1.
Thanks for that. It's on the right track. May need 2-3 in black or brown.
I found a pair on Ebay. Used one for a while then sold it to another BCer. No idea who made them. Very, very rare. This one is surplus to my needs and available. Currently I have a custom Flightcase Warehouse case, 4U with a GK Fusion and two half-rack modules.

3.
Not so much a Trace thing as a late 80s/early nineties thing. Laney (and most likely other manufacturers) were using XLRs as well, and they were pretty common for PA's at the time. Used for the same main reason as Speakons nowadays - you can't accidentally use a guitar lead. I suppose the fact that you might have been able to use a mic lead is why the Speakon took off!
Some 1960s VOX cabs used XLRs. Our guitarist had a T60 cab with one in 1965.
4. In theory there is nothing to stop you having a small swicth which plugs into the footswitch socket on the amp to do this. The question is where to put the switch as it is external to the amp. If the amp is rack mounted and there is sufficient space on the front face of the rack ears then it could be mounted there. If not then perhaps an external bracket using the rack-ear mounting screw holes would do. Perhaps a switch in a small box velcroed to the top of the amp. Some more information about what you have, how you use it and how you would like to use it would be helpful.
5. Sadly it's just another example of Google's desire to be as intrusive as possible into one's private life. I, for one, deplore it and them.
6. Oh dear I seem to have killed this thread.
7.
Yes, I remember reading this too. The amp is actually capable of peaks of 900W at 4 ohms. Somewhere (maybe in the Bass Gear Magazine review?) they detailed that the impedance switch just throttles the amp back to around 500W in each position.
My reading of this would be that by running it with the switch at 8-ohms into a 4-ohm cabinet should give a lot more oomph.

9. As far as I can remember the switch has something to do with the input limiter of the Class D power amp, certainly nowhere near the output stage.
10. Never a problem, if we need to change key then we just do it. The confusion comes when someone plays in different bands who do the same song in different keys
11. Yes still available. pm replied to.
12. Cab sockets, whether they be jacks or Speakons, are wired such that as you daisy-chain them the cabs are connected in parallel. i.e 8-ohm cab linked to another 8-ohm cab presents 4-ohms to the amplifier. To make the cabs be in series, e.g. 8-ohm + 8-ohm =16-ohm, then you need a special cable. The confusion occurs because physically the cable appear to link the cabs in series however electrically the internal conductors of the cable are actually connecting them in parallel.
13. How about a nice Schroeder 21012? A light loud and punchy single cab solution.
14. How about running the PC monitors from the Mon outputs of the mixer. When you want to monitor on headphones you turn the PC speakers down/off
15.
I think you'll get better results running a lead from your Headphones output on the PC to the pair of RCA red/white sockets marked 2T RTN on your mixer. Then make sure that you've engaged both buttons 2T RTN to MON and AUX to MON (just to be on the safe side). Take the main OUTPUT slider down to zero, plug in your headphones, turn UP the MON volume control, and see what happens. Using the Headphones output on the PC should kill the sound from the PC speakers. Taking the OUTPUT slider right down should kill the sound from the cab. Running everything through MON should feed the headphones.
Seeems a bit of a convoluted way of doing things. With effectiverly the smae mixer I run the bass directly into a mic/line channel and the PC into a stereo channel. Headphones monitor the mix out. Simples.
16. Neil I use the larger brother of this mixer with headphones and a PC. Have you tried plugging the bass directly into a mixer line input using an instrument cable? Turn the channel level control up to 10 and then increase the channel gain control until the LEDs start to indicate. The grey routing switches just above the mon control should all be out. Main fader at 0 Turn up the MON control. If the LEDS indicate but you have no sound in the headphones then it could be your adaptor.
17. Geddy Lee, sunburst 2 or 3 years old, excellent condition complete with Fender Gigbag Now £550 cash No trades Prefer meet/deliver/collect These are the real deal as far as Japanese made 70's reissue basses are concerned as the bridge pick-up is in the correct position unlike the MIJ 75RI version which has 60s spacing.
18.
If you left-click on it , select the Open With radio button and click Browse, then click Browse again in the next dialog box, then navigate your way to the location of Acrobat Reader (probably somewhere like Program Files -> Adobe -> Reader 10.0 -> Reader -> AcroRd32) Firefox will open it.
Thanks Pete. Sorted.
19.
Take off the feet and all the MB heads are 1u The MB200 might even be 1/2u, can't remember off the top of my head.
MB200 is 1U but less than half a rack wide as shown in my third picture.
20.
Dave, do you know if Flightcase Warehouse would be able to do an ABS version?
As far as I am aware ABS cases are mass produced by injection moulded and therefore not suitable for custom builds.
If it's not too personal a question, what was the approximate cost on this?
The basic case was just short of £120. I already had the rack trays which came from a Gator wireless mic rack case. The rest I made.
21. You mean like this: Case was custom made to my design by Flightcase Warehouse. I drilled the bottom of case to line up with the feet holes in the amp which stands off on spacers. Also drilled a hole in the side to line up with the MB Fusion fan. It fits neatly on top of the Schreoder 1212L and make a wicked compact loud lightweight rig. Will take picture when it stops raining, , and I can retrieve it all from the car. This was version #1. I still have a spare rack case like this for sale but it has no front or rear covers. 3U rack strip at front only and about 300mm deep.
22. Another excellent deal with Nick. Thanks.
