  1. Doubtful, but give it a go. After all, you've tried almost everything else.
  2. And the winner is ... @upside downer..! Here, then, is your Winner's Certificates (download and save as pdf file, then proudly print and frame...) ... BC_Chal_Cert_2022_09.pdf ... which look like this (but bigger, of course..!)…
  3. So What..? Rhythm Changes..? Mr PC..? Misty..? (my favourite...) Take Five..? Enough for now; the list could get to be very long indeed..!
  4. Indeed, albeit modestly. I've never used ABS, which is what would be required for the item above to be usable, but it's an interesting design. The hardware required would need sourcing, too (biro springs..? little screws..? pivot pins..?). In all likelihood, some degree of customisation would be required, there being such a wide variation in basses. The printing part is perhaps the easiest, once the proof of concept for the target instrument established.
  5. , No, it's just a generic term for 'the average pub'. You might sometimes see 'The Tickled Trout' used in the same way. There are real pubs with these names, but that's just a coincidence.
  6. BT Red, with oyster shell pick guard..?
  7. September not yet gone and it's Christmas already..?
  8. Is the bass recorded/mixed in stereo..? If so, try making the bass a simple mono track and see what difference that makes. Listening through monitors and headphones, I find the bass (and bass drum...) to be distinctly indistinct, and low in the mix; quite unusually so for a 'reggae' feel. There may be a phase issue here.
  9. Aha; thanks. Does an ugly name count at all..? Asking for a friend. ...
  10. Would the mention 'Yellowhouse' on the backdrop be a subtle clue, perhaps..? ...
  11. And that amorphous blob in your avatar pic is a..? ...
  12. Would that be valve watts, though..? I played outdoor gigs with my Fender Bassman, 50w valves. Say what you will, valve watts just ain't the same.
  13. Update : Reply from Sam Pura, CEO, saying that this issue has been reported, but they're not yet sure why it occurs (they are on Mac's, mostly...). As a work-around, he suggested that setting Reaper's sample rate to 48000 should work. I did this, and, sure enough, it now rings out, clear as a bell..! What effect this may have on existing projects, with other sample rates, I don't know, but this snare now sounds, and sounds fine. Very detailed, with a wealth of presets for me to wade through; I'm not sure yet how it will fit in with my compositions, but it certainly has a quality sound. Thanks, then, for the 'heads up'; hoping there'll be an evolution rendering messing about redundant; in the meantime, I've a lot of snare stuff to listen to, now. Cheers.
  14. Downloaded, installed, library paths declared, registered... All fine except that it's dumb..! I can't get a sound out of it. I can't complain for the price, and it must be something stupid I've overlooked, but no judgement on its sonic qualities from me until it actually plays something. I have the interface, and can 'strike' the drum head, but no sound. I can trigger it through MIDI in Reaper, but no sound. Odd..? Yes. There is an error message when I launch it, telling me that 'The buffer size of 49 is not supported, Use a multiple of 8.', which may be responsible, but I have no idea where it gets the strange figure of '49' from. I've looked all through Reaper for any such mention; there is none, nothing with a '49' anywhere. Sorcery, I say; sorcery. I've sent the fellow an email, asking for advice and/or clarification; we'll see what becomes of it.
  15. Far better to have a boring one than a leg missing.
  16. Have you had a look at this (Monster Drums...)..? A free Vst plug-in that, I'd say with confidence, rivalises any of the same category. Easy to use, sounds more than 'fine', plenty of variants, and at an unbeatable cost (it's free...). Don't be fooled; it's free, but isn't 'cheap'. It's inexpensive, but sounds better than many costing... well, $250 for a 'Producer's Suite', for instance. Worth a look..? Monster Drums ... Disclaimer : I'm a drummer. I use expensive drum plug-ins, but also Monster Drums, as they're very good.
  17. I certainly enjoyed turning it off after... Well, a little too long. It had its chance.
  18. Good luck getting decent intonation from the bridge adjusters.
  19. (I'm A Little...) Apple Tree Warbler, with the Martin Spicer Band, using my Hofner President guitar as a bass, late '60s.
