  1. Does something like this exist? I have always wanted a visual meter to read my bass' output, it would help massively when trying to standardise my pickup height and consistent string output across the board. I know mixing desks have this feature a lot of the time but something like this in pedal format would be cool.
  2. Would absolutely love to try this. Class AB or bust for me
  3. Jon Shuker can definitely do this, but it'll probably cost more than £250.
  4. Can you create a 2nd Google Calendar and invite your agents to it as guests, so they can view only it and not your 'main' calendar? That way, you could customise what details they see. Would obviously require updating two calendars each time a date came in instead of one, but the extra 20 or so seconds each time would soon become second nature.
  5. I modded an OLP Stingray to make it active - this required some routing under the scratchplate to accommodate a battery. If I were to do it again, I don't think I'd bother going with active and would keep it passive.
  6. Either way, £3k+ for what is essentially one of the most basic bass designs, albeit very well made, is insane!
  7. Jaco didn't need 45 strings
  8. See also: the rest of the Steely Dan back catalogue
  9. I discovered Stop Making Sense through BC and absolutely loved it. TH are one of my favourite bands now! So thankful for the recommendation
  10. Metallica The Who The Beatles
  11. I'm a member of one band with no say as regards song choices, and MD in another band with full control. In both situations however, everyone has a veto if there's a song that one member absolutely hates for example! Generally, the set is dictated not by what the band wants to play, but the band needs to play to be getting well paid gigs. Crowd enjoyment is 100% to the forefront of cover choices.
  12. I agree, but try telling that to a vintage Fender purist!
  13. Great story! Nice to see someone refretting a vintage bass without worrying about devaluing it, I would do exactly the same. For me, they are tools of the trade and should be used instead of being hung on a wall or in a cabinet.
  14. Lovely! Would love one with tapewounds for recording - bet it would sound ace! Nice to see the proper bridge as opposed to the ridiculously poor traditional design.
  15. Yep I think CW's Channel 3 runs through one of these with the autowah effect, Channel 2 through a Deep Impact.
  16. Also there's definitely an envelope filter going on in Plug In Baby isn't there?
  17. The verse of RATM's Township Rebellion is awesome:
  18. I think the same is true across the board. You could buy a used Stingray 4 for £700 a year or so ago, now they are around the £1k mark.
  19. Me too. Have a great P at the moment with La Bella flats and a Fender CS 62 pickup. I think my next bass buy will be a P with SD Quarter Pounders and real bright steel Rotos or similar!
  20. I could maybe justify owning 2 (one flats and one rounds) but 4 is impressive!
  21. BA55 DMC here. Gets quite a bit of attention when parking at gigs!
  22. Just noticed this - I really like the idea of it actually! All valve in a small package. I'd love to try one out! https://ashdownmusic.com/collections/heads/products/ctm-30-little-stubby
  23. I think it would possibly be a bit too much oomph for a single 12" cabinet, valve watts are real watts after all!
  24. Go for something valvey if you like that flatwound sound, nothing too modern. The Markbass LM Tube may be a nice option?
  25. I enjoyed Ghost more than Metallica at their Slane Castle concert last Summer!
