Has been painted to the colours you see
I feel I must report it. The listing is quite clearly misleading. There will be some colourblind people out there who will be ultimately disappointed if they get this.

Hmmm. He says that in all his auctions. I'm smelling pants on fire. In fact if you look at his f/b neg comments that ain't all I smell.

There's not many people do bass extenders in the uk.

Brilliant! I've been looking for a bass that can be played under water for some time now.

Vintage MIJ (formerly J@pCr@p) Spotting
Ou7shined replied to Bassassin's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Wasn't you, was it? J.
Nah. I might of had a pop at the sub 50 mark if I'd been prepared enough but to tell you the truth I forgot all about it until <1 min so I just watched it end. Which ain't a bad thing as it still leaves me in the running for some weekend nuptials that would have undoubtedly been denied had I bought yet another bass. -
Doubt I'll actually go for the Raider (although if it stays nice & cheap...) & I'd guess the neck/body paradox is down to what was lying around in the factory that day. A dealer would call it "transitional".
It went from a stable 41 to 69 in the last few seconds. -
Hey Sorry Outshined I did rather jump up on that. Just trying to suggest fast path ways past the fumbling amateur part to the nice part when everyone cheers, joins your mailing list and books you back for more They can work on their integrity then
No wucking furries bud.

Sorry OG I didn't want to knock any previous advice here. All I'm saying is that we tried it and it didn't work for us in the end.
Keep it real? Why?
Because for me that's what works best.
"Real" for an inexperienced band is shuffle on fumble about a bit, play to themselves or their feet, mumble a bit then leave. No one will know who you are or think you are any good .. It may be real but it's hardly likely to accelerate your progress rapidly...
I see this a lot... and yes it can be tedious watching this kind of act but I don't think any less of them if the music's good. I'm happy they went up and gave it a bash. The true performers will emerge eventually.
People think bands are great because they see other people around them reacting favourably. All I'm suggesting is helping that happen rather than just leaving it luck...
And it's always welcome advice sir. I'm just offering the other side of the coin on this particular instance.
You can afford to keep it real once you are experienced and know how to take the stage like you own it, work the room and have loads of good stuff to play. How long did that take?
Point taken. I guess that's why (with hindsight) I'd advocate the "keep it real" approach in the first place.
But for now BB should "fake it til you make it" - ie do the stuff experienced bands do and and pretend your are really successful, half teh room will believe you are and everyone will enjoy it a lot more, especially you.
Hmmm. I'm still not sold on the idea.
Outshined, How does anyone know that you don't orchestrate your encore and that it's real? What's the difference?
But it's about our own personal integrity I suppose. We felt uncomfortable falsely brewing up enthusiasm when it may well have already of been there. We felt much better doing an encore that's been genuinely asked for than one contrived in advance. Horses for courses though and I accept that. On a more practical level - if we'd put in a performance and didn't get asked for an encore at the end, we'd have to ask ourselves why (it was probably blindingly obvious why) then improve or adapt the performance so that it was more enjoyable for the punters and thus more rewarding for us.
Last night my guitarist sprung on me that he wants our first gig to be next friday! (well he did ask me if it was alright first ), it's only four songs though, and provided we get a couple of practice sessions in before then we should be alright, we've only really had about four sessions anyway with us all there. I'm really looking forward to it though, should be a good laugh!
Good luck man. I'm not a big fan of the planned/fake encore tho. We used to do it and it seemed a bit awkward and not "keeping it real". Nowadays we just do the planned set and if like usual we get an encore we've always got something in our back pocket. No one's expecting a new band (first gig and all) to have a "back catalogue". Do your 4 songs, melt a few faces and leave 'em wanting more for next time.

Entertaining description. Certainly gives a sense of confidence by having his user name in the video and pics. Love the wording "I can attest that the neck is quite flawless..." -

Finish is called Blue Dawn....
Apologies in advance if I'm out of line here but doesn't Blue Dawn have a black burst edge? I only know this as apart from black, the Petrucci Blue Dawn is my favourite MM finish. I think this finish is called Blueburst.
... I also sold my Honda 400-4 ...
Classic. I had one of them but it was too small for me (I'm 6'2") so sold it on to a diminutive mate who's g/f in turn sold it on without him knowing after a massive argument. A beautiful 500-4 purred past me in my sensible 5 star Euro NCAP family car this weekend... funny how things turn out. -

Those Deans are the beans. I actually came >< this close to getting one but the skulls kinda put me off. Odd really coz usually I put skulls on everything but these were cheese. Stick on some domes (I'd go with black but chrome would work too) and you'll be all the way. -

I've got a mate who's in a band called the Wildcards and their logo is the ace of spades. I've told him I'll do the work on it to get it up to spec. That scratchplate has to go for a start. -
Westone Raider - pointy and glittery. Want. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=170234126125
I quite fancy that too (sadly Mrs. Ou7shined has definitely put a stop to any more purchases) I could be way wrong but having just read this it kinda looks like a Raider I neck (dot markers) on a Raider II body (red non-2-tone finish).. but what are the chances of that? That Ace of Spades is mad but the guy shouldn't really say it's in great condition just in need of 2 strings (like they come in 2's) it's a bit beat up and has a guitar machine head on the G. Having said that someone (a Motörhead fan?) has asked for a BIN already.
