I bought my drums, and I helped my Dad in making a set of beechwood and ply crates for 'em, before moving to France and touring with 'em. Now we play out very rarely, and in my own Trafic tour bus, and so use a tough set of medium-soft zip-up cases. As above, it's a case (Ha, ha..!) of horses for courses. If basses stay at home, they can be on stands, or wall hangers. Once out of the house, it's just a question of weighing up the risks against practicality, finance, space available and more. Each has his/her own solution, which can evolve, as things often change. My top vintage jazz guitar was resting, at home, in the corner of the room, minding its own business. A very young nephew passed by, the headstock was snapped clean off. It took me 10 years and over 1000€ to get it repaired. It now resides in a hard case, even at home, as do almost all of my instruments. My 'go to' guitar and bass are hanging on the wall behind my armchair. Accidents can, and do, happen.

Is not the definitive solution to this overhang complex thing to use a combo..?
