thats really cool i was reading some stuff bout couple of his basses, the precision and the ibanez in a bass magazine recentley but you never hear much bout his other gear
Phil never actually OWNED this bass,or the other B.C.Riches in that video, they were loaned to them by a small company from London called E.F.R. guitars,I have been lucky enough to get 160 odd pictures from the video shoot, and you can clearly see gold stickers on the BCR's E.F.R. Thin Lizzy's management had to pay compensation to E.F.R. for the damage Phil did to the bass A guy bought the bass as soon as Phil returned it,and left it in an attic for 24 YEARS!!!!!!!,and then gave it to me
Rather than the Punisher, I believe you're referring to the BC Rich Eagle which does share a similar 'horn identity' if I may coin a new phrase!
Which,to my knowledge,Gene has NEVER played,he has played a Warlock before though
-
in my defence, there is a BCR that looks almost identical to that bass. P
That would be the B.C.Rich Punisher bass the Gene designed, had built by BCR and then buggered off and built them himself with a different company Personally,I always hated the Punisher bass,Ugly thing it is
oh we can have fractions of basses? then+ 0.2 =1305.7
Apparently.only if you have most of the parts and are building it,not just if you have a spare bridge or pick up lying around So =1305.5 -
This one is on its way from the USA. It should be shipped out Monday, it'll arrive who knows when? I missed the mockingbird I recently sold, so went for another late 80's example with a simpler control layout:
Ah-so you bought this from Mike/EvilGreco I bought a Warlock from him for the neck and bridge, unfotunately he's too darn picky and there was F*** all wrong with the bass once it arrived so I couldn't split it to resurrect my Ironbird Your new Mock will have the 100 piece neck, just like my Warlock,SUPER stable necks mate, congrats
-
Well-just paid for it,but not expecting delivery until the first week of January, but this is Definately late 1980's territory
Hi Lorne Seriously underrated basses these - if there's another bass bash in the South East, we should make sure there's some quality BC Rich basses there. Nik
As always, these things depend on time/money,something sadly lacking at the moment It would be cool though
Free?.....FREE???? RARRRRR!!!!!!
Yep mate, free But,I EARNED it,you would not believe the amount of emails and telephone calls I made during that year, the guy with the B.C.Rich Explorer guitar lives in the USA and doesn't answer emails,I had to phone him twice and he just won't shut up when you're on the phone-an hour each time
I have a silver Badass with, for reasons I cannot begin to guess, gold saddles. The bridge is bloody old and the saddles have been cut (probably about 30 years ago), but of you can't get any elsewhere, it might provide you with some options. Chris
Badass II's weren;t available 30 years ago-are you sure you haven't got the massive Badass 1 bridge? Just trying to make sure you don't inadvertently sell him the wrong saddles/bridge
