1.
Do these come with a gig bag like the Tiny Terror valve amps?
Certainly does.
 2. As it says, Orange TB500, as new in original box. Never gigged. £380 plus postage. Collection welcome.
 3.
I'm actually beginning to doubt that its actually one of yours but i was sure i ordered it from you. It looks like it has 4 pole speakon plugs on the end, one orange and one blue and the wires are brown and blue the cable has the details 'demko', 'nkt cables', '2x2.5mm'.
Nope, not one of mine. Only ever supplied Klotz cable. The fact that it's 2.5mm will make it easy to fit the XLR.
 4.
1. Does pin 3 just get left bare then? 2. Are they marked pin 1, 2, 3 on the XLR and 1+ and 1- on the speakon?
1. Yes 2. Correct. If it helps, cable is red to 1+, blue to 1-. You will have to leave the shell off the XLR as the 4-sq.mm. cable doesn't fit.
 5.
Sorry, but I think half of that is being generous.
+1
 6.
String Spacing @ bridge and nut ? How's that B string? Dead Notes?
8.5mm at the nut Bridge can be adjusted to suit. Currently set at 3 3/4-inches. Can be taken out to 4-inches.
 7.
Weight?
Just over 9 lbs.
 8.
i really am looking for another 5 string shuker, but all have to barter with is an enormous bergantino cab... which is why this is only a semi-serious post, because i'm resigned to the fact you are going to say no lol
You have no idea how seriously tempted I was when I saw your post for the cab as it would make a great companion for the Orange AD200B. I'm sure the combination would sound wicked however having previously owned NV610 I know that I would have problems moving it about which is why it would sit unused in my garage, and that would be a waste. At my age the last thing I need is to have to take the garden shed to a gig. I have finally arrived at suitable compromise of MB F1 and Epi UL310 both of which I can get into my Smart.
 9. Here's my pic of The Elite Clique from 1964.
 10.
My Dad gave me mine for my 13th Birthday. Any idea what they're worth now ?
There doesn't seem to be a going rate. There have been several of the long-scale (Bill Wyman) versions on Ebay of late asking for silly money and they are still for sale.
 11. Oh What memories, what memories. Nice one. I have a picture of my then band in 1964 plus some more recent ones on my mySpace page. Sadly though I no longer have my short-scale Framus Star bass. £45 new I remember from Potters Music Shop in Aldershot. Selling it in 1967 was a serious error of judgement.
 12.
Someone I know referred to this as 'reaching the age of enlightenment'.
It's also a case of it's good enough. How many of the punters can actually tell?
 13.
Pointless worrying about it... Tone is completely subjective and dependant upon the other instruments in the group and genre of music. Also just because one bass player can make a certain combination of instrument and amp sound good doesn't mean anyone else can.
Couldn't agree more. I'm happy with what I have now - for the moment.
 14. I went to see a friends band on Saturday night. The bass player had a USA Fender Jazz and my original Ashdown rig from 2003/2005. An ABM500EVO2 and 2 x Mini 4x8 cabs. What a wicked growly punchy tone, both inside and outside the pub. Why have I been wasting my money on GAS all these years? Doh!!!
 15. Seems to work best with Epi cabs. Immediately useable tone, loud, reliable and light. Used mine for 2+ years firstly with a UL310 and then with UL112/T112NYC. Sold it when I got an Orange AD200B.
 16.
Just picked up a cheap old desk, an Alesis 1622, for faffing about in the rehearsal room. In order to get any useable volume from the XLR mic inputs, I have to turn the gain WAY up high on each channel. DI'd instruments have no such problem, so presumably this is a mic level / line level issue? I didn't realise there were ANY more-or-less modern desks (i.e. 1990's or later) without pre-amps for the mic level inputs. Am I missing something really obvious?
According to the spec the mic channels have up to 70db of gain which should be more than enough. Have you followedthe level setting procedure in the manual? Also the main out can be switched between +4 dbV or -10dbV.
 17.
If you really want a 'quick fix' for a little more bottom end then I'd simply double up the cathode caps on the output valves, unless they're already large (1000uf+).
That might be a tad difficult seeing as the Bass Terror has a solid state power stage.
 18. My SR5 is 17mm at the bridge, 8.5mm at the nut
 19. They are supposed to be the Swiss Army knife of basses and very rare. I had one for a while, great range of tones from the Lip-stick pick-ups. It would be sacrilege to take them out and you would decimate its value. If you don't like them then please get a different bass to bodge up. The neck width was mid-way between a Jazz and a Precision which was a bit disconcerting. Well worth a look and a try however. If I could find one then I would snap up a 5-string version.
 20. Finally found one so I can join this thread now. Loxwood Beer Festival, June 2009.

 22. The way things are at the moment I can't see myself gigging regularly again for quite some time consequently I have no need to keep this bass. It was originally specified and commissioned by Old Horse Murphy. The full details are of the build are in this thread. Last year Nick put it for sale in this thread It is in tip-top condition and has been kept in in it's gig bag, apart from a couple of hours playing, since I acquired it last year, consequently there are no additional marks or blemishes over and above those mentioned in OHM's original description. £1200 or interesting trades/offers. Not in the market for anything specific but you never know what might take my fancy. Try me but be prepared for me to say no.
 23. This is the wiring diagram for the stack-pot Fender Jazz which is the same - 2 pups, 2 vol , 2 tone. This seems to work well in my Lakland PJ. A further way to stop interaction is to put mixing resistors, say 10K from the output of each volume pot. I've never heard of anyone putting series resistors in the ground wire but I guess it has a similar effect.
