    discreet

Just bought a Hipshot bridge from Mark which arrived in double quick time. We've bought and sold to each other over the years and it's always a pleasure.
  8. Based on my very recent experience, probably yes. Earlier this week I collected a brand new Nate Mendel in a factory sealed box as a warranty replacement. (Long story, don't ask) The action was so high that, to me, it was almost unplayable straight out of the box. It took a lot of trussrod adjustment to make the relief acceptable. I don't believe that it had been touched. After a change of strings to a new set of Sadowsky Blue Label Flats and very careful adjustment it now plays really well, feels very nice and sounds great. No dodgy frets, no dead spots, just very well made. My only criticism, and it's very minor, is that the pickups are an interference fit in the pickguard which is obviously fitted first so you need to take out the two outer pick-up screws and lever off the pickguard in order to remove it and get to the trussrod. The first job was therefore some careful fettling of the pickguard cutouts so it can be removed and replaced easily.
  9. Between Farnham and Guildford in Surrey.
  10. Hipshot BT7 Extender (Detuner), Nickel finish. Excellent condition. Complete and in original packaging. £45 posted to the UK.
  11. Lovely instruments. Mine is my go-to every time.
  12. Same for amps and cabs. I am looking for a Berg CN112 and keep seeing that you have one, but it was sold months ago. Not very helpful.
  13. Sadly I'm not going to be able to go this year. However the organisers have very kindly sent me a code for 30% off advance tickets - LBGSVIP.
  14. Great news Nick. Nice bass too.
  15. Excellent account. An inspiration to us all. Nice one.
  16. I picked up a used one of these from Ebay for a few quid. Very comfortable for long periods. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-of-two-bar-stools-brown-bar-chairs-dining-stool-bar-furniture/222836996091?hash=item33e21eb7fb:g:HcYAAOSwBp9agrXA I have a butt-kicker attached to the footrest and use it during gigs with a mix of my bass and kick drum fed into it.
  17. Never been aware of any neck dive and I played it very regularly for several years. Weight is in the listing above.
  18. I've kind of made my mind up on the BF, just waiting for Alex to confirm that it will be OK to run a Two10 @12-ohms and a One10 @ 8-ohms. Theoretically it's a goer but he has promised to check it out and let me know.
  19. If any part of it is Rosewood then isn't CITES now an issue?
  20. Thee Metro has a channel selector switch, A or B. Unless you can find some way of over-riding this and having both channels on at once I would say probably not.
  21. 3 x 8-ohm speakers in parallel is 2.67-ohms. What ABY are you planning to use, how and why?
  22. obbm

    Ohms again

Using an 8-ohm cab plus a 4-ohm cab together will take you well below the magic 4-ohm total load. so 2 x 8-ohm cabs is the optimum. Using just a single 8-ohm cab will not make a significant difference compared to a 4-ohm version of the same. All you will notice is that the pointer on the volume control is a few degrees further round.
  23. Just out of interest which bass heads actually incorporate a High Pass Filter. I know that the Mesa D800+ does, so who else?
