2. Sennheiser EW-300 In-ear monitor system complete with all accessories in original box. 830MHz to 866MHz. £390 collected or £400 posted. Cash, cheque, bank transfer or Paypal gift accepted.
3. Make a cable to run the two cabs in series to make 16-ohms, and Robert is your father's brother.
4. Partial result. £689 if bought in the shop, however still too much.
5. Interesting that they also have it on their web site and in the store at the same price. By my reckoning the Ebay Sellers fee and Paypal fees come to about £65. I wonder what they would want for collect and pay cash. Maybe I'll ask.
6. for a used 90s Japanese Fretless Jazz? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item484161a1b4 I saw a similar one go recently for £400.
7. Greg bought the Godin A5 Fretless from me. He travelled down from London by train and we met at Guildford Station to conduct the deal at the time agreed and without a hitch.
8. Happy New Year to all on Basschat.
9. Wow that stirred up a bit of interest. I was in the process of rewiring it a few years ago. The power amp side is all done but not tested. The transformers and choke are in excellent condition and it has all new caps. I'll dig it out of the garage tomorrow.
10.
If OBBM is still reading this thread, I for one would like to know what he tried, and whether it worked or not.
Pete, I ended up with two amps neither of which I have had a chance to try seriously yet due to lack of time. The first was an Ashdown LB30, the other is a Hayden MoFo 55, 55-watts from a pair of 6550. When I get an opportunity I'm going to try them with the Berg AE212 however the Berg is 4-ohms and the MoFo only has taps for 8 and 16-ohms. I tried it with a single 1 x12 and it was promising. My original idea was to modify the tone stack of the MoFo55 so it was more suited to bass however I'm no longer convinced that it would be a good idea, also the output transformer look a bit small compared to some of my other valve chassis. I've got the MoFo up for sale in my Ebay store so if it sells the it will go. I shall probably sell the LB as well, plus the parts of the Sound City 200 and see if I can raise some cash for a Hiwatt.
11.
Saw it,,,what I want to know is...how come it is acceptable for the camera man to have his own copies stashed at home... and he says he has others..!! Homework...???
I've known John Henshall, the cameraman concerned, for many many years. While he was at the BBC he started developing optical effects - special lenses - of which the Fish Eye used in this clip was one of his first. He eventually left the BBC and started his own company. He obtained a copy of the tape as the effect was his creation and no doubt he did not charge the BBC of the use of the lense so a copy of that sequence was fair recompense. Videotape for 2-inch bradcast VTRs was very expensive and someone in BBC management decided that they could save money by wiping and re-using tapes. Thousands of hours of unique television got destroyed in this process. It will be interesting to see what else he has hidden away. One of our local jammers spends some of his spare time researching and tracking down lost footage from that era. This is one of his finds, so thanks Ray.
12.
what are you after?
Specifically the circuit of my AD200B Mk 3 but I feel that putting schematics into the book would add so much more value and would help justify that outrageous price.
13. Nope still too much. Now if it had all the schematics as well then that would be different matter.
14. Steve Ryder has been making custom basses for years. Seeing as this show was in 2008 I doubt that it's a Sue Ryder bass he's playing, probably an upmarket custom jobby.
15. Godin A5 5-string unlined fretless complete with Godin gig-bag. Immaculate condition. Can sound just like a DB £600 or consider trades for Godin A4, Fender Japan or USA Fretted or unlined fretless Jazz or w.h.y. Do not wish to post so collect or meet within sensible distance of Guildford.
16. Another convert here. I've had many different basses over the years, 4 and 5 string, Musicman, Lakland, Status, Shuker, ACG, Godin but the basses that currently feel, look and sound right are a '96 Jap Jazz and a 2010 Geddy Lee. If I'd have bought a Jazz instead of a Precision when I started playing again 20 odd years ago I'd have saved myself a small fortune.
17.
That's easy..... 04/05 CIJ (R 002***) 96/97 MIJ (V 010***)
OK. I have a white plate from a 1996 MIJ V007*** Jazz which you can buy or borrow as a template to get a new one made. Any help?
18. You know what we say: "The bass doesn't exist until we see the pics." Hope it arrives soon On a more serious note I'm glad that you have finally resolved matters to your satisfaction.
19. From the OP's first post my interpreation of
flicked it onto stand by while i had a brew and let the valves all warm. Came back in, plugged the bass in and flicked on the power......nothing happened,
is that it was fully powered with no speaker attached. Hope it's OK.
20. There is nothing wrong with putting flats on your CV jazz, or in fact putting them on any bass. At the time that the Jazz was introduced the only strings available were flatwounds. I have TI flats on a 62RI jazz and they sound and feel great.
21. Both audio/mic and DMX use a screened pair cable and XLR connectors. They are both wired the same way. Audio cable has a nominal impedance of 70-ohms, DMX cable has a nominal impedance of 120-ohms. Audio signal is analogue, DMX signal is digital. Audio/Mic cable is typically lap screen, DMX cable uses a tight woven braided screen, like a transparent USB cable. The DMX signal is low level and susceptible to interference unless screened correctly. I understand that using an audio cable can effect the operation of the lights by losing data and in the extreme damage the lamp electronics. There is also Starquad audio/mic cable which has 2 pairs of conductors and an overall screen. The conductors are wired as opposite pairs into normal XLR connectors. This cable is very good for mics in electrically hostile environments and is used extensively in radio and tv outside broadcasts.
22.
Obbm, I'd be after a Jack Socket to Jack Socket cable. I've got a head with Speakon and XLR outputs and another two heads with Jack outputs so a JS to JS cable would offer me the greatest flexibility for rig setups. Is that something you could provide through obbm Cables and if so how much would it cost? Kind regards, Kim
Yes that's possible with either 2.5-sq.mm. or 4-sq.mm. cable. PM me if you are interested.
