5. I knew you'd be along to help Doddy So you rest your unfretted fingers on the unplayed strings to keep them quiet
6. Hello again, I seem to be having a problem with keeping my strings quiet when playing slap. What I mean is that when I play a note on the E or D strings I'm getting some ringing coming from the A string even though I haven't struck it. What can I do to keep this string quiet while not breaking my rythym? Thanks in advance guys

19.
Unless you feel your technique needs attention, raise your action. I'm a fairly hard player (who wants it? ) , so always need to have my action set fairly high. Your instrument is there to serve you, not you serve it.
Sound advice mate thanks Out of curiosity how high is your action?
20. I've recently had my bass set up and it has a lovely low action. The problem I have is when I play a crescendo I get a but of fret buzz. Should I play with a lighter touch or raise my action or ......? Any advice greatly appreciated
21. thanks boys. plenty of food for thought
22. I've recently started teaching my 8 year old daughter a few songs on the bass. Twinkle twinkle and such. She really seems to be enjoying it but my ibanez is too big for her to get to grips with. What would ne the best size bass for her and which one should I get?
23. Thanks guys
24. My 8 year old daughter has started taking interset in my bass playing and wants to start learning. I think this is great and really want to teach her I'm not sure where to start. I have a spare bass which makes thing easier but where do we begin? Should we start with scales, simple songs or........? Any advice guys?
25.
Same problem! I've played about thirty different basses over the last few years, many of them top-end basses, but due to my neck and back problems, I was forced to look for something really light. I eventually took the plunge for a Ibanez SR500 which I saw on Gumtree for £250. As soon as I picked it up, I new the weight was perfect, but when I actually played it, I was completely bowled over by the playabilty, the feel, and the sounds that it produces is just amazing. They sell for around £450 new, £250/300 s/h, and IMO they are worth twice that. Like I said, I have played many great basses such as Fender J/P, Musicman, Warwicks etc. but I can honestly say that the Ibanez SR500 is the best of the lot, and I would play it through choice, even if my neck/back problems cleared up. Go and try one, you will get a whole lot of bass for your money, and it really is extremely light!
+1 on the SR500 I have one myself. Its not as nice as my other bass but it is a dam good one.
