2.
Why not bid for this: has he changed any of the wording since last time?
Sorry I didn't see this bit before (probably reeling from the shock ) but yes the listing has changed. It used to read... Markbass Little Mark II - Bass Amp Head Immaculate Condition with carry case.. It now says.... Markbass Little Mark II - Bass Amp Head Very Good Condition has never been giged home use only with carry case. Any questions feel free to contact me.. I'll give it to him for learning from his mistakes. Although he might be stretching it a bit with "Very Good Condition". Part of me wants to warn prospective buyers what they'll be getting as he has omitted to say that it has no serial number and may or may not be an ex-demo/display model but another part of me wants to get my money back before I do anything else. *sigh* does anyone still remember when ebay was uncomplicated and friendly?
 3. Sorry I meant to say "craick" but now we know.
 4. It'll be the crack then.
 5.
dont appear to have it listed anymore.
Yeah I know (one of the reasons I thought I might lose the deal completely) but in the end he absolutely said to me that they'd be selling them again. They are still doing the Markbass 4x10 cab - I didn't see it on there before so don't know if they've updated it's listing or if it's still at it's "we're having problems with our distributor" price.
 6. There ye go I got mine for £454 in the end. Can't complain about that really. Incidentally I got it from Rock-Solid
 7. Thanks guys for all your input. He did say to me that there is a clause on their webby that states that prices are only an indication bla bla bla... when I mentioned my statutory rights etc. so I didn't pursue it. It has been a pain but I guess in the end I'm still pretty please with the outcome though... provided I get it before Friday.
 8.
Any Basschatter near Aberdeen who could lend ou7shined a head for the weekend maybe? Gives him a bit more time to decide what to do.
Thanks for this mate. I do still have my Ashy 500 combo so I wouldn't have been stuck. It's just that Friday and Saturday are in Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively and I really couldn't be arsed dragging it around from Aberdeen all weekend.

I've not even got my money back from him yet!
I think £469 is still a good price, why not see if they will split the difference? Everyone else is selling them for a lot more with the Euro increasing in value, some are over £500 now!
That's exactly what I've done. I realise it's still a steal so 15 bucks on top ain't too bad I suppose. Interestingly if they post to a business address they can reduce the price by having a lesser postal insurance. They're going to be selling them for £515 from now on.
 10. Some of you may have read about the grief I've had with a certain LMII, well that problem is nearly/hopefully out the way. Luckily I found a replacement online for an unbelievable £439 with free postage and paid via CC but the nice bloke (who I have already spoken to as the one advertised on their site was all they had in stock but had supposedly been sold - I agreed to accept a short delay until he could get one sent direct from the distributor) just phoned me saying that there has been a price increase with the distributor and after scanning other prices online needs another £30. I said I'd get back to him within the hour. I've got 2 quite important gigs on Friday & Saturday. My head's in a bin today. Should I accept the price increase for an easy life? Or should I risk loosing the great deal and quote my stat rights (which I believe say that they have to sell for the stated price)? Or haggle? edit : taken the "quick response needed" bit out of the title.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Old-1960s-19...p3286.m14.l1318
Don't know (as usual ) but it looks like neck dive central.
 12.
A celebration of surviving breast cancer in diagnosed in pregnancy, and teh rather nasty treatment. "Go on, have a feel, they feel really real" she said .. They did, There's a first. I do know her a little from several years ago when I helped her not marry the wrong bloke ..(another Old Gt service)
Let me get this straight OG, this other service you mention is it "near marriage guidance" or "copping a feel". As if it is the latter, I have some experience in this field and would be willing to help out too. I am north of the border but would be willing to travel if you operation was limited to the west country.
 13.
So our first gig was last night, and i'm of mixed feelings about it. We all played really well, and some people genuinely said that they thought we were really really good, but hardly.....
So that's it under your belt now. It wasn't a disaster and you learned the not putting drinks on your gear rule. Result! Hope you get your amp sorted for next time.
 14. Ok here we go... I paid him with PayPal. email last night
Great it has arrived can i send you a cheque by post will be with you on monday can i have the name to go on the cheque and your address ?
I respectfully told him what to do with his cheque.
 15. It's very common on Music Man basses.
 16.
Updated scores on the doors..... North East: 2 North West: 6 Yorks & Hum: 7 East Mids:1 West Mids:3 East Eng: 1 London:2 South East: 9 South West: 3 Wales: 1 Scotland: 4 N. Ireland: Stateless: 1 Well at least the East Midlands are off the mark now, just need to get someone from Northern Ireland to cover all of the UK. Yorkshire sneaking up into second place too!
I vote we work it on proportional representation here. That would put Scotland miles into the lead.
 17. Actually Dave I have seen reviews of specifically the LMII/250 bag that has mentioned it but I can totally see how the complaint is more founded with the type you've pictured.
 18. Hey cats! Can you dig it? Ask yo' momma!
 19. Yeah I had concerns about rain etc. when I first saw the holes but then I looked at it laterally and realised that it wasn't a rucksack with holes in, it was in fact a perfectly fitted padded cover with extremely handy straps on it. Which is probably the progression the bag underwent in development anyway. Besides it wouldn't be too difficult to knock together some kind of elasticated "shower cap" if you had big concerns about it.
 20.
Comical - Under that definition of “immaculate”, I have an immaculate Carlsbro Cobra 90 bass combo that’s never been gigged…did I mention that I took a 24lb sledge hammer to it and it’s now in a few hundred bits?
21.
Wow, what a pain in the arse! Hope this whole sorry episode is going to be sorted for you now mate- don't forget to keep checking the gear sections in here for 2nd-hand LMII's, 'cos they do turn up- I just bought my own off Flanker in this very forum last week, and it's a beaut! Good luck! Etienne
Cheers Etienne. The courier collected it early this morning. I hope it's all over now too. (I just have to wait for the refund now. I wonder what joys that'll bring.) In a way I miss that wee amp. So... to fill the space on top of my cab and to ease my bereavement I (rather impetuously) went and bought a brand new one.... for almost exactly what I paid for that dodgy used one. :brow: Although I am now minus the carry case, I'll have a warranty and piece of mind. I'm now looking for a new carry case but they're not as thick on the ground in this country as the amps are. Maybe a bunch of us LMII/250 owners should cub together and get a job lot and save on postage.
 22. To bring yiz up to speed - he's agreed to the return/refund and finally given me his address. He even apologised for the.... ahem... "misunderstanding". I've got it all boxed up mega securely (in the carry case, 2 layers of bubble wrap and half a yellow pages for extra packing) for the courier to pick up tomorrow - guaranteed next day delivery. I asked a couple of times if he'd sell me the carry case but he completely blanked my requests.
 23.
I'm sure he's a nice bloke n' all, but for some reason, to me, he always looked a bit like a school bully!!!
Not sure about a school bully but he's always reminded me of the Tiger commander from Kelly's Heroes and vice versa. -
 24. Totally. There's a few weird things with these listings like.... "Feels like a Fender" (Oh right that'll be those 23 fret Fenders were always hearing about) "but as I never got around to completing the project so I can't say what it feels like when strung." Gee thanks I'll bear that in mind when bidding.
