Hit Songs 1950s to Present - Fender P Bass
-
Pitch shift is probably my most used effect on the HX Stomp - it tracks excellently. Worth considering if you like multi effects pedals.
-
I run mine first with compressor second - I want to make sure that the signal going into the other effects is as clean as possible. Also, some pedals e.g. octave track better without unnecessary lows/highs.

Hi all Selling a full set of tuners from a Fender Geddy Lee MIJ 4 string bass These are made by Schaller I believe Used but good condition and turn perfectly Includes all screws and bushings One is missing a piece of metal from beside the gear (highlighted), however this doesn't affect tuning or stability. ***NOW SOLD*** Thanks Danny

I love mine but I use it mostly as a multi effects pedal and don't make so much use of the models or IRs. The amp models are very gainy to start off with but can be tamed nicely. I don't really like the cab sims but there are some great IRs out there which are much better for this purpose.

The law of diminishing returns, Tonewood and other folly’s
acidbass replied to tegs07's topic in General Discussion
This post is remarkably similar to a Youtube video I watched recently where a guy compared a Squier Affinity Jazz to a Classic Vibe, a Fender Vintera and a Fender US, highlighting the diminishing returns the higher up the price point you go. Having played or owned all of the above, I tend to agree with him. A £400 bass should last you a lifetime with the build quality nowadays. -
I put foam into most of my pickup cavities. My advice is to go with thicker foam than you think you'll need (i.e. deeper than the pickup cavity) as the more it's compressed under the pickup, the less movement you will get from the pickup itself.

Bass instrument cable straight into amp

I have to say that my tone is so much better with a Sansamp in the chain, and I would miss it if it wasn't there! -
I replaced the output jack on my P Bass with a Switchcraft Stereo 1/4" jack - got the tip from Ben Shepherd (Soundgarden). Basically, the jack clicks twice and is extra sturdy, even tho you'll obviously be running in mono. Working a treat so far!

How many extra drinks does a pub need to sell to cover a £250 band?
acidbass replied to 41Hz's topic in General Discussion
Pubs make much more money on spirits and mixers, so really all it takes is a few regular drinkers and maybe 15-20 drinking punters there for the gig for the pub to break even or make a profit. -
Sorry to hear about your experience. As echoed above, I would use the momentum you have since gained from being back playing and learning, and surround yourself with musicians you respect who have similar goals. I guarantee you'll be successful in no time and will enjoy it so much more than the other band, where it sounds like you were compromising a bit on the material choices. Good luck with whatever you do

Boss Waza Air now available for bass. Personal Amp System.

Does the Bluetooth music streaming thing allow music to be played from the usual sources - Spotify, Youtube etc? Or what way does it work? -
Bought a bass from Gary and it arrived immaculate - the packaging was perfect and the instrument itself is a beauty. A pleasure to do business with - thanks Gary!

I was lazy and didn't notice the screw head loosening over time - bass fell off mid gig once! Decided that day to switch to Dunlop Straplok exclusively on all my basses - safer for an idiot like me

For your delectation is this fine USA Fender P Bass in Sunburst with a Black Scratchplate and a Maple neck. Year is 2003, got it in a trade last year and it hasn't been out of the case since, as I play a Jazz mostly! All the usual USA Fender loveliness including thru body stringing option and lightweight tuners. There is one small chip on the upper bout where your arm rests - this is visible in this first pic but happy to take more detailed photos for full disclosure. Comes with official Fender case and truss rod tool. I have just restrung it with a set of D'Addario 45-105 rounds which sound beaut and have set it up to standard Fender specs. ***NOW SOLD*** Thanks for looking!

Let's leave the personal insults for the 'luthiers' over here in Norn Iron eh? 😂 Just giving my opinion on both brands. Obviously there are beautiful examples of both, but I have never seen a Shuker which is less than stunning and which looks like it hasn't been made in a garage, which I cannot say about ACG.
