3.
...I need to put the bass into the hold of an aeroplane...
Must it go in the hold..? There are companies that have a limited luggage area in the cabin for such items; worth asking if your's has this option..? The handling that any stuff in the hold gets is really a matter of chance, I'd say, and, although a Hofner case would be sufficient in normal circumstances, it won't withstand being run over by a tarmac tug or the like. It's a bit of a 'Dirty Harry' moment, really... "Are you feeling lucky..?"
  4. Just an aside... I suppose I should be flattered (any port in a storm..? ), but I find it at once odd, funny and sad that, whatever I post on Soundcloud, I get an almost immediate set of 'Likes' from perfect strangers, and usually a new 'Follower' or two, often with a winsome smile and scant clothing. Is there something in my fingering that attracts such youngsters (they're rarely.. no, never... much more than teenage...)..? I doubt that it be my associated photo (which is often the Compo Challenge picture anyway...), and seems to be the reaction whatever 'style' (or lack of...) that the piece is purporting to be in. At this rate, I'll be world-famous in short order..! I'm not alluding to my regular BC following, of course; the scant clothing should have made that obvious.

  6. You want entries..? You got entries... June Noodle-bug ... ... and it serves you right. (No-one knows the difficulties involved in such simple things such as taking a ruddy photo per month, or playing just one minute (one lousy minute..!) of bass, let alone coming up with a whole new Composition..! No wonder I'm extenuated..! Still, it's worth it..! )
  7.
... We need more entries though!
Patience, lad; patience. (... and you may regret that remark if I do manage to contribute..! )

  9.
I'm hoping to beg a massive favour from a suitably technical BC'er if possible...
Have you tried a PM to our expert in this field, KiOgon..? He would be my first port of call for such a project; he can only refuse, right..? Good luck with your project.
  10.
... I meant a 4Ohm AMP with a 2Ohm CAB
In that scenario, you're in fire extinguisher territory. If an amp will accept 2 ohms without damage, the manufacturer would almost certainly make that very clear as a selling point. If they say 4 ohms minimum, then 4 ohms minimum it is. I'd make some exception for 'old school' valve amps with a 4 ohm setting, but even then I wouldn't try my luck for too long at high o/p levels. The short answer is 'No, it'll blow up the amp.' Sorry.
  11.
Out of interest, what would happen if someone used a 4ohm cab with the 2ohm version? Amp go bang?
Wired in series (OBBM can make up such a connection box...) it would be fine. Wired in parallel (as is the 'norme' with amps and cabs...), probably 'magic smoke'. I know of no bass amps that will accept a load of less than 2 ohms without complaint.
  12.
... it's "left-handed" because it's been strung that way....
To be fair, the jack plug is as for a 'lefty', too. Just sayin'. I'm a Hofner fan (I've several...), but won't be bidding on this, either.

    Hello

Good evening, LN12, and ... [sharedmedia=core:attachments:167528] Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  14. So you're now looking for a white one, eh..?

  16.
... Might have to wok through some YouTube vids on slapping...
Get 'cooking', then, eh..?
  17.
Just need to get it up to volume...
Be aware, if you're not already familiar with amps of this ilk, that they are a glazier's heaven. We use a Hiwatt 200w (4 x KT88...); eminently suitable for the disposal of D-Day bunkers when roused. Just sayin'.
  18. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:167485] ... and I forgot to add 'Very nice rig, very nice basses.'
  19.
...haven't figured out how to stop them flipping sideways on basschat
I find that using an external host (Imgur, for example...) solves all problems...

  22. It makes sense, I reckon, to go through chronologically, if one wishes to piece together the evolution and shifting band formations. Too many good numbers to just cherry-pick, so I'd recommend one different album every two days, with one day off in between, starting from the beginning. That's keep you busy for quite a while...
  23. I've played drums far more than bass. Nowadays things are much more calm and I'd take BRX's expression; I compose, and play bass for my compositions when it's required.
  24. I think that a great deal depends on the raw material being good quality stuff from the outset, preferably filmed expressly for the occasion. I'll humbly admit, though, that my very first attempt was a far cry from that above (and successive ones not much of an improvement, unfortunately..! ). It didn't stop me from posting some of them here, though, back in the 'Promotion for the Basschat Composition Challenge' days.
