1. Shame you ditched the hardcase,Ironbird cases are rare!!! And looks shouldn't matter,I played 2 1979 B.C.Rich Bich 8 string basses in a Jazz band
 2. /\ Great post and IMPO nice to hear just a bit more of the history of this event
 3.
It's a f***er, isn't it? No, neither did my family members (sorry, I won't be any more specific than that)... but I did get to know people who would have ticked more of the boxes than Jake has.
Yes mate,it is a "f***er",cried my eyes out,even as a grown man,but hey,that is Life and Death,same Sh*t,different day
 4.
Is that definitely the case though? Was he deleting old posts? Or were people misinterpreting the fact that when you try to access users' posts through their user profiles they only go back a few weeks? Debt often goes hand in hand with depressive illness... it can be caused by debt and can lead you into self-destructive behaviour that can cause debt. Having seen what depressive illness can do to people and their ability to function in even the most basic ways (I've spent way too much of my life visiting a close family member on a secure psychiatric ward, and have lost other family members to suicide), I'm just a little worried people are jumping to conclusions too quickly with regards to Jake's perceived 'criminality'.
Again, myself, with nothing to hide, know exactly what you are talking about My Dad suffered from mental illness, mainly through drug taking, probably too hide what he was feeling over the way the world is and what he saw as a serving member of the Royal Marines in Ireland (In the bad times),although I cannot be sure,as I wasn't inside his head and I cannot ask him now as he hung himself, but he sure didn't go around stealing
 5.
Speaking from the point of one that was ripped off for £900 last year (found him and hes paying up or going to jail ) I was kinda the same as Reuel.... you feel mad but stupid for getting taken for granted.... As for the more vociferous ones..... In my experience those that shout the loudest generally have the most to hide and are trying to divert attnetion from themselves......
Sorry, but that last line is the biggest pile of tripe I've read in a long time I have NOTHING to hide, ask Shockwave,he's been to my house twice Thinking about what has happened, the unmentionable one, creating more accounts and commenting on the Warwick forum, deleting his posts left right and centre, ignoring PM's from various people Even at the very last stages it appears to me he was trying to scrub out his footprints,it was only when he realised people had found his address and there was the very real danger of the police knocking at his door, did he finally decide to part with the bass, which ceased to be his property as soon as Reule had paid for it,and to say "Sorry,I got into Debt" means NOTHING,when you are sitting on thousands of pounds worth of easily disposable bass gear (That He and not Reule own). Theft is Theft, whatever the reason. I see a LOT of people calling for the Gallows when someone nicks guitar or bass gear, myself included,so why does that change when the unmentionable one comes up with some lame bullshit excuse In my view it just sends out the wrong message,I.E. Thieves are welcome on BC,just as long as you come up with an excuse and say sorry - but that is just my personal opinion, which in the grand scheme of things, actually counts for nothing, and this has all come from your last sentence "In my experience those that shout the loudest generally have the most to hide and are trying to divert attnetion from themselves...... " Like I said,I have nothing to hide
 6.
Whilst I understand the feelings that have prompted this thread I dont feel its appropriate. I speak individually as a mod here, (obviously a decision to ban someone is normally agreed by a quorum lead by at least 1 admin!) I will NOT be voting for Jake to be banned. He has had to endure plently of humiliaton already and considearbly more than any mormal offender for a relatively minor theft/fraud. I dont expect he'll be welcomed back with open arms either. Our interactions with him have been open and frank and I have left avenues open for him to ask for help if he genuinely needs it. For those of you that believe I and others are being over generous.... ask yourself this..... "how would I expect to be treated, finding myself in a similar situation?"
If you feel this question is inappropriate, then please feel free to delete it I asked the question to see what the general consensus was,not really thinking this would lead to his banning or not. Although I do disagree with you on a couple of points,IMHO,it was not a relatively Minor theft,it was £1400 of someone else's hard earned cash-try stealing £1400 of the Government and see how much you have to endure And "how would I expect to be treated, finding myself in a similar situation?" I am willing to bet 99.99999999999% of the members here would not even have that kind of thought enter thier head,no matter how their finances were,So I doubt any pof us would be in a Similar situation And to the guy who said we should wait until Reuel has his bass back, the bass is now in the hands of a trusted BCer,so it is as good as in Reuel's hands
 7.
Just got an update text from steve, Bass looks like its in good condition
Very very very good news, and I'm glad it is no longer in Jake's possesion, please thank Steve for the Update
 8. Someone had to post this question Having dealt with thieves of instruments myself,I really do not see how there can be any place for such a dishonest person in a Forum such as this.Whatever his excuse was, does not make his actions justifyable IMHO Now,I don't want this to become a "Jake is a ......." thread, just want to know what everyone thinks Ref Jake's membership
 9. I nearly hated you then, until I realised it wasn't a headless one Still a great bass congrats, but Sei headstocks leave me cold
 10. Fan-F***ing-Tastic I take it Steve actually saw the bass, and not just picked up a box without looking to see what the contents were?
 11.
Impressive, none the less. Phil's mojo will be in it. I guess it has "a little of the Oirish in it " Bass Player mag this month has a feature on 25 spikey basses.. worth getting of you want to compare ..
Thanks mate and the Mockingbird was unused from 1982 to December 2006 as it was in an attic in Northampton
 12.
lorne: yes, ive found it really hard to get opinions on BC Rich basses because the shape puts most ppl off, and they start slagging the bass off until i lose interest following the thread... i will surely contact you when i have enough $$ for one of those widows.
-*- No worries Ruell, like I said in response to budget bassist,I am totally honest about things I have played a LOT of basses in my time, and there are some nice ones to chose from, like the 1990's ESP precision I should have bought, the 8 Washburn Status basses I should NOT have sold,or the one Warwick (Fretless) I nearly bought. So don't get hung up about shapes and makers of instruments,If something appeals to you,by all means buy it,but find out from actual owners their experiences first, not just listen to the unimformed rants of people who've never touched one,no matter what company made it
 13.
fair play, some people on here like to be sure where their basses are coming from i guess!
That's cool mate, you can ask Shockwave,I am totally honest about things - I've sold him 2 basses
 14.
Nice collection! Were you not trying to sell that bass a while back? I remember someone trying to sell a bc rich mockingbird that allegedly belonged to thin lizzy's bassist.
Thanks Yes I was trying to sell the Mockingbird, but it just turned into a shitfest, and as I don't actually need to sell it at all,I asked the Admins to remove my post Also, just to clear things up,I have NEVER alledged that the bass was OWNED by Phil Lynott,I have always been clear on this fact, all 4 BC Riches in that video were LENT to Thin Lizzy by a now defunct London company,I have the original receipt for this bass from that company,160 tiff images of the video shoot,a letter from the original owner and other proof that this IS the bass that was lent to Thin Lizzy
 15.
wow Lorne! i was actually Gas-sing for a widow and i just saw those pics and damn... i really really want one! ... maybe next year *lol* how does that widow play? like compared to other basses, mmm, warwick for example?
Hi Ruell (I hope I spelt that right) If you want to get a Widow bass let me know and I'll hook you up with a fantastic shop in the USA who ships anywhere and has a great idea about pricing and shipping The top bass is a MK 1 Widow, handmade in 1994 The Bottom bass is a MK 2 Widow, handmade in 2007 My friend, who sets up all of my basses initially, set the 2007 up and said it was the best damn bass he had ever touched, and he had his brother's 1997 Customshop Jazz bass there at the time,it pained him to say it,as he hates B.C.Riches I don't want to upset the Warwick guys, but I have only found one bass maker to surpass a properly set up Customshop BC Rich bass, and that would be Sei Basses
 16.
I have a headache
Ha ha ha,I hear that Bro,I certainly hear that
 17.
Does your wife know how see thru that dress is?
It's see thru ,it's not THAT see thru
Also i like the bc riches, especially that mockingbird on the right, i've always wanted a mockingbird bass!
That Mockingbird was given to me,as was the other one, which is more important as THIS is the very same bass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDxjcZ71ZyI I must update the picture,as I have other basses to get into the trampoline 1987 USA B.C.Rich ST Thru neck bass 1994 USA B.C.Rich Widow bass 2 NJ Series II B.C.Rich Warlock basses 1 NJ Series Ironbird bass 1 USA Bolt On Gunslinger bass I have to empty the garden of mud first
 18. Just keep us Posted Rob,excellent work BTW,it sure feels good to retrieve stolen instruments eh?,I've done 3 so far,and only had to threaten to use the FBI once Let's keep negative comments until after all the hard work has been done eh guys>?
 19. Wow,there's some ugly people here So here's another one - ME But just to throw some prettyness back into the thread, here's the wife
 20. I will say nothing and instead await a VERY welcom and hopefully HAPPY outcome to this situation and await one of the Moderators or Admins to fill us in upon that event happening I hope everybody else will do the same and not post attacks

 22. Hello from deepest,darkest Plymuff
 23.
This thread and the "The One You Wish You'd Never Sold" thread have got me crying into my keyboard. I used to have a superb RB950 It played beautifully and had such a wide range of tones available as each of the humbuckers was coil tapped. I owned it for a couple of years but then sold it on and replaced it with a Yamaha BB414 of all things. I've seen posts on a couple of forums with a link to my photo on the Ibanez register asking anyone with information to the whereabouts of a similar bass to come forward. I really regret selling this bass as I realise that the chances of finding another are almost impossible. I can't believe I let it go...pass the kleenex
Another regretter here - I had that exact same bass, but in trans red over the Bird's Eye Maple, can't remember what I sold it for or why?
 24.
That colour scheme's not hard-core enough...
I like the True Flame paint jobs on these basses, but this one pictured, just looks like an accident waiting to happen-when one of those points breaks off, who's going to try and match the paint up?
