http://www.youtube.c...oven+new+single oh dear, is this really the same bloke that made one of the best British Rock and Roll records (Move It) it's been downhill ever since, his voice is just too damned polite
He might sound polite but his diction is, and always has been, very clear. At least you can hear the words. I like that.

 3. I recently put some on a 25-inch scale bass however I modified the strings first: Cutting them to the overall length to suit the instrument Putting some heatshrink onto where I wanted to outer winding to end to seal it, just behind the nut Pealing back the outer layers until I had a size suitable for winding onto the tuners Worked a treat. however I suggest you first try it on some old scrap strings.
 4.
Lovely bass. Are you willing to courier this?
Firstly I need to check if I have a suitable box and secondly who would I trust with it.
 5. Between Farnham and Guildford in Surrey. About 40 miles from central London.

 7.
Really enjoyed learning this one for one of my bands - just got the basics down and gigged it like that for a while and gradually added the fills - some of the fill I put in are almost like the real song!!!
This is what I intend to do. It comes up occasionally at one of the local Jams so it's worth being prepared in case I'm caught in the hot seat.
 8.
RTFS... "...Download and change the suffix to 'Pdf'..." It's the Forum software which [s]buggers up[/s] changes the file names; an unwanted 'feature'. The cure is easy, though, as long as one knows about it, which is why I mentioned it. Does this help..?
Yes that works. Is this Apple being difficult and having its h*** stuck up its a*** again? What is wrong with calling it a pdf?
 9.
Here you go, two versions that are very similar, in Pdf format. Download and change the suffix to 'Pdf'... Enjoy; bon courage. Guitar Pro 6 is very good for learning stuff like this. (The twiddly bits are just decoration, really, so they could be added after you've got the main structure down 'pat'. Don't fret over a silly little 'throw-away' twiddle...).
What's a .ipb file? My PC doesn't recognise it.
 10. Clarification. I have a cutter that will make 24mm holes which is fine for most Neutrik connectors. Not sure about the XLR/jack Combo which seems to be a bit smaller.
 11.
Just out of interest, whats the maximum width of metal that these cutters can punch through?
http://www.tooled-up.com/product/q.max-sheet-metal-hole-punch-24mm/7669/
 12. Yes I have several others. Actually Chris I'm having second thoughts about selling this.
 13. Dan, i have a Q-MAX cutter for making holes for these Neutrik connectors. if you find a suitable box I'll happily cut the holes for you.
 14.
Beautiful If you don't mind my asking, what's the extra little switch for? GLWTS
Switches the neck LEDS on and off. Push the switch down - "Showtime"
 15. Musicman Stingray 5 with Status neck. - £1200 This was my everyday go to bass however as I no longer gig seriously, and haven’t used it in a while, I have reluctantly decided that it must go. The core instrument is a 2003 Pacific Blue Burst Stingray 5 which was fitted with a Status Carbon Fibre neck by Rob Green in early 2005. The neck has subtle blue side LEDs and a separate battery box was fitted to power them. Pick-up is a Nordstrand 3-coil with 3-way switching. The original MM pick-up is also included. Pre-amp is the regular Stingray 5. Currently strung with a new set of Sadowsky Blue Label. Schaller Strap-locks. Complete with a Hiscox case. Weight is 10lb 4oz. Collection or meet preferred. Do not want to ship. Also I am not looking for trades of any description.
 16. I must say it was a real pleasure to sit down and do this for Gareth yesterday. It is just a beautiful instrument and of course I took the opportunity to have a noodle before he came and collected it. Such a wonderful tone. It makes my MIJ fretless Jazz sound complete rubbish. Now what can I sell?
 17.
Thanks for the heads up re. Sadowsky. I've not seen them, but will try to locate a set. I tried Thomastik and liked them, apart from the over-light A string (only .70), which was just too slack (and had intonation issues - I couldn't move the bridge saddle far enough forward to get the octave in tune). I replaced it with a .80 Chrome, which matches quite well - they're on my Jazz at the moment.
The last 4-string set I got was from an Ebay Seller in Poland. About £36 posted. I found that Thomastik strings were a bit like playing with wet string. The Sadowskys are a bit tighter but each their own.
 18. +1 for Sadowsky Flats. Very difficult to find in Europe however.
 19.
That's true for times when things are relatively steady, not so much when there is major change or turmoil. But i genuinely hope you're right, and not just for the sake of affordable basses. (food, employment, education and housing would be closer the top of the list, but the price of instruments is just a part of a bigger picture)..
Absolutely. I would not want to see mortgage rates back up at 15% again. That would put a new bass purchase way down the list of priorities.
 20. Exchange rates are always moving up and down. In my working life I've seen the dollar/pound swing between almost $1 =£1 up to $2.4 = £1 and back. Just because the rate is bad today doesn't mean it will stay there.
 21. Two sets of Rotosound SM66 Swing Bass strings, 40-100 in original packing. These have both been cut to fit Fender Precision and fitted for a short while. They have been played very little and never been gigged. £25 posted for the two sets or will split
