1.
Have you been to see us since the latest refit?
Depends when it was. Last visit was October last year to pick up a Zoom recorder.
  2. Welcome Mark. I've been a customer of Andertons right from the very first shop in Stoke Fields in 1964 when I used to drool over Fender Jazzes and Precisions that I couldn't afford. I still can't afford early 60s Fenders so nothing much has changed.
  3. I've had it for the best part of 30 years and as far as I'm concerned there is no fix so I just ignore it and get on with things. Most of the time I hardly notice that I have it.
  4. I recently acquired an excellent 1971 Jazz complete with original bridge and pick-up covers however these were fitted with what look like regular slot-headed brass wood screws which I cannot believe are correct. So the question for the vintage Fender experts is what is the correct type of screw for the ashtrays? BTW it's the Fender that is vintage, not necessarily the experts.
  5. Oh dear oh dear. Sad news. he was such an influence.
Few pics from Swanfest mate...including yourself Cheers for coming down and playing, The Cry were great! https://www.facebook...&type=3
Thanks. Any chance of a copy of that to use on FB?
  7.
just double click on each link and the photos will show Thanks
Nope. Firefox is looking for an application to open it. What is an .ipb file anyway?
  8. A recent T-serial MIJ Sunburst Geddy Lee Jazz in top condition complete with virtually unused Fender Gig Bag. £600 ovno. Collection/meet preferred.
  9.
Where is the silver one in your main photo from? (sorry for the derail)
It's not silver, a trick of the light, it's a rather fetching beige. I bought a pair from Ebay. One was sold a while back but the other is still available if you are interested. It's 3U internal height, about 300mm deep and has rack strip at the front only.
  10.
That half-rack case is genius!
Thanks and so easy to carry.
  11.
Interesting rig dude. Whats the head all about?
This was version 1 with GK MB200/dbx 163 compressor/Boss TU 50 tuner all in a 3u half rack case. Version 2 has a GK Fusion instead if the MB200 and is in custom Flightcase warehouse case. Simples.
  12.
I take it the gig withy the Schroeder went well then
Actually it's 3 gigs since Friday and it was great with aall of them. The rest of the band like it too which is a bonus.
  13. Pair of Aguilar SL112s complete with Roqsolid covers. Superb lightweight cabs but just not my sound. £475 each or trade w.h.y. Prefer collect/meet rather than try and post..
  14. Trade for a pair of Aguilar SL112s complete with Roqsolid covers?

    The Cry gigs

A few months ago I joined a Surrey based band called The Cry - not to be confused with a Southampton based band of the same name. Good bunch of guys, no egos, interesting set list, professional attitude. We only gig spasmodically due to a couple having other band committments. This Friday we're at The Swan in Farnborough, Hampshire which will give me chance to try my recently acquired Schroeder 21012 cab. Hmmm nice. Also there are two local festivals running this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, and we're playing both of them on Sunday afternoon/evening. 3:00pm at Swanfest at The Swan, Farnborough 7:30pm at Tuckwell Live at the Marlborough Head, East Street, Farnham. Busy, busy Heads up for those in the West London appproaches, we're at the The Barley Mow in Shepperton on July 27th.
  16. What a nice chap. Just bought his Schroeder 21012 which he knidly delivered for me. Lozz and I have done some cable business in the past so it was really nice to meet face to face and chat about things bass over a cup of coffee. Oh the cab, it's just amazing. Lucky me. The band are in for a surprise on Friday.
  17.
no no no no... *Looks away*
+1
  18. A+ for sales effort but alas it's too bulky for my ageing frame. Good luck with the sales.
  19. This is one of those dreadful head/heart situations. I would love this cab and I reckon it would be magic with the Orange AD200B. My bro-in-law is a courrier and lives near Camborne so he could pick it up and get it to me in his van, hoever I had an NV610 once but found it a bit too much to move so this would be the same. Rats!!!.
  20.
Am at The Maltings in Farnham on May 18th with tribute band 'ELO Experience.'
Will try and get there.
  21.
I'm gigging in Farnham on May 18th
Where?
  22. What no-one has mentioned is the amplifier's damping factor, i.e. the amps ability to control the loudspeaker motion and produce cleaner and clearer tone at all frequencies. There is a good explanation at http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/amps/damping_factor.pdf Cable resistance has a significant effect on this. Typically 1.5-sq.mm. cable has 3 times the resistance of 4-sq.mm., 2.5-sqmm. is almost double.
  23.
I wondered about bigger the better and I can see that bell wire would be inadequate but is there actually a benefit from 2.5 (or 4 for that matter) over 1.5mm2? For house wiring 1.5mm is used for lighting circuits with a 5A fuse (= 5 x 240 = 1200W) so perhaps for peaky current and accurate transmitting of a signal this is too near the mark for a 900W amp.
You are dealing with multi-frequency audio not a pure 50Hz sine wave. It's not only volts and current that have to be considered. As for 4-sq.mm. cable, canvas the opinion of those who are using it.
