When I played bass in a wedding band I used to take the main vocal for around ten tunes to give the singer a rest or a break off stage. Guitarist sang some too. Made sense when playing for several hours but not every band can be so versatile.
My dream bass.
I actually contacted Wal basses recently for a price on a lefty MK1 build. The price quoted was the same for new.
After paying an initial deposit the wait is about a year but you get to choose body wood facings, fingerboard wood and even fret metal.
This guy must be laughing all the way to the bank. He just sold a telebass equivalent with Squier parts, unkown body etc for a cool £605, excl postage.
Are people getting carried away and not reading the descriptions properly?
The Bass of Doom is alive and well. Trujillo has even used it on stage and Felix Pastorius recorded with it on the latest Yellowjackets album.
I can imagine it might make an appearance in the Jaco movie as it is now. Remember it was re-built/ veneered after Jaco trashed it on stage.
Some people own othe basses used by Jaco. I think one of his fretted jazz basses sold at auction in recent years for around $12500.

Switch to playing a Warwick like he did :-(
May be a fault in the string. Very much doubt its the machine head.
Pretty strong consensus on the neck size. As previously stated, wide but not deep. I like mine as it guides my hand to different notes than my jazz bass. It makes me play more within my means. More thought and less speed. A classy feel.
I have tennis-elbow in my right arm. No idea how it started. Saw a specialist and got some physio. The physio helps (like the exercises stated above) but the best thing for me was to simply take a break from playing bass. A period of complete rest for any injury is the best method of rehab.
