1. In that case John, shouldn't you change your username to "warwickfound"?
 2.
12 as far as i know, at least thats what was quoted in the thread about them on here, 8ohm and 2400w handling.
That works out 3 in parallel gives 4-ohms Two sets in series gives 8-ohms.
 3.
Matamp have a couple of 8ohm 6x10's, they are on the Bay at the moment, I bought one about 2 months ago from them, well pleased with it.
What is the impedance of the individual drivers?
 4.
A 610 will almost always be 4 ohm. Why would you want to have an 8 ohm 610?
To be totally correct it will actually be 5.3-ohms. No matter how you try to configure six by 4, 8, 16 or 32-ohm speakers it will always come out at 5.3-ohms. It' s the laws of physics.
 5. I had a bass built to my specification by Alan at ACG. There are several excellent UK luthiers so I would recommend that you talk to them before going overseas. You might even save some money.
 6.
Nice one, I'd love to see/hear the set list. What Jonny Lang are you doing?
"Lie To Me" and maybe "Quitter Never Wins"
 7.
Hi Dave, good to hear you're back playing again. Is it anyone I might know? Look forward to catching up with you at the bass bash in September. Craig
I suspect that you probably know them. 2 former members of the original Lion Brewery Jam house band and an ex-Boogieman. See you at the Bash.
 8.
Glad to hear some of my old kit is getting some action too
Well you know I only use equipment that has the OHM seal of appproval.
 9.
Excellent news, all the best. BTW, what sort of leads did you use
Made by some outfit called "rock-wire". Very local to me.
 10. For those of you that know me I had a pretty torid time following major surgery exactly 2 years ago which has precluded me from any serious gigging. Finally things have settled down so I was startiing to look for a band when I was recently contacted by a local drummer to see if I wanted to join a band he was putting together. We finally we got together in a rehearsal studio last night and spent almost 4 hours running through loads of numbers. It's heavy blues covers by the like of Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, SRV, etc. plus some blues standards, Clapton, Cream and Free numbers for good measure. Three of the four of us are retired so there are a good few years experience. Now we've got to sort a set, nail it and find some gigs. It's great to be back playing again. As for gear I used the Shuker PJ5 which I grow to like the more I play it, Orange AD200B and an Epi 2x12. Weighty, but nice tone.
 11. Glad to hear that this is being sorted however it does make me question the competence of the Gallery in understanding the equipment they sell.
 12. You could also change the pre-amp valves to lower gain versions or put an attenuator in the effects loop to lower the drive from the pre-amp to the power stage.
 13. OP, I think there's an option missing from the list, a good old book, you know those things made of paper with printing on them. In 1962 or thereabouts, when I started, there were no tutors, teachers, internet, tab, songbooks, etc. The only way to learn how to tune the bass, basic scales and chords was the book written by Chas McDevitt and Shirley Douglass, the name of which escapes me for the moment however I'm rather envious of the fact that Happy Jack actually still has a copy of it. After that it was by ear, transcribing everything by hand.
 14. Now the Tone Hammer has been around for a month or so has anyone got any gig experience with it or comments, reviews, etc?
 15.
I believe so.
Fair enough then the options are to change one end as icastle suggests or sell the GK cables (they are needed for GK Bi-amp systems) and buy some new 2-pole Speakon cables.
 16. Does the Markbass head use 2-pole Speakon sockets then?
 17.
I just took delivery of 2 new GK Neo 112-ii cabs and they come with very nice 4-wire speakon leads. Because I use a Markbass amp I need to use 2-wire speakon leads. So easy question, can I convert the GK ones to 2-wire by disconnecting 2 of the wires or are they completely different? Cheers.
You shouldn't need to do anything, just use them as they are. All it means is that you won't be using the wconductors between terminals 2+ to 2+ and 2- to2-. The 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1- are compatible with 2-pole Speakons.
 18.
Im probably going totally over the top haha!
Not at all. It's brand new and not fit for purpose. OP has every right to demand a correctly working new one.
 19. Have you tried connecting the amp to the cab with a jack to jack cable? For test purposes an instrument cable will do. You should be able to uses both jacks as inputs.
 20.
The build quality of mine looks good to me, am really liking the sound and weight of it too... Curious about connections, Alex (Bass Gallery) has just confirmed that all of their in-stock cabs do the same as mine...
In that case I suggest that you contact Epifani directly. Have you tried the same with the jack inputs? Alternatively is there a technically savvy BCer near you who could check it over with a multi-meter. I'd be happy to do it but I'm rather a long way away from Sheffield.
 21. There should be no difference. They should both work. There is no in and out. They are supposed to be wired together to allow daisy chaining.
 22.
This sounds like a really interesting event. Having not been to one before, just wondering if it's essential to bring gear or I can just come down to experience what's going on?
The is no necessity to bring any basses or equipment just come andsoak up the atmosphere, have a chat and look at the gear. If however you have something that would be of interest to the others then bring it along.
 23. I have some. I won them in the raffle at the SE Bash 2 years ago. You can have them for the postage plus a small donation to BC. Edit: Sun am. Just found them An unopened 3-pack of Hartke Xlight 4string sets. HSB 440 3P. Nickel Wound>> Hex Core >> Long Scale .040 >> .060 >> .075 >> .095
 24.
That does make more sense. I guess it's true what they say "don't believe everything you read on the Internet" I got the info from a page on some guys website. So is it possible to connect 2 * 4 ohm cabs, either directly or using a different cable set up? Cheers Thebassman
You can't connect them directly. You need a special cable which puts the cabs in series i.e. 4 + 4 ohms and plug into the 8-ohm output.. As far as the amp is concerned it's an 8-ohm speaker.
 25.
I don't think you can do this on a AD200, it has a single 8ohm output and then 2 4ohm outputs. Unless the compacts can be run in serial.
AD200B has connections for: 1 x 8-ohm speaker - labeelled 8-ohm or 2 x 8-ohm speakers - these are confusingly labelled 4-ohms because 2 x 8-ohm cabs = 4-ohms.
