1. Ted dropped by today and departed with my Fender Geddy Lee Jazz. It was an excellent transaction. Deal with confidence.
2. Nice one. I was looking at this as a potential brother for my pink jazz. I contacted the seller for the serial number and it is not far from my Jazz so I suspect it's a real one. If I remember correctly these were produced to celebrate Fenders 50th anniversary and so it should have a sticker saying so on the back of the headstock.
3. The place we used for the original Bashes was where the Premier Inn/Beefeater now is at Harpole on the A4500 not far from J16 of the M1. They had a function room that opened out onto the car park so loading in/out was very simple.
4. For the benefit of the newer members, there were several national Bashes held at a hotel near Northampton, just off the M1. There were excellent turnouts at each one. An afternoon of gear looking at gear and noise making followed by everyone sitting down for a meal. Inspired by these the regions decided to hold their own local Bashes.
5.
What did you buy Dave? Don't keep me in suspenders.....
A '73 Precision, Sunburst, loads of Mojo, weighs 8.5lbs, great neck and tone and 2 previous owners, one for 30 years. I've spent that last few days setting it up with some 50-110 Lo-Riders. It will be great with the blues band. I've gone back to my SR5 for the main band so the Sterling is now completely superfluous to my needs and I'd like to reimburse my savings.
6. Yes. I paid a visit to Bass Gear in Twyford last week.
7. Time for a bump.
8. Bought a Boss Overdrive from Mark. Well packed and very quickly despatched. Nice one.
9. Pete very kindly sorted out a Bridge Ashtray for my '73 P. Top man.
10. Price reduced - see first post.
11. pm sent.
12. Trade for a mint sunburst Geddy Lee Jazz located 8 miles west of Guldford?
13. They are not for sale but one of them might tick the boxes. If not then at least you've eliminated them from your quest.
14. Nick, do you want to try a Schroeder 21012 or a 1212L?
15. 2002 Musicman Sterling, black with clear scratch plate. A really fine example of a genuine Ernie Ball Musicman Sterling, not to be confused with the budget Sterling by Musicman basses. Weighs 9lb 9oz. Comes with a nice hard case. £625. Cash or Paypal gift only. Trades Consider Fender P or PJ Precision, Schroeder cab, GK MB500 + cash my way. Collect or meet within 60 miles of Farnham, Surrey. Will consider shipping within the UK at cost.
16. Just to add my tuppence, thanks to Colin and Nik. It was great to catch up with everyone again.
17. Check the pick-up wires. Cloth covered = Lindy Fralin Black/White pvc wires = Aero Red/Green pvc wires = Lakland
18.
The thing with the lcoations on the left is that I don't think you can see 'em if you're on the mobile site jus like you can't see sigs either, it annoyeth me oft'times when using my mobile instead of t'computer
Thanks Andy. I'm not into the mobile thing so didn't know. For those who can't see it location is between Farnham and Guildford in Surrey.
19.
Fair enough, where are you based?
Where it says after Location on the left. Much as I've heard great things about Spectors I'm really only after the possible trades I listed in the original post.
20.
Hi there, Is this any good to you.......? http://basschat.co.u...87#entry1815187
I can't comment until I try one as I've never played a Spector.
21. Bump for revised trade options in first post.
22. What's the weight please?
23.
We need accurate scales ...
Well C major is the simplest.
24. As an experiment I recently played a gig using my Fusion to power two (2) 4-ohm Schroeder 1212Ls wired in series to be 8-ohms. Despite the theoretical drop in power it was punchy and loud. Perhaps I should bring this set-up to the SE Bash.
25.
No, but if you are free on Sunday 23rd, there's an Overwater bash in Barnes, west London, organised by the company itself. I think Martin posted about it on here, under Events.
Thanks. Yes I'm aware but can't go unfortunately.
