1. I think Lozz has answered the question. I've never had a chance to try a 410L, perhaps I should.
2.
There's something about feel on this song that reminds me of Nick Lowe / Rockpile , and I mean that as high praise indeed .
Thanks. Very perceptive. I know for a fact that Nick Lowe was one of Micky's early influences. Interestingly my current band do "Cruel To Be Kind" and "Peace, Love and Understanding". Cracking bass line on the latter.
3.
Photos?
Thanks for the reminder. Pictures now added to original post.
4. Here you are Nigel. My meagre submission recorded 10 years ago in Austin. http://www.myspace.c...25231875&ac=now Although many of the tracks were roughly tried here in the UK the parts really only came together in the studio. Nothing very technical or exciting but that's not my style. I reckon the bass drives the song along nicely with a nice bit of tension from the use of 3rds in the verses. Stingray 5 through a Sansamp straight into the desk. There's a bit of fret rattle as the actioned had changed following the transatlantic flight. When I was playing for Micky this was always a popular song - the alternative title is "Die You Bitch".
5. When I owned this cab I used an Orange AD200B which gave a great tone.

2x12's??????
Hadn't considered these obbm, off to their website for me, any downsides??
None that I have found. I know several owners like myself who are very happy with them and have no plans to move them on. Using a pair effectively gives me a 4x12 but much lighter and easier to move than a single cab. I'm quite small but can carry a 1212L single handed without any problem. The latest ones have two front facing drivers. I have the ones which have one front facing driver and one angled plus a horn.

2x12's??????

Schroeder 1210L or 1212L, if you can find one. I use a single 1212L, sometimes two, and they are light, loud and cut right through the mix. That is all.
8. RIP Reg, you wild thing. 71 is no age at all these days.
9.
+1! I've waited and waited a LONG time to get the right neo 2x12 for me...this might be it.
That's what I'm hoping.
10.
Its a really good design, it just doesn't fit a big neoprene strap that doesn't really fold: There is a pocket underneath the neck which is perfect for holding a lead / pics / earplugs etc, but my big chunky strap doesn't fit in it. The fit around the body of the bass is so snug that the strap doesn't fit there either.
I have the same type of Hiscox case. As well as the bass I keep a tuner and short cable in the pocket and fold my chunky Comfort Strapp around the headstock. Job done.
11. Mike bought an Orange pre-amp board from me. Very quick and smooth transaction.
12. OK Gareth. BTW we are The Wheatsheaf in Alton on the 16th. I could stick it in the car with my rig if that helps.
13. I am so so tempted to buy this NV610 back.
14. Bump time Schroeder 21012 is still for sale.
15. Following our debut at The Barley Mow in Shepperton on the night the Olympics closed The Cry are back again on Saturday 2nd February. Be nice to catch up with any BCers from SW London who can come along.
16. Let's rejuvenate this thread and get it fired up again. This is a very worthy attempt to save this historic venue and features some great bands from SW Surrey/NE Hampshire. If I wasn't gigging myself I would be there.
17. This was my old Epi rig. Series 1 UL112 and a T-112. Great combination. Can't remember why I sold them but I regret it.
18.
Know what input voltages it wants? Edit: I spot the heater one n the board, kinda guessed that though.
Yes heater is 6.3-volts. HT unknown and I've not been able to get a schematic. One would need to get hold of a full amp and measure it. DI out section of the board needs +15/-15-volts.
19.
Interested to know how come you have this - have you ripped it out and put your own preamp in?!
Not at all. I bought it from Ebay several years ago. It had a damaged valve socket, which I have replaced. The original owner had damaged it and so the whole board was changed.
20. Orange Terror Bass pre-amp board. Make an excellent project for the technically minded. £25 posted.
21. Currently using Schroeder 1212L, either singly or as a pair. Also have a Schroeder 2x10 + 12 which I may sell or might just see if I can find another and use the pair. One day I'd like to try a BF S12 and a 69'er just to satisfy my curiosity.
22. It depends on whether your current amp allows you to mix the effects return into the signal chain or whether it just cuts it off.
