1. I assume he is able as he took an order from me just over a week ago.
2. Steinberger screams 80's to me. I owned an L2. However, I hankered for a Wal or a Vigier too I would say though that Musicman was a big part of the look and sound of the '80s with pop groups like Kajagoogoo and Sade.
3. Throw in a Super Mario and some gold coins and you have a game. Reminds me of some Macca lines where he too would improvise his way through a track keeping it fluid.
4.
Thanks but rosewood is easy, its finding maple necks that is the problem.
There is a Fender jazz body on ebay just now with a fitted Squier VM all-maple neck.
5. At only £30 its worth a meddle.
6. You could perhaps replace the bridge with the type you get on a beatles bass which is moveable and height adjustable. Depends how attached you are to the bass. Could buy a better one 2nd hand.
7. Speaker is original. This combo is loud. I even used it back in the 90's as my stage monitor supporting Simple Minds in an arena tour.
8. I'm practically next door. Wish it was a lefty.
9. Started on a Beatles bass, flirted with some modern stuff, now happy with my P + J basses.
10. The micro Ampeg VR stack might be a nice companion to your P bass.
11. Yeah there's Jimmy Egypt in workshop below CC Music in Otago St or there's Jimmy Moon on the Pollokshaws Rd. Both charge around £60 for a basic setup. I started doing mine myself after never really being happy with the results from a workshop.
12. You could try either cutting grooves in the existing saddle to lower string height or sanding it it down a bit. If you go too far just a shims to raise height back up.
13. Pleased that my favourite of the 3 is also the cheapest!
14. This combo has a 15" speaker in a ported cab. Made in USA it is rated at 300w but will be more like 120w. Heavy so collection only. All original with added flush side handles.
15. Is it a proper version of protools? Can't get the PM fields to work on my phone or ipad any more. Just goes crazy.
16. Bump for this black beauty.
17. Phew! Just sent off a pickguard to be copied as a lovely gold anodised metal-brushed lookalike.
18.

That is one cool kitty. Bass isn't bad looking eithet.
19. I've been looking at basses for sale in Japan lately. The price and shipping cost is often quoted but no one explains how to calculate customs duties or how it works. Are you expected to go to a local depot to pay these taxes before collection? How much is the current cost for an imported bass instrument. Anyone know a rough estimate?
20.
No problem in making a left-handed version of a Jazz guard - I'll just need to use a mirror when doing it
That's great news. You must have to keep a high shine on that mirror though.
