I use the GLX16D+ and have experienced some wifi issues in larger venues (5k+) with lots of wifi around. A lot of the pros seem to use Shure Axient - I think that's my next move for reliability.
-
I owned the TH500 and didn't like it at all. Just wasn't clean enough sounding. It didn't have anywhere near enough volume for me before a horrible digital distortion ensued. Also, as with all Aguilar amps - the 40hz Bass control is simply redundant as anything other than a cut, as this is much too low a level to be used effectively. Again, all my opinion - you might have a better experience!
-
This would be the last time I ever darkened the door of said venue, and well done for naming and shaming so that others can avoid the embarrassment.
-
I can confirm this. I used the SE215s in the past and much prefer the KZs for less half the cost.

Yes me too, looking forward to hearing them. For the cost it's worth the risk. I'm buying on a recommendation and they appear to have one extra balanced armature (5) compared to the ZS10 Pro X (4) so maybe that might be good for us low enders!

My ZS10s died on Saturday night at a gig - I think it might be the cable, but after 3 years service in my pub duo I think it's about time for a new set! I went for the KZ ZSX this time on a friend's recommendation. 6 drivers per side. Bass is supposed to sound very good through them. This time I also added a braided 8 core cable for some extra reliability. Total cost was $49 for the ZSX and $31 for the cable. Very confident that I will have a banging set of phones for around £70 all in (I also recommend the Comply foam tips, Sonicfoam also supposed to be very good). I usually use JH Audio Roxannes for my touring band and have been very happy with the KZs for pub gigs.

Why do they never make basses in normal White or Olympic White? Strewth! -
Edgar Winter bassist and songwriter Dan Hartman (who played on Edgar Winter's monster rock hit "Frankenstein" from 1973) designed this $5000 silver “Bass Suit” in 1974. The controls are on the sleeve attached to an aluminum plate. The guitar neck ends in a Crescent Moon and the suit itself has moons on it. “The bass suit was actually one of the first cordless guitars in existence, and I invented it. It was built right into this silver bodysuit so it looked as though the bass was coming out of my body, and the volume and tone knobs were on the sleeve.” “When it worked it was great, but the tunings were a little strange, plus I can’t tell you how many times I got shocked. It wound up being just one more thing that we had to worry about on tour: ‘Well, I wonder if this will work tonight.’ After a while I couldn’t stand wearing it anymore so I gave it up.”

Does anyone have tab for roachford “cuddly toy” ?

Great bassline! Love the vid too. Think the song has F as the tonic but it has that mixolydian vibe so the home key is maybe Bb? -
I'd personally only go for the newer Stingray Specials. They have finally corrected the weak G problem that plagued Rays for 40 years by redesigning the pickup.

Is there a popular bass player, that you just don’t get?

Resurrecting this thread from purgatory... Any Kiesel users? Nate Navarro rig rundown has me interested in an A2 headless fiver. However the Kiesel configurator is possibly the worst I have ever used.
-
Yeah it's a fairly poor cover IMO. He gets about 90% of the way there but the lines in the verse and chorus aren't accurate either.
-
I've had that feedback too from some of my band members. The P2 seems to be a lot more robust and has much better headroom on tap.

Square is pretty good, used it for merch before. It's simple and does the job well.

Rig Rundown: Tool's Justin Chancellor

Never knew he was English! Superb video, seems like a great guy. -
I've used freelancers on Fiverr lately for band promo stuff and they have been great. You can see previous portfolios and the contact/proofing etc is great. Some examples of work:

I love the Gruvgear Solostrap Neo. I have three of them! Expensive and bulky but totally worth it.

A mysterious chip appears on your brand new bass guitar.... you....

People pay extra now for guitars that look like they have been dined on by termites. The stresses of owning and maintaining a 100% pristine guitar would not be worth it IMO. Just enjoy it -
I read that the lady who gave up the bass is now expecting compensation, even though her dad nicked it!

I was a full time musician/music teacher in my early 20s and grew to hate music. As has been echoed above - I love it as a hobby and hate it as a job.

Hospital radio - has it had its day? Who is it for?
acidbass replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like good experience for someone if they wanted to pursue a career in local radio or beyond. I would suggest that your reasoning of helping the community might be better served by another activity however! -
BEAUT!

I think packing away your own equipment should take priority for all members - helps clear the stage area which in turn speeds up packing away of PA etc. After that, it's all hands to the pump to do whatever is needed.

Anyone had any electronics repairs made to a JC bass? Tone control doesn't seem to be working for me. Would prefer to give to a tech with experience of the hollowbody electrics, if anyone had a recommendation.
