  1. Just bought my third Gruvgear Solostrap. The best strap I have ever used.
  2. It was awesome! My band did its first ever live TV appearance on The Late Late Show in Ireland (not to be confused with J Corden's paltry offering) for St Patrick's Day. Viewing figures estimated at 1 million plus! I will probably create a seperate topic about the whole experience in general but it was simply amazing. Vid below for anyone interested:
  3. Welcome! My band are embarking on our first ever Australian Tour this coming May. Can't wait to see it!
  4. That's what my rock band uses. No issues putting kick drums etc through them for bar gigs, but for a function room type gig I would definitely think about adding at least one sub.
  5. I've read that somewhere between 25 and 35 were made, and 17 were exported to the UK originally.
  6. That is an incredible figure. I wonder if this particular bass is mentioned in the Slab Bass book.
  7. I use the CS 63 (not 62) on a P and I recommend it highly!
  8. Yeah I'd imagine Mexican made. I am guessing this would have sold better at the £500-£800 mark similar to the Masty sig Epiphones. Not sure who is paying £1400 odds for this!
  9. PA speakers are designed to throw the sound a lot further than a traditional bass cab. Standing 2ft away from it won't be an accurate representation of tone.
  10. Very disappointed in PMT as a whole lately. They wanted to charge £22.99 to send a pair of Waza Air Bass headphones to NI (which is of course part of the UK) by Parcelforce. I send instruments to the mainland all the time and there is no price differential at all. A package weighing maybe 1kg for 22.99 when I paid them 17.99 for shipping on an active PA speaker (circa 30kgs) simply does not make sense. Off to ze Germans I go!
  11. I don't think this forum is the best place for such a resource, when there are more relevant options elsewhere.
  12. I think this basically means that you can't send L to one belt pack and R to the other - essentially using one transmitter to send two different mixes. All belt packs will connect to the same transmitted mix, and you can add as many belt packs as you like to receive that mix.
  13. Once a bass hits 50 years old the value increases significantly. You'll notice a dearth of 1974 basses in the market this year, as people will buy/hold onto them until next year for profit.
  14. I guess it's situation dependent. Can you communicate with whoever is supplying the equipment to see if you can bring your monitoring setup? It might not require that you bring your own desk but I have seen this done before as a last resort. Most rigs at festivals now are digital (I would think) and you may just need to bring transmitters etc. I run it loose under my shirt to the beltpack. You can also get clips which attach to your collar which helps secure the slack. This is interesting - a talkback mic would be a good idea but ambient might also work. I pop one earphone out temporarily, even though this isn't really ideal for quick transitions between tunes.
  15. I love my Stomp and couldn't live without it! Cleans up my tone massively before hitting my amp or IEMs. If you are using it between comp and Sansamp - what is it you need it for? As an effects box essentially?
  16. Have you considered some sort of stage isolator (Gramma Pad) to cut the boom? I think hearing exactly what the FOH gets is ideal so I wouldn't want to amend my tone too much. The BDDI and RCF setup sounds perfect. Maybe a 10" cab would suit better?
  17. Take a desk recording of your set and send to deps with charts if quality is an issue? In answer to your question - 100% of gigs, exceptional circumstances aside.
  18. There's a group on Facebook called Bassist Ireland that you could try - hopefully someone in the area will be able to help out
  19. What about a pedal? A tuner or something a bit more daring like an overdrive?
  20. Just worked it out - 9 electric basses, one of which is fretless. I could do with selling 3 really now that I think of it!
  21. Have seen quite a few of them for sale recently - they were mistakenly thought to have been a limited run, but there were 1000's made.
  22. Aside from obvious faults/build issues - can't all basses be made playable with a good setup?
