  1. Much prefer the sound of bass #1! Definitely more like a P Bass.
  2. Plenty of reason to avoid this for home practice - see the other thread re volume balance issues. I had to send mine back! Good for recording however.
  3. The Metro Express models look very poorly made. I guess when you’re comparing them to £3k+ Metroline models it’s obvious! String alignment with the dot inlays (particularly noticeable on 5 string models) and pickup pole pieces is terrible. This is always perfect on Metroline models, and strangely, Squier basses 🙄
  4. Worth noting that the chambered bodies always have an inherent mid scoop. That might be your thing but I definitely would rather have the option to scoop the mids than have them taken away by default
  5. Well I've been waiting, waiting here so long for something like this
  6. Just bought an iRig HD and I’m having the same problem. If you raise the gain/master on the amp sims to match Spotify levels, the instrument ends up distorting/clipping horribly. The fact that Spotify doesn’t have an independent volume control that can be turned down is the problem. In all honesty I’m considering returning the iRig as it appears a lot of users have experienced the same issue
  7. My stable is currently: - Jazz Bass with flats - Jazz Bass with rounds - Precision Bass with flats - P/J Fretless bass with rounds I’m really happy that I have most sounds covered with the above. Come to think of it, I’m probably sitting at the lowest number of basses I’ve ever owned at one time. Perhaps room for one or two more
  8. Guys, almost sold on the HX Stomp as an all-in-one live solution, however I have one question before I click buy! I want to run two seperate outputs to our PA system. Both will be largely the same (amp model, effected etc) however one will be used as part of my IEM mix and the other straight to FOH. My reason for doing this is that the soundman can then EQ one signal to suit FOH and I can tweak the other signal to suit my in ears, both channels will run seperately. Can this be done? Hope I’ve explained it clearly enough!
  9. We’ve been told to prepare for no gigs until at least 2021. Large scale events in Ireland are resuming, as it stands, on 1 September, but this is likely to be pushed back to the start of next year.
  10. Ordered last Saturday, package arrived Tuesday morning in Northern Ireland. Top service as always!
  11. Yeah I literally can’t stand this flaw on production basses! Sadowsky always gets it right but conversely so do Squier! It not only annoys me to look at but the difference in magnetism between the strings/pole pieces 100% affects the tone and sustain.
  12. Still can’t look past that terrible string/pole piece alignment on the humbuckers. If 150 quid Squier basses can get this right then why can’t basses at 1k? It’s just careless.
  13. Give Steve at Rafferty Guitar Pedals a shout, he builds amazing HPF pedals in tiny boxes, I am sure he also makes an LPF.
  14. A derivative man in a derivative band.
  15. Awesome playing!
  16. Love 'Within You Without You' and 'Fool on the Hill' but I largely agree with all the rest!
  17. Wow! Beautiful!
  18. Their website appears to be offline also - not looking good.
  19. Always loved Peavey amps. Slightly concerned that the lightweight editions won't live up to the old 50kg Black Widow-clad beasts, but definitely interested in trying one out.
  20. Looks great! What's the price of this?
  21. Would you consider getting the existing body refinished? That would at least mean the neck pocket etc would fit correctly, as well as ensuring the pickups and bridge etc are still in line. These are things which may need adjusting with a new body.
  22. Yeah I have both a modern sounding Jazz (with rounds and Nordstrands) and a vintage one (flats and CS60s) so my needs are more or less covered!
  23. I think the general consensus is that it's a great bass, a modern sounding Jazz with a bridge that needs upgrading.
  24. I work in the Legal end of the Civil Service here in Northern Ireland. Used to work in private legal practice which was terribly restricting when it came to tours abroad etc. Now, I work flexi time and it's the best thing ever! I'm going on an Australian tour with my band now in April and will virtually be paid every day I'm away without using any annual leave
  25. Awesome! He must be good when he's one of the few players to get his own Fender Signature Model. Class playing!
