I came home late at night just in time to catch the very last song of David Gilmour... I went to bed after hearing one of the best guitar solo's I have ever heard in my life.. I think the song was called Mr. Blue and the sound, the phrasing and the intensity were mind-boggling...What a fantastic musician he is and he only gets better and better.
That's what I was trying to say before but I don't think we're allowed to enthuse over guitars here and it got royally lugged. He got phrases of that solo to sound like seagulls, which is I think is part of the theme. Effing brilliant! I spent years learning his solos (can still muster a pretty mean Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts I–IX) before forsaking 6 strings for 4 and he remains my hero to this day. Pity about all the soloing gurning he's started to do the older he gets.
.... When I'm stressed before a gig I just close my eyes and call to mind the feeling of being in the shower. Weird but it works.
I will try and think of you in the shower too but I don't think it will work. Generally I am the least nervous one out of any of my bands. Odd really as I'm pretty shy and quite the rest of the time but put me on a stage and I go mental. One beer beforehand deffo helps for me.

Chris is a top bloke. Swapped pedals with him. The exchange was swift and ran like clockwork. Cheers man. Rich
You have GOT to be kidding! Have you seen those basses in Wayne's sig? That Surf Green would clash dreadfully, it would be a fashion disaster. Wayne dear, have you considered black? There's always room for a little black bass.
Oo me thinks he protesteth too much. Fancy it for yourself eh?

Just buy it Wayne. It wouldn't be displeasing to the eye to see it in your sig everyday.
argh... now you've added black tuners and bridge... question, would the tuners fit my Squier VMJ? and is the black bridge a drop in replacement for a normal Fender 4 string bridge? If yes to either or both, then I'd like to stick my name in for applicable item(s) I'm currently "toning down" my VMJ by making it black and maple. Got black strings on and proper Fender knobs... the control plate is already on order... argh... you've got to be fast here, that PM wasn't there when I started this post...
Yup dude, PM first ask quetions later. Sadly for you Raggy pipped you to the post. Just for the record, I think the tuners almost definitely would have fitted but as for the bridge dropping in I can't say (I don't have a real Fender at hand). Raggy : just trying to work out the postage - I'll be in touch. -
JUST BEEN TO A GUITAR SHOP ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!!! Ears totally bashed by a flock fo 13 year old shredders, I expect.
Yeah why do they do that? I found myself in our main guitar shop yesterday (first time in about a year) and yes 3-4 guys hangin' tough behind the counter, various preteens running around shouting about brand x is better than brand y and an obligatory kid in a 'tallica tee impressively shredding away. I thought maybe he worked there but no he finished with a mental nut to pup run, put the guitar down and walked out. I had a squint at the sh*tty basses with high enough action to get a bus under that they had hanging on the wall, each one with a prominent "don't touch label" but no visible price tag, glanced over to the "assistants" then just said f*** it I'm too old to be in here and left. I must have been in there 3 minutes tops. I'll probably forget and go back next year. HAPPY BELATED ONE DABOOTSY!
