Gone.Billy Sheehan Attitude Ltd (1) orig series signature model.
Lorne replied to karlfer's topic in Basses For Sale
If you can point out where, exactly I called you dishonest, I will apologise unreservedly All I did was point out the 150 per colour thing was misleading by what I saw and what Yamaha said directly to me, when I bought one of these brand new in 1992 and also to call into question why you posted the price of a MK3 against your MKI NEVER did I say you were dishonest, this is the internet, you need to read it twice -
I called Yamaha a few years ago in order to source one and I did ask them about the 150 + 150. They said to me that this was per country not overall. Nevertheless, these are fantastic instruments and given the price of the new mk3 £2499, I believe £1000 a great price for an instrument of this quality. Also if we were discussing the price of a 20 year old Fender Jazz we wouldn't even quibble about the hefty price mark.
Agreed, I didn't call into question the amount the seller wanted for the bass, merely that you shouldn't compare a MK3 price to a MKI bass, bit like comparing the price of a MK4 Cortina to a Focus -
Telling you this because I was under the impression that if you wanted a NEW Attitude, that is what you would have to pay. Didn't realise some of the old, discontinued, possibly demo models were still available. Regarding the Attitude 11, there are a LOT more of those made as they ran (according to Yamaha) from 1993 to 2010, so they are NOTHING like as rare as the Attitude 1, only 150 blue and 150 red ever being made (apart from Billy's 2 prototypes). Karl.
I wouldn't put too much trust in Yamaha's word about the 150 of each thing, I phoned them in 1992 after seeing photo's of the factory and crates of thousands of necks, many were LTD necks, I asked them "Just how Limited is this bass", to which the reply was "Limited to how many we can sell" -
GAK have the current model (Attitude Ltd 111) in at £2369. Forgot to mention, these are BY FAR the most powerful pick ups I have ever used.
Not sure why you're telling us this, as you have a LTD 1, GAK also have the LTD II for £1599 which is much closer to your model I had one of these MK I's brand new in 1992 £1200, didn't keep it long, had a bad one, once I sorted it, it was terrific though -
I assume you've got the serial and shots of this one in the archive, Lorne?
Only from the Auction mate, who do ya think asked the seller for the serial #? LOL
Have you got the "Our God Has Landed" DVD? He's using the Eagle on the vid for "Stained Glass Horizon". There are some pretty good shots of it IIRC, with it being the original promo vid for the song.
In this video, you can see the original knobs on the bass Mr.Foxen

That's Bill Clements isn't it?

I've played that Royal Electra bass a few times, many years ago when it was in SWAG in Plymouth, played great, wish I'd bought it now. The Royal Electras appeared around the same time as the B.C.Rich Black Hole guitars, which were basically ST III's with holes drilled them, One of the BCR designers said they never saw the Royals and Kevin (Mr Royal) said he never saw the BCR's , so great minds think alike

Could you be the most beautiful bass in the world?
There seems to be an issue with your bass!! The frets aren't on straight!
Are you sure the neck hasn't got a slight twist -
Works for me. That is gorgeous.
Thanks, heavy as a heavy thing as well, turns out it's kinda rare being a neck thru ST bass, they made quite a few bolt ons, but not many thru necks

Just found my for sale thread http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...uby+red+rbx+6jm Ignor the shipping price, I only charge exact shipping which gets calculated when I get the buyer's post code, the Turquoise one I quoted as £50 was way cheaper than that
Thanks Lorne, does yours have a 'for sale' thread? How much is yours up for? How much were they when new?
It did have a for sale thread a couple of months ago, but A; I'm a lazy so and so and B; I don't actually need to sell anything, so I usually put something up for sale once, if it doesn't sell, I keep it until I think about selling it again, which could be next week or next year LOL As for the Yamaha, I was after £500 plus shipping New, they started out for £1200 I believe, then Yamaha dropped the price to £899, but that was years and years ago The reason they stopped making them, is because John Myung wanted the mk2 which is 34" scale instead of 35" btw, my red one has had it's jack socket replaced already
-
Yep the RBX 6JM is a very nice bass and becoming rarer The Turqouise one is now Charic's, I still have the red one and it is for sale, I have to many basses and nowhere to sleep (and that isn't all of them) The Yamaha has some chips and scuffs, but it's solid as a rock with low action mine comes with a flight case (Not hard case) and gold Schaller strap locks (Including the strap bits)
-
Ah, well, if it doesn't actually have to be a Fender, then this is the closest I am ever going to get to owning a Precision (Unless I find that Lake Placid Blue ESP I should've bought in '92) 1987 USA handmade B.C.Rich ST bass, now has the correct knobs on it, and EMG P + J pick ups
